Cancellation Evo: Easy Method
What is Evo
Evo operates two related lines of business relevant to Canadian customers: Evo Car Share (a vehicle- and micromobility-sharing service) and evo.com (an online retailer selling outdoor gear). Evo Car Share offers on-demand bookings, membership plans and pay-per-use driving rates; evo.com sells products online with its own order, shipping and return policies.
How to cancel Evo
Below are concise, context-specific steps for canceling a car share booking or membership and for attempting to cancel an online order. Follow the steps that match your purchase type.
- Cancel a car share booking: Open the Evo app and cancel the booking. Cancelling more than six hours before the booking start is free; cancelling within six hours may incur up to 50% of the booking cost, and no-shows are charged in full.
- Cancel a membership / subscription: To cancel membership, contact Evo by email or chat to request cancellation. To stop a subscription (recurring billing), log into your account or the app and switch to the Free Plan at least one day before the renewal date.
- Cancel an evo.com order (shopping): Orders cannot generally be cancelled online after they are placed. Check your Order History immediately - some orders can be cancelled there briefly. If not, call Evo customer service right away to try to stop shipment. If the order has already shipped, follow the returns process instead.
What happens when you cancel
If you cancel a car share booking in the app before the penalty window, the reservation is released and no charge applies. If you cancel within the penalty window, Evo may retain up to 50% of the booking cost; no-shows are charged the full booking. When you cancel membership, your account access will end or be set to the Free Plan depending on the request and timing; recurring subscription charges stop only if you change the plan before renewal. For evo.com orders, cancellation before shipment results in an order reversal where possible; if shipment has occurred the order continues and must be returned under the normal returns flow.
Will I get a refund?
For evo.com product purchases, Evo’s policy allows returns for a full refund within 366 days for non-Final-Sale items provided they are returned in original condition with tags and packaging; refunds go to the original payment method or, if that method is invalid, an Evo gift card. Processing typically takes 3 - 5 business days after the returned item is received. For Evo Car Share, fees, booking charges and other amounts are generally non-refundable except where legally required; booking refunds depend on timing (free if canceled >6 hours before, up to 50% charged within 6 hours, no refund for no-shows).

Your consumer rights in Canada
Evo’s published policies do not explicitly cite a Canadian 14-day cooling-off period. For online purchases, Evo’s 366-day return window for eligible items is more generous than typical statutory minimums in Canada, but statutory rights (such as those related to faulty goods or their implied conditions) still apply. For memberships and car-share services, Evo permits cancellation but states fees are non-refundable except where required by law; that means if provincial or federal consumer protection rules mandate a refund in a particular circumstance, those rules would take precedence. If you import goods from Evo (U.S.-origin items shipped to Canada), duties, taxes and brokerage fees are usually the buyer’s responsibility and are typically not refundable by the merchant.
Customer experiences
Trustpilot reviews for evo.com frequently praise product selection, quality, competitive pricing and generally reliable, fast shipping, along with helpful customer service and an easy-to-use site. Negative feedback includes delayed deliveries, order confusion, occasional sizing-chart mismatches and slow shipping updates. Canadian customers on forums such as Reddit note recurring issues with duties, brokerage fees and import costs when ordering across the border, and some recommend buying from Canadian retailers to avoid those extra charges.
Documentation checklist
- Booking ID or reservation number (for car-share cancellations)
- Order number and order history screenshot (for evo.com orders)
- Account email and full name used on the account
- Payment proof (credit card statement, PayPal receipt)
- Membership ID or screenshot of membership status
- Photos of the item and tags (for returns or condition disputes)
- Shipment tracking numbers and return tracking receipts
- Copies/screenshots of any chat or email correspondence with Evo support
Common mistakes
Timing errors are frequent: cancelling a car share booking within six hours of start without realizing the penalty can lead to unexpected charges, and forgetting to switch a subscription to the Free Plan at least one day before renewal results in another billed term. Some shoppers assume all online orders can be cancelled through the website after placement; in many cases the cancel window is brief or requires phone help. Customers sometimes neglect duties and brokerage fees when ordering from evo.com’s U.S. store to Canada and are surprised by import costs. For product returns, sending items back without original tags or packaging can result in partial or denied refunds.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Car Share booking (app) | Free if cancelled >6 hours before; up to 50% charged if within 6 hours; no refund for no-shows | Easy if done before the cutoff; timing-sensitive |
| Membership cancellation | Fees generally non-refundable except where law requires | Easy to request via email/chat; subscription changes must be made before renewal |
| evo.com order cancellation | Possible if cancelled before shipment; if shipped you must return for refund within 366 days (unless Final Sale) | Medium to high - limited online cancel window; may require phone support or returns process |
After cancelling
After you cancel, keep confirmation screenshots, emails or chat transcripts until any refund or account change has posted and you’ve verified your bank statement. For evo.com returns, follow the returns instructions and use tracked shipping so you can prove delivery; expect refunds to take 3 - 5 business days after the return is received.
