cancellation Merge: Easy Method

What is Merge

Overview

Merge is a SaaS solution that helps teams streamline code review and merge request workflows, and may also include hardware (Merge Headset) and integrated API services under the Merge brand.

The product suite includes digital subscriptions (apps and services) and, in some cases, physical hardware sold directly by Merge.

Core features

Features commonly associated with Merge include unified API endpoints for integrations, tools to create and manage merge/merge-request workflows, and related support services.

Some Merge products are distributed through app stores (iOS/Android) and some via direct sales or the Microsoft Store for Windows.

How to cancel Merge

Cancel on iOS (App Store)

  • Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Tap your profile, then choose Subscriptions.
  • Select the Merge subscription, then tap Cancel Subscription.
  • Note: Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.

Cancel on Android (Google Play), Microsoft Store, or by contacting Merge

  • Android (Google Play): Open Google Play → menu → Subscriptions → select Merge subscription → Cancel subscription. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.
  • Web / Windows / Microsoft Store: Go to Services & Subscriptions → sign in with your Microsoft account → Manage subscription → Cancel. If you see "Turn on recurring billing", the subscription is already set to expire and no action is needed.
  • By email/post (preferred method): Send an email to hello@merge.dev with subject "Cancellation Request" and include your account details. You may also send written notice by post to the address in the Address section below.

What happens when you cancel

Access and renewal

When you cancel a paid subscription, recurring billing stops and no future charges will be made after the current billing period ends.

Access to paid features typically continues until the end of the paid period you already paid for; confirm your specific end date in your account or with Merge support.

Data and account status

Your account data may remain accessible after cancellation for a limited time; export any important data before cancelling if you need backups.

For hardware orders, cancellation requests must be made early (see deadlines below) and returned items must meet return conditions for refunds to be considered.

Will I get a refund?

Digital services (apps and subscriptions)

Digital service purchases are treated as final in Merge's public policy: all sales are final with no refunds or exchanges under normal circumstances.

Exceptions: Merge may review technical errors or exceptional cases individually. For app-store purchases, refunds are also subject to the App Store or Google Play refund policies.

Hardware (Merge Headset) returns and refunds

  • Returns accepted within 30 calendar days of receipt.
  • Item must be returned in original condition and packaging.
  • Return shipping cost is the customer’s responsibility and is non-refundable.

Your consumer rights in United Arab Emirates

Local law overview

UAE consumer protection laws provide rights to buyers, including protection against defective goods and misleading practices. Specific cooling-off periods are not spelled out in Merge's public policies.

For official government guidance on consumer protection in the UAE, see the UAE government consumer protection portal: UAE Consumer Protection.

How UAE rules affect Merge customers

Merge's published policies reference a 30-day return window for hardware and final-sale terms for digital products. These policies will interact with UAE consumer protections but do not explicitly reference UAE law.

If you believe UAE consumer law applies to your purchase, you may seek local legal advice or contact UAE consumer protection authorities for guidance.

Customer experiences

Positive feedback

Users of Merge Unified (the API platform) report that the unified API saves integration time and that support is responsive.

These strengths are often highlighted by teams looking to reduce custom integration work.

Negative feedback

Some users note limitations such as less-frequent data syncing for certain integrations and a steeper learning curve during onboarding.

Complex or advanced integrations may require more setup and support time according to some reviewers.

Documentation checklist

For subscription cancellations

  • Account email and username used for the subscription.
  • Subscription ID or order reference (from app store receipt or Merge confirmation).
  • Platform used (iOS / Android / Microsoft Store / direct).
  • A clear cancellation request message and preferred contact email.

For hardware returns

  • Order number and proof of purchase (invoice or shipping confirmation).
  • Return reason and photos if the item is defective.
  • Original packaging, accessories, and condition details to meet the 30-day return policy.
  • Tracking details for return shipping (customer pays return shipping).

Common mistakes

Uninstalling the app instead of cancelling

Many users assume deleting the app cancels the subscription. This is not true; uninstalling does not stop recurring billing from the App Store or Google Play.

Always cancel via the App Store, Google Play, Microsoft Services page, or by sending a cancellation email to Merge.

Missing order or account details

Submitting a cancellation without order numbers, receipts, or the account email slows processing and may delay confirmation of cancellation.

For hardware returns, failing to keep packaging or proof of purchase can make returns ineligible under the 30-day rule.
