Cancellation Mimo: Easy Method
What is Mimo
Overview
Mimo is a mobile and web app that offers bite‑sized lessons and interactive exercises for learning coding and related skills. It uses short lessons, gamified elements, and progressive projects to help users practice on the go.
How to cancel Mimo
- App Store (iOS): Cancel directly in the App Store subscriptions menu. See Apple's subscriptions support for steps.
- Google Play (Android): Cancel directly in the Google Play subscriptions menu. See Google Play subscriptions support.
- Mimo website (web): Sign in to your account on the Mimo website and cancel through your account/subscription settings.
- If Mimo does not appear in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions list, you may have subscribed via the website or under a different account - check the email address you used for the purchase and any receipts.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a recurring subscription, it will stop future automatic renewals. Paid access typically remains until the end of the current billing period; you should retain access to Pro/Premium features until that expiry date. Your account data (progress, settings) is generally retained per Mimo’s policies - cancellation removes the paid subscription but does not necessarily delete your learning data unless you request account deletion through Mimo support.
Will I get a refund?
Refunds depend on where you purchased the subscription. Apple manages App Store purchases and you must request refunds from Apple directly. Google Play offers refunds for purchases made within roughly 48 hours via Google Play’s refund process; for purchases older than 48 hours you can still submit a refund request to Mimo support but refunds are discretionary and require your Google receipt. For web purchases, submit a refund request to Mimo support through their website and include your receipt. Mimo’s published help centre describes these platform-dependent procedures and does not specify an automatic 14‑day cooling‑off refund for Canadian users.
Mimo plans and pricing
| Plan | Price (approx.) | Period | Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro: Learn to Code on the Go | ≈ C$18 (US$13.49) | Monthly | Flexible monthly subscription |
| Mimo Pro: A Year of Coding | ≈ C$130 (US$97.99) | Yearly | Full year access to coding materials |
| Mimo Premium Yearly | ≈ C$50 (US$37.99) | Yearly | Premium annual subscription |
Your consumer rights in Canada
Mimo’s help centre explains cancellation and refund procedures by purchase platform but does not reference Canada‑specific consumer protection statutes. Canadian users may have statutory rights under provincial or territorial consumer protection laws, including certain cooling‑off or refund rights in some circumstances, but these are not addressed in Mimo’s published policies. If you believe a statutory right applies, you can raise it with Mimo support and, if needed, consult your provincial consumer protection office for guidance.
Customer experiences
Many users praise Mimo for its user‑friendly interface, short lessons, and gamified motivators (leaderboards and rewards), which help with consistent practice. At the same time, some users report technical issues such as occasional freezing after exercises that require reloading the app. Other complaints include encountering content or project access gated behind a higher‑tier plan ('Max') even after purchasing 'Pro', which some users describe as misleading. These points appear in public reviews such as Trustpilot.
Documentation checklist
- Subscription receipt (App Store, Google Play, or Mimo web receipt)
- Email address used for the purchase
- Account username or ID (if different from your email)
- Dates of purchase and last renewal
- Screenshot or confirmation of subscription status (optional)
Common mistakes
Users commonly look in the wrong place for their subscription. For example, if you subscribed on the website you will not see Mimo in the App Store or Google Play subscriptions list; similarly, using a different Apple/Google account can hide the subscription. Another common issue is assuming an automatic 14‑day refund right applies - Mimo’s policies do not state a Canada‑specific cooling‑off period. Some users expect all features to remain after downgrading from a promotional or bundled plan, or misunderstand tier differences (e.g., Pro vs Max) and are surprised when certain projects are locked.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| App Store (iOS) | Apple manages refunds - request from Apple directly. | Moderate |
| Google Play (Android) | If within ~48 hours request refund from Google Play; after 48 hours submit to Mimo with Google receipt. | Easy (within 48h) / Moderate (after 48h) |
| Web (Mimo website) | Submit a refund request to Mimo support via the website with your receipt; refunds are discretionary. | Moderate to Difficult |
After cancelling
Keep your purchase receipt and the email used for the subscription. If you need a refund request or help, contact the relevant platform first (Apple or Google) or submit a support request through Mimo’s site with your receipt. For Canadian users who want to assert consumer rights, gather documentation and, if necessary, contact your provincial consumer protection office. If you choose to revoke by post per Mimo’s Terms of Service, send it by registered mail (raccomandata A/R) to the company address and keep delivery proof. For additional information see Mimo’s website (mimo.org), Apple refunds (Apple report a problem), and Google Play refunds (Google Play refunds). You can also review user feedback on Trustpilot.
