Cancellation Tpg: Easy Method
What is Tpg
Overview
TPG (branded SIMBA in Singapore for some services) is a subscription-based mobile and broadband provider operating in Australia and Singapore. It offers SIM-only mobile plans and fibre broadband with competitive pricing.
Services in Singapore
In Singapore, some offerings are marketed under the SIMBA brand and follow SIMBA/TPG service and termination policies. Plans include monthly SIM-only options and fibre broadband packages.
How to cancel Tpg
Primary online/email route
- Submit a plan termination request via the webform or by emailing service@simba.sg.
- SIMBA will acknowledge within 2 business days and process the request within 7 business days.
Timing and notice
- Send your request at least 7 business days before your next billing renewal to avoid being charged for the next cycle.
- If you cancel within 30 days of activation, an activation fee of S$30 applies (see activation-period rule).
What happens when you cancel
Service access and billing
Your service will continue through any required notice period while the termination request is processed.
If a termination request is submitted early enough (see notice timing) you should not be billed for the next cycle.
Equipment and porting
Customers are not required to return equipment when cancelling SIMBA/TPG services in Singapore.
If you port your number out or terminate within 30 days of activation, the S$30 activation fee applies.
Will I get a refund?
General refund policy
All payments and unused SIMBA Wallet credits are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash under SIMBA/TPG policy.
This is the default stance unless the provider explicitly states otherwise for a particular case.
Exceptions and early-termination specifics
- Broadband: if terminated before end of contract, the customer is charged for the remaining 30-day cycles; amounts already paid are non-refundable.
- Statutory exceptions: remedies for defective or misrepresented services may apply under Singapore law (see Consumer Rights section).

Your consumer rights in Singapore
Statutory protections
Under Singapore’s Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act (CPFTA) and the Lemon Law, consumers have remedies for defective or misrepresented goods and services.
Remedies can include repair, replacement, or refund for qualifying defects within the law’s timeframe (typically six months for some claims).
Limitations on change-of-mind refunds
- There is no automatic 14-day cooling-off refund right in Singapore unless the provider offers it in writing.
- TPG/SIMBA’s stated policy is no refunds for change of mind; statutory remedies apply only for defects or misrepresentation.
Customer experiences
Positive experiences
- Some users report good value for money and generous roaming/data allowances over long usage periods.
- A small number described straightforward cancellations by phone with minimal delay.
Negative experiences
- Many customers report poor customer service: slow or unresponsive support and delayed cancellations.
- Complaints include extra verification requirements, residual billing after termination, and coverage issues (especially indoor/underground).
For user reviews and community feedback see Trustpilot and Seedly pages linked below.
Documentation checklist
Required information
- Full name and account holder details as registered with SIMBA/TPG.
- Mobile number or broadband account number and plan name.
Helpful supporting documents
- Order confirmation or invoice.
- Proof of identity (copy/photo of NRIC or passport) if requested by support.
- Screenshots of chats, emails, or termination confirmations.
Common mistakes
Missing the notice window
Waiting until too close to your billing renewal can cause you to be charged for the next cycle. Submit termination at least 7 business days before renewal.
Assuming automatic refunds or returns
Many customers assume a 14-day cooling-off period or refundable balances; SIMBA/TPG policy states payments and SIMBA Wallet credits are non-refundable.
Also, do not assume equipment must be returned - SIMBA states equipment return is not required.
Comparative recap
Quick comparison table
The table below summarizes key items to check before cancelling.
| Aspect | SIMBA/TPG policy | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| How to cancel | Webform or email service@simba.sg; processed within 7 business days | Save acknowledgement and processing reference |
| Refunds | Payments and SIMBA Wallet credits are non-refundable | Confirm no refundable balance before cancelling |
| Activation window | S$30 fee if cancelled or ported out within 30 days | Check activation date on your order |
| Broadband early termination | Charged for remaining 30‑day cycles; amounts paid are non-refundable | Check contract end date and remaining cycles |
| Equipment | No return required | Keep documentation proving equipment ownership |
| Customer service reputation | Mixed: some quick experiences but many complaints (TrustScore low) | Document every contact and escalate if unresolved |
After cancelling
Confirmations to keep
- Keep the email acknowledgement and any reference numbers until billing and final statements are confirmed.
- Monitor your bank/card statements for any residual charges for at least one billing cycle.
