Cancellation Slack: Easy Method
What is Slack
Overview
Slack is a subscription-based collaboration platform for teams that offers channels, direct messages, file sharing and integrations with many apps.
It is used to centralise team communication, coordinate work and connect external services into a single workspace.
Who manages billing
Billing and subscription controls are managed at the workspace level by the Workspace Owner or an Admin with billing permissions.
Individual members typically cannot change workspace subscriptions unless they hold billing roles.
How to cancel Slack
Cancel from the web (workspace-level)
- Workspace Owner/Admin logs into slack.com.
- Go to Billing → Change subscription details → Downgrade to Free.
- Access continues until the end of the current billing period; unused funds may sometimes convert to Slack credits (non-cash, non-transferable).
Cancel on mobile app stores
- iOS: Cancel via your Apple ID settings; you cannot cancel a subscription inside the Slack iOS app.
- Android: Cancel via Google Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- App Store and Google Play cancellation and refund rules apply to purchases made through those stores.
Where to get help
If you need step-by-step help or have account-specific questions, contact Slack support through your workspace or billing contact.
For third-party guidance on cancellation procedures, see a verified guide at Postclic - How to cancel Slack.
What happens when you cancel
Access and features
When you downgrade or cancel, your workspace keeps access until the end of the current billing period.
After the billing period ends, the workspace reverts to the Free tier limits (message history, app integrations and storage will be subject to Free plan limits).
Billing and credits
Slack generally preserves access through the paid period you already paid for; the unused portion is not usually refunded in cash.
In some circumstances downgrading may generate Slack credits that are non-cash and non-transferable and expire under Slack’s policy.
Will I get a refund?
Standard policy
Slack generally does not provide refunds or pro rata credits for unused time or partial billing periods.
Access normally remains until the end of the billing cycle after cancellation.
Exceptions and platform purchases
- Purchases through Apple App Store or Google Play are subject to those stores’ refund and cancellation rules.
- Downgrades can sometimes result in Slack credits (non-cash, non-transferable) instead of refunds.
- If local consumer law requires a refund, that local law may override Slack’s standard policy; contact Slack support to request review.

Slack plans and pricing
Where to check prices
Slack publishes pricing details on its official site for your region; always check the official page for up-to-date information.
Official pricing for Singapore visitors is listed on Slack’s site; do not rely on unofficial estimates for billing decisions.
Currency and local pricing
Slack currently lists prices in USD for users in Singapore; official SGD prices may not be shown.
Do not assume or invent exact local prices - verify on the official Slack pricing page at Slack - Pricing (Singapore).
Your consumer rights in Singapore
Legal context
Under Singapore’s Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act (CPFTA), consumers may have statutory rights when services involve unfair practices.
These rights can affect refund or cancellation entitlements if local law deems the vendor’s terms unfair or misleading.
How to proceed
- If you believe CPFTA or other local law applies, gather transaction records and contact Slack support to request review.
- If you do not get a satisfactory response, you may consider seeking local consumer advice or submitting a complaint to the relevant Singapore authorities.
Customer experiences
Positive feedback (summary)
Many users praise Slack for being simple, efficient and easy to use for internal messaging and team communication.
Users note a clean interface and helpful integrations as strong points.
Negative feedback (summary)
Some users report billing and support issues, unexpected charges and slow or unresponsive support in certain cases.
Performance, notifications and app ecosystem complaints have been raised by other users.
Where reviews are recorded
Public reviews and user comments about Slack are available on review sites such as Trustpilot.
For examples of both positive and negative reviews see Trustpilot’s Slack page at Slack reviews on Trustpilot.
Documentation checklist
Before you cancel
- Workspace billing account details (email, billing contact).
- Proof of payment or invoice for the current billing period.
- List of paid users or seats to confirm who will be affected.
When requesting refunds or disputes
- Transaction IDs and dates of charges.
- Screenshots of billing pages or receipts.
- Correspondence with Slack support, including ticket numbers if any.
Common mistakes
Cancelling the wrong subscription
Users sometimes cancel a personal or different workspace subscription by mistake instead of the intended workspace.
Verify you are signed in as the Workspace Owner or an Admin with billing privileges before making changes.
Expecting immediate cash refunds
Many users expect immediate pro rata refunds after downgrading; Slack typically preserves access to the paid period and does not issue cash refunds.
If you purchased via the App Store or Google Play, follow their refund processes rather than expecting Slack to refund directly.
Relying on in-app cancellation on iOS
Some assume they can cancel subscriptions from inside the Slack iOS app; Apple requires cancellation via Apple ID settings instead.
Follow the App Store or Google Play steps for mobile subscriptions to avoid confusion.
Comparative recap
Quick comparison
