Cancellation service N°1 in United States

Cancellation Course Hero: Easy Method
What is Course Hero
Course Hero is an online learning platform that offers study documents, practice problems, textbook solutions and on-demand tutoring to students. Memberships provide access to a library of user-uploaded materials and paid features such as document unlocks and tutor questions.
The service is operated by Learneo, Inc. (Course Hero) and is governed by its terms of use; pricing and refund policies vary by purchase method (web, Apple App Store, Google Play) and by local consumer protection laws in Canada, including specific rules for Québec.
How to cancel Course Hero
- Web (Course Hero website): Log in to your account → go to Settings → click “Stop Recurring Membership” → follow the on‑screen steps. Cancellation on the web is typically effective within up to 7 business days. For details see Course Hero’s cancellation article: How can I cancel my Course Hero subscription?
- iOS (App Store / iTunes): Cancel through your Apple ID / iTunes account; Apple handles billing and refunds for purchases made through the App Store. If you need billing help, contact Apple Support: see Course Hero’s guidance at How can I cancel my Course Hero subscription?
- Android (Google Play): Cancel the subscription in your Google Play account; Google handles billing and refund requests for Play purchases. See Course Hero’s guidance at the same support article above.
- Written notice (recommended for Québec or if you prefer paper): Send a written cancellation or the company’s cancellation form to Learneo, Inc. (Course Hero), 2261 Market Street #10569, San Francisco, CA 94114, United States. For proof, use registered mail with return receipt (raccomandata A/R) or another tracked method.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a recurring membership via the Course Hero website, your subscription will stop future automatic renewals and remain active until the end of the current paid period or as otherwise specified by Course Hero; web cancellations are generally processed within up to 7 business days. If you cancel through Apple or Google, the cancellation takes effect according to Apple’s or Google’s subscription rules and you may retain access until the end of the paid term managed by those stores.
Course Hero retains account data according to its terms; cancelling a subscription does not necessarily delete uploaded documents or your account. If you have questions about data retention or account deletion, contact Course Hero support through their help center.
Will I get a refund?
Course Hero’s posted policy states that “all payments are final” except under the Money Back Guarantee or as required by law. The Money Back Guarantee allows refund requests within 30 days of purchase if eligibility rules are met (typically no more than five subscription unlocks used, no more than one tutor question asked, and you have not previously used the refund guarantee). Introductory trial refunds must be requested within 3 days and are limited (no more than three subscription unlocks and one tutor question).
Refund processing normally takes 3 - 7 business days to process and may take up to 9 business days to appear on your statement. Refunds for PayPal payments return to your PayPal account and must be transferred to your bank manually. For purchases through Apple or Google Play, billing and refund handling are managed by Apple or Google and you must contact them for refunds and billing disputes.
Course Hero plans and pricing

Your consumer rights in Canada
Course Hero’s terms are generally governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada; however, Québec consumers have additional statutory protections under Québec’s Consumer Protection Act. In Québec you may cancel a contract within 14 days of the initial subscription and are entitled to a refund proportional to the unused portion of the service. If cancellation occurs after service began, the merchant may deduct the portion of the service already provided and, depending on circumstances, an amount up to $50 or 10% of the unfinished service. By law in Québec the merchant must refund within 10 days after cancellation.
Customer experiences
User feedback is mixed. Many students report that Course Hero provides useful study documents, a straightforward interface and the ability to upload their own materials. Positive reviewers appreciate flexible access to supplemental resources and occasional tutor help. See examples of positive feedback on review sites such as Capterra.
Negative reports are common as well: complaints include unexpected auto‑billing, difficulty cancelling (or being billed after cancellation), charge disputes, account lockouts, and disputed refund denials. Major review sites such as Trustpilot, BBB and Capterra include consumer reports describing these issues, so it is wise to keep careful records of cancellation attempts and billing notices.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and username; order number or receipt (transaction ID)
- Date(s) of purchase and of any renewal charges you dispute (screenshots of bank/credit card/PayPal statements)
- Evidence of cancellation attempts (screenshots of account settings, confirmation emails)
- For Apple/Google purchases: a copy of the App Store/Google Play transaction record
- For Québec cancellations: a dated written notice and proof of delivery (registered mail receipt) if you sent mail
Common mistakes
Many customers try to cancel on the Course Hero website while their subscription was purchased through Apple or Google; in those cases web cancellation does not stop store-managed renewals - always cancel via the store used to make the purchase. Another common error is failing to save or capture confirmation screens and emails, which makes refund or dispute requests harder to prove. Waiting too long to request a Money Back Guarantee refund (beyond 30 days for standard purchases or beyond 3 days for introductory trials) or exceeding the unlock/tutor-question limits will typically make you ineligible for that guarantee.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Web (Course Hero website) | Refunds possible under Money Back Guarantee or as required by law; processing 3 - 7 business days (may take up to 9) | Moderate |
| App Store (iOS / iTunes) | Refunds handled by Apple; must request through Apple | Variable; depends on Apple’s policies (often more restrictive) |
| Google Play (Android) | Refunds handled by Google Play; must request through Google | Variable; depends on Google Play policies |
| Written notice / Mail (recommended for Québec) | In Québec: refund equals price minus cost of service already provided; merchant must refund within 10 days | Low - Moderate if you use tracked/registered mail and keep proof |
After cancelling
After you cancel, keep copies of your cancellation confirmation, transaction receipts and any correspondence. If you believe you qualify for a refund under the Money Back Guarantee, submit your request promptly via Course Hero support and include the documentation listed above. For billing or refund issues tied to an App Store or Google Play purchase, contact Apple Support or Google Play Support respectively and provide the store transaction ID.
