Cancellation Carbonmade: Easy Method
What is Carbonmade
Carbonmade is an online portfolio builder and hosting service aimed at creatives who want to showcase work professionally. It provides templates, site-building tools, and account-based subscription plans to publish and manage a personal portfolio website.
How to cancel Carbonmade
- App Store (iOS): Subscriptions purchased through Apple must be canceled in your Apple ID subscription settings on your device (Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions). Carbonmade cannot cancel App Store subscriptions for you. For details see the Carbonmade help article: Upgrading, downgrading and canceling your subscription.
- Google Play (Android): Subscriptions purchased through Google Play must be managed and canceled in the Google Play app (Menu → Subscriptions). Carbonmade cannot cancel Google Play subscriptions. See the same Carbonmade help article for guidance: Upgrading, downgrading and canceling your subscription.
- Web (Carbonmade site): Log in to your Carbonmade account, go to Account → Plan → "Close Account". You will be prompted for your password to confirm. Closing the account permanently deletes the portfolio and associated content. For details see Carbonmade’s help page: Closing your account. If Carbonmade support does not resolve a billing dispute, you can send a formal written cancellation request to Element6, LLC at the U.S. address below; if you send a physical letter, use a registered letter (raccomandata A/R) for proof of delivery.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a subscription the method and timing depend on where you subscribed. For App Store and Google Play subscriptions, cancellation stops future renewals but the subscription generally remains active until the end of the current paid period. For web subscriptions canceled via Carbonmade settings, the account closure immediately deletes the portfolio and associated data once confirmed. In all cases you lose access to paid features when the paid period ends or the account is closed, and Carbonmade states that deleted accounts and content are permanent.
Will I get a refund?
Carbonmade’s terms state that payments made on the web are final and non‑refundable except at Carbonmade’s sole discretion. If Carbonmade or you terminate the service, any unused time is forfeited and there is no refund obligation. For subscriptions billed through Apple or Google, refunds are governed by Apple’s or Google’s policies and must be requested from those providers; Carbonmade cannot issue refunds for those purchases. Canadian consumers who believe a policy conflicts with local law may pursue disputes with their payment provider, credit card issuer, or a consumer protection office.

Your consumer rights in Canada
Canadian consumer protection laws can provide additional rights for remote digital sales, including potential cooling‑off periods (commonly 14 days) in some provinces unless an exemption applies. Carbonmade’s posted “all sales final” policy may not override statutory protections under federal or provincial law - particularly if renewals, cancellations, or billing disclosures were not clear. If you are in Canada and believe Carbonmade’s terms or practices violate your statutory rights, you can request a refund from the merchant, dispute the charge with your payment provider or card issuer, and file a complaint with your provincial consumer protection office. Quebec and other provinces may have stronger protections for digital goods and automatic renewals.
Customer experiences
User feedback is mixed. Some customers report Carbonmade is easy to use and helpful for building a clean portfolio quickly, and that support has accommodated some feature requests. Other users report more serious problems: being billed after they believed they canceled, difficulty canceling when the subscription was purchased through an app store, slow or unresponsive support, and trouble recovering or exporting content before account closure. Public reviews on platforms like Trustpilot and PissedConsumer show recurring complaints focused on billing and customer service responsiveness.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and username; order or subscription ID; screenshots or PDFs of receipts and billing statements; confirmation of cancellation or subscription screenshots; dates of attempted cancellations; any support ticket numbers or correspondence; and a local backup or exported copy of your portfolio (download before closing your account).
Common mistakes
Common errors include assuming a cancellation on the Carbonmade website cancels an App Store or Google Play subscription (it does not), failing to cancel via the platform used to subscribe, and closing the Carbonmade account before exporting your images and data. Another frequent issue is not keeping receipts or screenshots of cancellation attempts, which weakens evidence when disputing charges with payment processors.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| App Store (iOS) | Refunds handled by Apple per their policy; Carbonmade cannot refund. | Medium - cancel in Apple ID subscriptions; request refunds from Apple. |
| Google Play (Android) | Refunds handled by Google per their policy; Carbonmade cannot refund. | Medium - cancel in Google Play subscriptions; request refunds from Google. |
| Web (Carbonmade site) | Payments are final per Carbonmade terms; refunds only at Carbonmade’s discretion. | Low - cancel via Account → Plan → "Close Account", but account/data deletion is immediate. |
After cancelling
Before canceling, export or back up any portfolio content you want to keep. After cancellation, confirm that billing has stopped by checking your bank or card statements for subsequent charges. If you are charged after cancellation, contact the payment platform (Apple, Google, or your card issuer) and submit the documentation checklist items. For help pages see Carbonmade’s support articles on cancelling and closing accounts: subscription help and closing your account. If disputes remain unresolved, consider contacting your provincial consumer protection office or filing a payment dispute with your bank.
