Cancellation Chalk: Easy Method
What is Chalk
Chalk is a subscription-based digital service for education and/or productivity (often referenced as Chalkboard in provider materials). It provides access to online content and tools immediately after purchase and is delivered digitally rather than as a physical product.
Because the service is digital and access typically begins right away, subscription management and cancellation follow platform rules (Apple, Google) or Chalk’s own account settings if purchased on the web.
How to cancel Chalk
- If you subscribed via the Apple App Store: open Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions on your iPhone/iPad and cancel the Chalk subscription there. Deleting the app or your Chalk account does not cancel an App Store subscription.
- If you subscribed via Google Play: open the Google Play Store app, go to Menu > Subscriptions and cancel Chalk from that list. Uninstalling the app will not stop recurring charges.
- If you subscribed via Chalk’s website: sign in at Chalk’s website, go to Account Settings or Subscriptions and select “Cancel Subscription.”
- If you prefer Chalk support to help (web subscription or account questions), you can request cancellation by email to [email protected], by phone at 905-581-3700, or by postal mail to the address below. Include your account email and any subscription details in the request.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a Chalk subscription, you will not be billed again for future billing cycles. For platform subscriptions (Apple or Google), the platform handles the recurring billing and must be used to stop further charges.
Access to paid features typically remains active until the end of the current paid billing period; cancelling does not usually result in immediate loss of access within the period you already paid for. Account data and any content you created generally remain tied to your account unless you request deletion in accordance with Chalk’s data policies.
Will I get a refund?
Chalk’s stated policy is that refunds are not generally provided for digital subscription services except in limited, specific cases (for example, clear mis-pricing, significant, prolonged service interruption, or other exceptional circumstances). There is no automatic entitlement to a refund for cancelled subscriptions.
If you cancel, you usually keep access until the end of the paid period but will not receive a refund for unused time. For purchases made through Apple or Google, platform refund policies and processes apply - contact the platform’s support if you believe a refund is warranted.
Chalk plans and pricing
| Plan | Price | Billing |

Your consumer rights in Canada
Under Canadian consumer protection rules for online purchases, there is commonly a 14-day cooling-off period for some online purchases, but that right can be waived for digital services that begin immediately. Chalk’s terms indicate that because the service is digital and delivered immediately, the 14-day cancellation/return right is waived.
If you believe your situation involves misrepresentation, improper charges, or a service failure, you can raise the issue with Chalk support and, if unresolved, consult your provincial consumer protection office or your payment provider for chargeback or dispute options.
Customer experiences
Users report that cancelling via the Apple or Google subscription settings is effective and stops future charges once properly completed. Several users emphasize that simply deleting the Chalk app or closing an account does not stop platform-managed subscriptions and can lead to continued billing if not canceled correctly.
Some customers have reported difficulty navigating cancellation or refund processes and slower-than-expected responses from Chalk customer support. In general, platform-managed cancellations (Apple/Google) are straightforward if you follow each platform’s subscription settings; web cancellations depend on finding the correct account settings or contacting support.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and username used to subscribe
- Date of subscription and last payment (billing period)
- Receipt or order confirmation (App Store/Google Play receipt or Chalk web invoice)
- Method you used to subscribe (Apple App Store, Google Play, Chalk website)
- If contacting support: a clear cancellation request and any screenshots of subscription settings or receipts
Common mistakes
Many subscribers mistakenly delete the Chalk app or their account thinking that will cancel the subscription. This does not stop platform-managed recurring billing (Apple or Google). Always cancel through the App Store or Google Play subscriptions page when you subscribed there.
Another common issue is assuming a refund will be issued automatically after cancellation. Chalk’s policy and typical digital-service practice mean refunds are uncommon; if you believe you qualify for a refund, provide clear documentation and contact the platform (for in-app purchases) or Chalk support (for web purchases) promptly.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Apple App Store subscription | Not usually (Apple handles refunds per its policy) | Low to Medium (cancel in Settings > Subscriptions) |
| Google Play subscription | Not usually (Google Play handles refunds per its policy) | Low to Medium (cancel in Play Store > Subscriptions) |
| Web subscription (Chalk website) | Not usually (Chalk may consider exceptions in limited cases) | Low to Medium (cancel via Account Settings or contact support) |
| Contacting Chalk support (email/phone/mail) | Not usually (used for account assistance and exceptional refund requests) | Medium (response times and outcome can vary) |
After cancelling
After you cancel, keep your confirmation (screenshot or email) showing the cancellation. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, verify in the platform subscription settings that the subscription status is shown as cancelled or will not renew. For web subscriptions, keep any cancellation confirmation from Chalk.
