Cancellation Mixcloud: Easy Method
What is Mixcloud
Mixcloud is a streaming platform for DJs, radio hosts and podcasters that offers on-demand listening, creator tools and fan subscriptions. It provides listener plans (Premium) for ad-free and offline listening, creator plans (Pro) for uploads and monetization, and creator-set fan subscriptions.
How to cancel Mixcloud
- Important: you cannot cancel a Mixcloud subscription from within the mobile app. Use a computer or your device's web browser and go to https://www.mixcloud.com/settings/payments/. See Mixcloud help: I don't see the option to cancel or update my subscription.
- On a computer: sign in to your Mixcloud account, open Settings → Payments → My billing info, then click "Cancel plan" and confirm (you may need to click "Cancel plan" twice). Cancellation takes effect from your next renewal date. See Mixcloud help: How do I cancel my subscription?.
- On a mobile browser: sign in at the payments link above, tap "My billing info", tap "Cancel plan" and confirm. Cancellation will apply from the next billing period.
- If your subscription was purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you must cancel through that store (Apple subscriptions via your Apple account / App Store; Google Play subscriptions via the Play Store). Mixcloud cannot cancel or refund those store-managed subscriptions.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a Mixcloud subscription purchased directly through Mixcloud, your access to paid features continues until the end of the current paid billing period. The cancellation prevents future renewals but does not immediately remove previously paid access. Your account, public uploads and basic account data remain unless you delete the account separately; Mixcloud's public help pages do not set out a separate automatic data-deletion schedule tied to cancellation.
Will I get a refund?
Mixcloud's Help Center does not publish a general refund policy for subscriptions for Canadian users; there is no explicit statement of a 14‑day cooling-off or automatic refund right on their publicly available pages. Refund outcomes can vary and are not guaranteed. If you believe you are entitled to a refund (for example, accidental purchase or technical problem), contact Mixcloud Support directly and include your receipts and details. If the subscription was billed through Apple or Google, refund requests must be handled through Apple or Google according to their refund procedures and policies.
Mixcloud plans and pricing
| Plan | Price | Period | Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium (listener) | US$7.99 (converted to CAD at checkout, plus tax) | Monthly | Unlimited replays, offline listening, no ads, upfront tracklists across all public shows |
| Pro (creator) | US$15/month or US$135/year (no current CAD listing available) | Monthly/Annual | Unlimited uploads, live streaming, monetize, HQ audio, insights, creator toolkit |
| Creator Subscription (fan-to-creator) | From C$2.99/month plus tax (creator-set) | Monthly | Premium listener benefits plus exclusive creator content |
Your consumer rights in Canada
Mixcloud does not publish an explicit refund or cooling-off policy for Canadian consumers on its official site. In Canada, consumer protections for digital services vary by province and by the specific circumstances of the purchase; there is no single federal “14‑day cooling-off” rule that applies uniformly to online digital subscriptions. Refunds are typically governed by the vendor's stated policy and by provincial consumer laws. Because Mixcloud has not set out a clear refund policy for Canada, Canadian users seeking refunds should contact Mixcloud Support and may consult provincial consumer protection offices if they believe their statutory rights have been breached, but outcomes may vary.
Customer experiences
Reviews of Mixcloud show a mix of positive and negative experiences. Some users report quick, helpful support and fast technical resolutions - comments praise prompt responses and issue resolution within 24 hours. Other users report frustration with unresponsive or unhelpful support and continued technical problems such as playback issues on multiple devices. As with many services, individual experiences vary by case and support interaction.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and username
- Receipt or transaction ID for the subscription payment
- Billing date and plan name
- Screenshot of Settings → Payments → My billing info showing the subscription
- If purchased via Apple/Google, the App Store/Google Play receipt
- Any previous support ticket IDs or correspondence
Common mistakes
Users commonly try to cancel inside the Mixcloud mobile app (which cannot process cancellations) instead of using the website, causing confusion and delay. Another frequent issue is assuming cancellation will trigger an immediate refund - cancellation stops future billing but does not automatically refund the last payment. People also sometimes fail to check which platform charged them (Mixcloud directly vs. Apple or Google), which affects where they must request cancellation or refunds. Finally, not saving receipts or screenshots can make support requests slower to resolve.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Mixcloud website (Settings → Payments) | Refunds not guaranteed; Mixcloud has no public general refund policy for Canada | Easy (cancellation takes a few clicks) |
| Mobile browser (payments link) | Same as website: refunds not guaranteed; contact support | Easy to medium (mobile UI may differ) |
| Apple App Store subscription | Refunds handled by Apple according to App Store policy | Medium (use Apple account / App Store support) |
| Google Play subscription | Refunds handled by Google Play according to Play Store policy | Medium (use Google Play account / Play Store support) |
After cancelling
After you cancel, keep your confirmation (screenshot or email) and monitor your bank or card statement for any unexpected charges. If you need help or want to request a refund, contact Mixcloud Support and provide the documentation checklist items above.
