Cancellation Miro: Easy Method
What is Miro
Short description
Miro is an online collaborative whiteboard platform for teams to brainstorm, plan, and run workshops in real time.
It provides templates, visual tools, and integrations to help distributed teams map processes and capture ideas collectively.
Main uses
Teams use Miro for workshops, retrospectives, journey mapping, diagramming, and visual collaboration across disciplines.
Miro supports both free and paid subscriptions with additional workspace, security, and integration features on paid plans.
How to cancel Miro
Via web (Browser / Desktop)
- Only Team Admins, Billing Admins, or Company Admins can cancel subscriptions for Starter or Business plans.
- Sign in to Miro, open Admin console → Billing → Cancel subscription and follow on-screen prompts.
- Access to paid features remains until the end of the current billing cycle; boards become view-only afterward.
- See Miro's cancellation article for official details: How to Cancel Your Subscription.
Via mobile stores (iOS / Android)
- If you subscribed through Apple’s App Store, cancel using your Apple subscription settings; Miro cannot cancel App Store subscriptions for you.
- If you subscribed through Google Play on Android, cancel via the Google Play subscription interface; Miro cannot cancel Google Play subscriptions for you.
- For general guidance about store-managed cancellations, see a summary here: How to cancel Miro (Postclic).
What happens when you cancel
Access and visibility
After cancellation you retain paid access until the end of the current billing period.
When the paid period ends, boards that require paid features typically become view-only for non-paying users.
Billing, seats and data
Automatic renewals stop after cancellation for web subscriptions; you will not be charged for future cycles unless you resubscribe.
Your boards and data remain in the account according to Miro’s data retention; you can export data before downgrade if needed.
Will I get a refund?
Miro refund policy
Miro’s standard policy is not to issue refunds for unused time after you cancel; access continues until the billing cycle ends.
Refunds are possible only on a case-by-case basis via support requests; they are not guaranteed. See Miro’s help article: How to Cancel Your Subscription.
Store purchases and exceptions
If you purchased via the Apple App Store or Google Play, refund rules are governed by Apple or Google respectively; Miro cannot directly issue refunds for those purchases.
If you cancelled during a 14‑day Business Plan trial, cancellation within the trial reverts you to the prior or free plan without charge (per available summaries).

Your consumer rights in India
Key rights under Indian law
Under Indian consumer protection law, users have the right to clear billing terms, cancellation access, and a fair refund process.
Automatic charges after cancellation or lack of transparent billing may be treated as unfair trade practices under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Practical actions available
- Dispute unauthorized charges with your bank or card provider (chargeback) if you were billed after cancellation.
- Escalate unresolved billing or refund issues to consumer forums or grievance redressal mechanisms in India.
- For App Store/Google Play purchases, use Apple/Google refund channels in addition to other remedies.
Customer experiences
Positive feedback
Many reviewers praise Miro for enabling remote collaboration, strong templates, and useful visual tools for workshops and planning.
Examples of positive user feedback are visible on review platforms such as Trustpilot: Miro reviews on Trustpilot.
Common complaints
- Multiple reviewers report issues with billing transparency, automatic seat charges, and unexpected upgrades after trials.
- There are reports of frustration with support response and difficulty removing saved payment methods; these are recurring themes in public reviews.
Documentation checklist
Before cancelling
- Account email and role (confirm you are Team/Billing/Company Admin).
- Subscription ID or billing reference from Miro billing page or invoices.
- Recent invoices or receipts showing charges and renewal dates.
If you need a refund or dispute
- Screenshots of cancellation confirmation screens or emails.
- Bank or card statements showing unauthorized charges.
- Copies of correspondence with Miro support and case/ticket numbers.
Common mistakes
Typical errors
Users sometimes attempt to cancel without being an admin; only designated admins can cancel team/company subscriptions.
Other mistakes include cancelling in Miro while the subscription was purchased via App Store or Google Play - which does not stop store billing.
How to avoid them
Check who the billing admin is before attempting cancellation and verify the purchase channel (web vs App Store vs Google Play).
Save invoices and the cancellation confirmation; verify your card or bank is no longer being charged after the billing cycle ends.
Comparative recap
