How to cancel Vox

Service-specific notice periods

• Home Fibre: provide one full calendar month’s notice. The 1st of the month does not count as a clear notice day. See: How to cancel fibre.
• Wireless (link installations): PTmP installations require one clear calendar month’s notice; PTP installations require three months’ notice. See: Cancel a wireless link.
• Fixed-term contracts: individual consumers may terminate with at least 20 business days’ written notice (subject to cancellation fees and arrears) per Vox Terms & Conditions.

What happens when you cancel

Service access and billing

Once Vox processes your written cancellation, your service end date will reflect the applicable notice period and any fixed-term obligations.

You remain liable for charges up to the official cancellation date and for any arrears or reasonable cancellation fees under the contract.

Equipment and collections

Vox arranges collection of routers and other Vox-owned equipment after cancellation; they provide a free first-attempt collection.

If equipment is not returned, Vox may charge the full replacement value for the hardware.

Will I get a refund?

General refund position

Vox’s public help pages do not state a general 14-day e‑commerce style refund right for services.

Refunds depend on the reason for cancellation, contract terms, and whether any charges were waived initially.

Common exceptions and charges

• If you cancel within 12 months of activation, Vox may "claw back" previously waived installation/setup charges (i.e. charge you rather than refund).

• Final billing adjustments, outstanding fees and cancellation fees (where permitted by the contract and law) can reduce or eliminate any refund.

Your consumer rights in South Africa

Termination under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA)

Under the CPA, individual consumers may terminate fixed-term agreements with at least 20 business days’ written notice.

Termination may be subject to reasonable cancellation fees and payment of any arrears as provided in the contract.

Other rights and remedies

• If Vox raises prices so the service becomes unaffordable, you may terminate with 20 business days’ notice without penalty (per Vox T&Cs).
• If Vox materially breaches the contract and fails to remedy within 20 business days, you may cancel without penalty.
• If services are unavailable for more than four weeks due to uncontrollable events, you may terminate the affected service without penalty.
