Cancellation Akool: Easy Method
What is Akool
Akool is a subscription-based AI content platform that offers tools such as AI avatars, translation and video generation. It is provided as a web/hosted service and may also be available through mobile app stores; features and billing vary by plan and channel.
How to cancel Akool
- Email cancellation (web/hosted subscriptions): Send an email to info@akool.com requesting cancellation. Include your account email, subscription ID (if available), the date of last charge, and a clear statement that you want to cancel. Make the request at least 24 hours before your next renewal to avoid another charge.
- App Store (iOS) subscriptions: If you subscribed through Apple, manage and cancel the subscription through your Apple ID subscription settings; Akool does not process iOS cancellations directly.
- Google Play subscriptions: If you subscribed through Google Play, cancel via Google Play’s subscription settings; Akool’s web team cannot cancel Google Play subscriptions for you.
- By post (optional): If you prefer a written paper notice, send a registered letter (raccomandata A/R) to the company address (see final section). Keep the proof of delivery.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a web/hosted Akool subscription, the subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period and will not renew. You retain access to your paid features until that expiry date; data associated with your account typically remains available under normal account policies, but you should export anything you need before access ends. For subscriptions billed through Apple or Google, the app-store subscription will end according to that store’s billing cycle after you cancel in their system.
Will I get a refund?
Akool’s web-purchase policy generally does not issue cash refunds for accidental purchases or for failing to cancel in time. Fee disputes must be submitted within 30 days of the charge; any refunds that are granted for eligible disputes are normally issued as account credits rather than cash. Disputes older than 90 days are not eligible under Akool’s published terms. Fees paid for trials are stated to be non-refundable.
If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, refunds and their conditions are determined by Apple or Google respectively - contact Apple or Google support or use their refund request processes. If Akool’s cancellation mechanism is non-functional or the company fails to respond, you may also consider contacting your payment provider to raise a dispute, but outcomes vary by bank and card issuer.
Akool plans and pricing
| Plan | Price (CAD) | Period | Features / Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro | C$40.00 | Monthly | Full Pro tier features: no watermark, 4K video, ~600 credits |
| Pro | C$349.99 | Yearly | Full Pro tier features with annual billing |
Your consumer rights in Canada
Canadian consumer protection recognizes that the 14-day "cooling-off" period commonly does not apply to digital services that are delivered immediately and when cancellation instructions are provided. That means there is generally no statutory right to a refund for a fully delivered digital subscription like Akool. However, provinces and the federal framework prohibit unfair business practices, including hidden auto-renewals, misleading cancellation processes, or non-functional cancellation mechanisms. If a company does not honor cancellation or refund commitments, or if its cancellation tools are deceptive or broken, those actions may be reviewed by provincial consumer protection agencies or considered deceptive under consumer protection laws. You may also raise issues with your financial institution if you believe charges are improper.
Customer experiences
User feedback on Akool is mixed. Many users praise the platform’s ease of use, innovative AI tools (avatars, translation), and the quality of output. On the other hand, a notable portion of customers report difficulty canceling - examples include unresponsive support, cancel buttons that do not work, unexpected renewals, credits that expire or are hard to use, and charges occurring despite selecting free trials. These negative reports often focus on customer-service response times and account/credit management.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and username, subscription ID or order number (if available)
- Date(s) of charges and billing statements (screenshots or PDFs)
- Copy of your cancellation request (email text) and any replies
- Screenshot showing the active subscription or renewal date
- Proof of registered mail (if you sent a letter) or delivery receipt
Common mistakes
Consumers frequently make avoidable errors such as: missing the 24-hour cutoff before a renewal and therefore being billed for the next period; emailing the wrong address or using an in-app cancel when the subscription was purchased via Apple or Google; not saving screenshots or confirmation messages as evidence; and assuming a free trial will automatically prevent charges without confirming trial terms. Another common issue is relying on customer support replies that never arrive - keep copies and follow up through your payment provider if necessary.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Web / Hosted (email to info@akool.com) | Refunds generally not issued; eligible disputes submitted within 30 days may receive account credit; trials non-refundable | Low - Moderate (straightforward to request; outcomes may be limited) |
| App Store (iOS) | Refunds handled by Apple under Apple’s policies | Low for cancellation; refund outcome varies with Apple’s review |
| Google Play | Refunds handled by Google under Google Play policies | Low for cancellation; refund outcome varies with Google’s review |
| Bank / card dispute (chargeback) | Possible, depending on issuer and evidence | Moderate - High (can be time-consuming and may have implications) |
After cancelling
After you cancel, keep copies of your cancellation confirmation, billing statements, and any correspondence. If you need to request a refund or dispute a charge, act quickly - Akool’s dispute window is 30 days for initial submissions and 90 days is referenced for eligibility. For App Store or Google Play subscriptions, use Apple’s or Google’s support links to request refunds or manage subscriptions. If Akool does not respond or you believe the company engaged in deceptive practices, consider contacting your payment provider and filing a complaint with your provincial consumer protection office.
