Cancellation Filterly: Easy Method
What is Filterly
Filterly is a subscription-based app/service that offers photo-filtering and related premium features under several paid plans. Subscriptions can be purchased directly via the Filterly website or through in-app purchases on Apple App Store or Google Play; the company’s published Terms of Use and pricing pages describe renewal and cancellation conditions.
How to cancel Filterly
- Web (direct via Filterly): Email support@filterly.app with your account details and clear instruction that you wish to terminate your subscription effective at the end of the minimum contract term or the current renewal term. You may also send a signed cancellation letter by registered post to the postal address below. See Terms of Use: filterly.app/terms.
- App Store / in‑app (iOS / Google Play): Cancel through your device’s store subscription settings (Apple ID subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions). For App Store (iTunes) purchases a 24‑hour notice before the subscription end is requested for technical reasons; current in‑app subscriptions cannot be terminated mid‑term. If store cancellation fails, follow up with an email to support@filterly.app.
What happens when you cancel
Cancellation is typically effective at the end of your minimum contract term or at the end of the current renewal period; you will generally retain access until that date. Deleting your user account requires emailing support, but deleting an account may remove access to stored data and content. Filterly’s Terms of Use state that amounts already paid are not refunded when an account or subscription is canceled (subject to any applicable legal revocation rights).
Will I get a refund?
Filterly’s published policy is that payments already made are not refunded when you cancel outside any statutory revocation window. Where a statutory "right of revocation" applies (for example the EU 14‑day revocation right described in Filterly’s terms), you may be able to revoke the contract within 14 days of start and receive a refund. That specific revocation right is stated in the Terms of Use but applies according to local law and is not automatically available in Canada. For credit‑based versions of Filterly, credits are generally non‑refundable unless required by law. If you believe you were charged after cancellation or without authorization, you may need to contact your payment provider or card issuer to dispute the charge.
Filterly plans and pricing
| Plan | Price | Period | Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Filterly Premium | USD 19.99 | Unknown (likely weekly/monthly) | Unlimited access after trial |
| Premium | USD 14.99 | Unknown | Subscription tier |
| Filterly Premium (longer term) | USD 69.99 | Likely annual | Extended access |
| Filterly Premium (weekly) | USD 8.99 | Likely weekly | Weekly access |
Your consumer rights in Canada
Canadian federal and provincial consumer protection laws do not automatically mirror the EU 14‑day digital revocation right. In Canada, there is not generally a statutory automatic refund right for used digital subscriptions purchased remotely, unless the seller’s representations are deceptive or the transaction breaches provincial consumer protection rules. If you believe you were misled, charged after cancellation, or otherwise subjected to unfair practices, you can dispute charges with your card issuer, request a chargeback, and file a complaint with the Competition Bureau of Canada or your provincial consumer protection office. Filterly’s own policies do not specify Canada‑specific refund guarantees, so exercising payment disputes and filing complaints are common routes for Canadian consumers.
Customer experiences
Public reviews (for example on Trustpilot) are recurring patterns of negative: multiple reviewers report continued charges after attempted cancellation, difficulty cancelling via the App Store or Google Play, and lack of helpful or timely support responses. There appear to be no positive Trustpilot entries for Filterly; many reviewers label the service a scam and report needing to involve banks to stop charges. These reports indicate you should keep careful records when cancelling and monitor your payment statements afterward.
Documentation checklist
- Account email, username, subscription ID or transaction ID, and date of purchase/renewal
- Screenshot or copy of the subscription settings showing the product and renewal date
- Copies of any cancellation emails or registered‑mail receipts sent to support
- Payment receipts, bank or card statements showing the charge(s)
- Any correspondence with Filterly support and timestamps
Common mistakes
Common errors include assuming deleting the app or your account automatically cancels the subscription (it usually does not), cancelling in the wrong place (for in‑app purchases you must cancel via the store, not the website), failing to keep proof of cancellation, and waiting until after an automatic renewal to act. Several reviewers also report attempting to cancel via the App Store or Google Play but seeing charges continue; if you run into that situation, document everything and consider contacting your payment provider promptly.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Web (direct via Filterly / email support) | Unlikely (no refund for paid periods per terms; EU‑style revocation may apply only in relevant jurisdictions) | Moderate - cancellation is possible but reviews report slow/unresponsive support |
| App Store / in‑app (Apple / Google) | Possible only under Apple/Google refund policies; otherwise typically no refund from Filterly | High - users report difficulty and continuing charges despite store cancellation |
| Payment dispute / chargeback via bank or card issuer | Possible - depends on issuer and evidence of unauthorized/continued charges | Medium - High - may require documentation and time, but often effective for stopping charges |
After cancelling
After you send a cancellation request, keep copies of your cancellation message, any confirmation, and your bank/card statements. If charges continue, contact your card issuer to dispute the charge and consider filing a complaint with Canadian authorities.
