Cancellation Yallo: Easy Method
What is Yallo
Yallo is a Swiss mobile and internet service provider that offers prepaid and contract plans, roaming options and in‑app purchases. It operates primarily in Switzerland and bills in Swiss francs; some of its in‑app items are available in other app stores and shown in local currencies (e.g., CAD for Canadian App Store purchases).
How to cancel Yallo
- Call Yallo’s cancellation line: 0840 00 33 77 (costs CHF 1.50 per call). If calling from outside Switzerland you may need the appropriate international prefix; if you have an alternative hotline listed in Yallo support use that number. Cancellation can also be requested via Yallo’s live chat. Written or email cancellation requests are not accepted.
- When you call or chat, state clearly that you want to cancel the plan and confirm the effective cancellation date. Ask for and keep a reference number, the name of the agent, and a confirmation message or transcript if using chat.
- If you wish to keep your phone number, request a port‑out (MNP) during the call or chat and follow the operator’s porting instructions. Porting also requires contacting Yallo by phone or chat.
What happens when you cancel
After successful cancellation, your service will end according to Yallo’s notice rules: for contract plans the standard notice period is two months to the end of a month after the minimum contract duration has been fulfilled. If you cancel before the minimum contract period ends, Yallo’s published terms indicate you will be charged for the remaining months plus a CHF 100 handling fee.
For prepaid numbers, Yallo will reclaim numbers that are unused for 12 months; reclaimed numbers result in automatic deactivation and any remaining prepaid credit is typically not refunded. Porting out preserves your number only if you request and complete the porting process per Yallo’s instructions.
Will I get a refund?
Yallo’s publicly available materials do not describe a standard 14‑day statutory “cooling‑off” refund right. Refunds are not guaranteed: prepaid credit remaining when a number is reclaimed is not refunded, and there is no general promise of refunds for contract cancellations. If you believe a refund or credit is owed (billing error, double charge, etc.), request it during the cancellation call/chat and keep documentation; if Yallo refuses, escalate using the complaint options described below.

Note: the table above lists in‑app purchase prices shown in the Canadian App Store. Yallo’s mobile/internet service plans are offered in Switzerland and billed in CHF; they are not priced in CAD and availability outside Switzerland may be limited.
Your consumer rights in Canada
Canadian consumer protection rules and telecom regulations may offer remedies when a foreign provider’s terms are unfair or misleading. Yallo’s requirement for phone‑only cancellations, high support call costs, and prohibition on written/email cancellations may conflict with Canadian consumer protection expectations. If you face a dispute (unenforceable fees, continued billing after cancellation, misleading terms), consider: filing a complaint with federal or provincial consumer protection agencies, contacting the Canadian Radio‑television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) for guidance on telecom matters, and seeking help from your payment provider or bank for unauthorized or disputed charges. Keep in mind that jurisdictional limits may affect enforcement against a foreign company based in Switzerland.
Customer experiences
Reviews and forum posts are mixed. Some users praise Yallo for good value on certain plans and affordable roaming bundles. However, many customers report persistent issues with customer service: long waits, inability to complete cancellations, malfunctioning chat systems, the cost of paid support calls, repeated billing errors, and instances of continued invoicing after cancellation attempts. A recurring complaint is the CHF 100 early cancellation/handling fee and difficulty getting clear written confirmation of cancellation.
Documentation checklist
- Account number or phone number on the Yallo account
- Full name and ID details used on the account
- Copy of contract or terms showing minimum period and fees
- Recent invoices and billing statements
- Record of call/chat: date, time, agent name, reference number, chat transcript or screenshots
- Port‑out authorization (if you want to keep your number)
Common mistakes
Common mistakes include attempting to cancel by email or postal letter (these are not accepted by Yallo), assuming a 14‑day cooling‑off refund applies, cancelling before the minimum contract period without checking the early‑termination cost, and failing to document the cancellation request (no agent name or reference). Another frequent error is not requesting porting at the time of cancellation and losing the phone number as a result. For prepaid customers, expecting a refund of unused credit when a number is reclaimed is a common misunderstanding.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Phone (0840 00 33 77) | No automatic refund; disputes may be raised but are not guaranteed | Medium - High (paid call + mixed service experiences reported) |
| Chat | No automatic refund; request and document any credit/refund claim | High (users report chat outages/loops and slow operator availability) |
| Written / Email | Not accepted by Yallo | Not possible |
After cancelling
After you cancel, keep all records of the cancellation and check subsequent bills for unexpected charges. If charges continue, contact Yallo again immediately, then escalate to your bank or card issuer to dispute unauthorized charges if needed. For help and to submit complaints or verify contact options use Yallo’s support site: Yallo Support - Contact. To see other customers’ experiences, you can review third‑party pages such as Trustpilot and relevant forum threads like Reddit discussion. If escalation is necessary in Canada, consider contacting provincial consumer protection offices or the CRTC for guidance and keep records of all interactions.
