Cancellation Recime: Easy Method
What is Recime
Recime is a recipe management app that helps users collect, organize and plan meals by saving recipes from social media, websites and personal input. It offers free and premium subscription features such as grocery and meal planning tools intended to streamline recipe discovery and meal preparation.
How to cancel Recime
- For App Store (iOS) subscriptions: on your iPhone or iPad open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → select the Recime subscription → tap “Cancel Subscription.” Cancellation stops automatic renewals but you keep access until the end of the paid period. See the Recime help article: Cancel via App Store.
- For Google Play (Android) subscriptions: open the Google Play app → Menu → Subscriptions → select the ReciMe subscription → tap “Cancel subscription.” See Recime guidance: Cancel via Google Play.
- For subscriptions purchased via Stripe: on mobile open the Recime app → Settings → My Subscription → Manage my subscription; or in a browser use the Recime customer portal link sent to your account email to cancel. See the customer-portal instructions: Cancel via Stripe / customer portal.
- Important: deleting your ReciMe account does not cancel an active subscription. You must cancel the subscription separately with the store or via the customer portal. See: Delete account notice.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a subscription, automatic renewal is stopped so you will not be charged again after the current billing period ends. You retain access to any premium features for the remainder of the paid period. Your account and stored recipes generally remain available unless you explicitly delete your account, but deleting the account is a separate action that does not automatically cancel billing.
Will I get a refund?
Recime’s policy states that in‑app sales are final and refunds are granted only at the company’s discretion. If you subscribed through Apple, Apple handles refund requests - submit them through Apple’s support channels such as reportaproblem.apple.com or getsupport.apple.com. If you subscribed through Google Play, request a refund from Google via your Google Play account → Order history → Request a refund or visit Google Play help. If you subscribed via Stripe (directly to Recime), email support@recime.app with the subject “Refund Request,” include your name, username, billing date and any transaction details; Recime will review and may approve a refund. See Recime’s refund help: Refunds and charges.
Recime plans and pricing
| Plan | Price (CAD) | Period | Features / Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| ReciMe Plus (unspecified variant) | C$69.99 | Unspecified | Premium features - exact duration not listed in store entry |
| ReciMe Plus (other variants) | C$49.99, C$34.99, C$9.99 | Unspecified | Alternative pricing tiers shown in App Store; mapping to specific durations or features is not publicly specified |
Your consumer rights in Canada
ReciMe’s public policy indicates sales are final and refunds are discretionary; it does not advertise a statutory cooling‑off period. In Canada, consumer protection laws are provincially regulated and can include rules around automatic renewals, clear disclosure and unfair practices. If you believe your rights under provincial consumer protection laws have been breached (for example, unclear trial terms or renewal disclosures), you can contact your provincial consumer protection office to ask about options. These offices can advise about complaints, enforcement and potential remedies; keeping receipts and cancellation records will help any complaint you make.
Customer experiences
User feedback is mixed. Many users praise the concept and usability - they like saving recipes from social media and websites, the interface, and integrations for grocery and meal planning. Positive reviews note the app can be inspiring and useful for cooks of different skill levels. At the same time, common criticisms include unexpected subscription charges after trials, unclear trial limits, difficulty cancelling in some cases, app bugs (crashes, slow loading, import failures) and perceptions that pricing is high relative to performance. See example feedback summaries: positive reviews and negative reviews.
Documentation checklist
- Purchase receipt or proof of charge (email or App Store/Google Play transaction)
- Which store handled the purchase (Apple App Store, Google Play, or direct/Stripe)
- Account email or username used with Recime
- Billing or charge date and transaction ID (if available)
- Screenshots of subscription entries, confirmation emails, or renewal notices
- Any correspondence with Recime support or store support about the charge
Common mistakes
Users often assume deleting their account cancels a subscription - it does not. Another frequent issue is waiting until after a renewal to cancel; cancelling before the renewal prevents the next charge. People sometimes request a refund from Recime when the purchase was made through Apple or Google - those platforms require refund requests to be submitted to them. Finally, failing to keep receipts, transaction IDs or screenshots makes disputes and refund requests harder to resolve.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| App Store (iOS) | Refunds handled by Apple - request via reportaproblem.apple.com or Apple Support | Low for cancelling (Settings → Subscriptions); refund outcome varies and is controlled by Apple |
| Google Play (Android) | Refunds handled by Google Play - request via Google Play Order History / support | Low for cancelling (Google Play → Subscriptions); refund outcome controlled by Google |
| Stripe / direct via Recime | Request refund from Recime by emailing support@recime.app; refunds are discretionary | Medium - you must contact Recime and await their review |
After cancelling
After you cancel, watch for a cancellation confirmation email and keep it with your records. Keep receipts and screenshots of the subscription page and any confirmation messages. If you believe you were wrongly charged, follow the refund routes above depending on where you subscribed (Apple, Google, or support@recime.app for Stripe). If you need to escalate, consider contacting your payment provider or your provincial consumer protection office.
