Cancellation Mobile Vikings: Easy Method
What is Mobile Vikings
Mobile Vikings is a European mobile virtual network operator and internet-at-home provider known for prepaid and postpaid mobile bundles, SIM-only plans and fixed wireless internet services in markets such as Belgium and Poland. It is not a Canadian carrier and does not publish plans or pricing in Canadian dollars; services and consumer policies are managed from its European support channels.
How to cancel Mobile Vikings
- Internet at home: Log in to your My Viking account, go to “Product” → “Cancel home internet.” The connection is usually deactivated within hours; you must return any rented modem/booster via bpost using the return label in your account.
- Mobile subscription (keep your number): Request a port to your new provider - the new provider performs the transfer and Mobile Vikings’ subscription is ended automatically.
- Mobile subscription (deactivate number): In My Viking choose “cancel your phone number” at the end of your bundle period, or for prepaid simply stop topping up and the number will expire automatically.
- Prepaid credit after porting: If you port a prepaid number away, request a refund of remaining credit via Mobile Vikings support within one month; a €5 administrative fee applies and the refund amount must exceed this fee.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel home internet the connection is typically deactivated within hours and Mobile Vikings issues a pro‑rata final invoice or credit note. Rented hardware (modem/booster) must be returned using the bpost label in your account - failure to return hardware may result in charges. Mobile subscriptions stop renewing; numbers remain active only if you port them or explicitly keep them. For prepaid numbers, stopping top-ups leads to automatic expiry. Porting your number to a new provider is handled by the gaining operator and generally ends your Mobile Vikings mobile contract.
Will I get a refund?
Mobile Vikings offers a 30‑day quality guarantee for your first SIM or internet service: you can request a refund (via the contact form) within 30 calendar days from activation if conditions are met - all invoices paid, only one use of the guarantee, mobile number ported within 30 days (if applicable), internet deactivated within 30 days, and rented hardware returned. If approved, refunds are processed to the original payment method (usually within about three weeks). The guarantee can refund the initial price plan, installation fees, Wi‑Fi booster rental and used Viking Points; out‑of‑bundle mobile charges are not refunded. For prepaid numbers ported away, you may request the remaining top‑up credit within one month, subject to a €5 admin fee; refunds are sent via the original payment method if the balance exceeds the fee.
Mobile Vikings plans and pricing
| Region / Plan | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Europe (Belgium, Poland, etc.) | Varies | Prices are listed in EUR or PLN on Mobile Vikings websites; not available in Canada. |
| Canada | Varies | No Mobile Vikings plans or official pricing in CAD; Mobile Vikings does not operate as a Canadian carrier. |
Your consumer rights in Canada
Because Mobile Vikings operates from Europe and does not provide services in Canada, Canadian statutory telecom rules (for example, the Wireless Code which governs Canadian wireless providers) may not directly apply. If you are in Canada and purchased service or hardware from Mobile Vikings’s European site, your recourse may include contacting Mobile Vikings support, requesting a refund through the vendor, and using payment‑card dispute processes or your bank’s chargeback options if the vendor does not resolve the issue. Provincial consumer protection laws and small claims courts may offer remedies for cross‑border purchases, but procedures and outcomes vary by province. Always retain purchase records, correspondence and shipment tracking to support any complaint or dispute.
Customer experiences
Users commonly praise Mobile Vikings for easy setup, competitive pricing, a user‑friendly app and responsive handling of hardware replacements; many highlight the value of features such as the “Viking clan” saving option. On the other hand, some customers report delays in support responses (for example waiting several days for follow‑up after reporting a dead modem) and occasional frustrations about delayed refunds. Reviews are mixed but often emphasize fast service in standard cases and slower responses in exceptional cases.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and username, phone number and customer ID (if shown in My Viking).
- Screenshots of My Viking cancellation screens or confirmation messages.
- Proof of porting (if you ported your number) or confirmation from the gaining operator.
- Receipts or invoices, payment method used and transaction IDs.
- Return label details and shipment tracking for rented hardware; proof of postage/registered mail if you send documents.
- Copies of any emailed correspondence with Mobile Vikings support.
Common mistakes
Common errors include failing to return rented hardware (which can trigger replacement or retention fees), cancelling or deactivating a number before porting it to a new provider (which may cause loss of the number), missing the one‑month window to request a prepaid credit refund after porting, and assuming Canadian telecom consumer protections automatically apply to a European provider. Another frequent mistake is not keeping clear evidence of cancellation requests and shipment tracking - retain screenshots, emails and postal receipts.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Cancel home internet via My Viking | Pro‑rata final invoice or credit; eligible for 30‑day quality refund if conditions met | Low - self‑service through My Viking; must return rented hardware |
| Cancel mobile by porting number | No automatic refund except under 30‑day guarantee; port handled by new provider | Medium - requires coordination with gaining provider and timing |
| Prepaid credit refund after port | Refund of remaining top‑up minus €5 admin fee, if requested within 1 month | Low to Medium - must submit request and meet the time/amount conditions |
After cancelling
Keep all confirmation emails, final invoices and return tracking numbers indefinitely until charges and refunds are resolved. Return any rented modem or booster promptly (Mobile Vikings asks items be returned via bpost within two weeks using the label in your account) to avoid extra charges. If you are in Canada and need further action, try contacting Mobile Vikings support using their web contact form, request refunds to the original payment method, and if necessary open a dispute with your card issuer or bank. For added legal proof of correspondence, you may consider sending a signed cancellation letter by registered mail with return receipt to the company’s Belgian address (see below); retain the postal receipt and return receipt copy.
