Cancellation Cookidoo: Easy Method
What is Cookidoo
Cookidoo® is Vorwerk’s online recipe and cooking-platform service for Thermomix® users, offering guided recipes, collections and search tools tied to a subscription. It can be accessed via the Cookidoo website, mobile apps and in‑app purchases through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
How to cancel Cookidoo
- Web (Cookidoo.ca): Log into your Cookidoo® account on cookidoo.ca → Account → Membership → click “Cancel Membership”. Access normally continues until the end of the 12‑month subscription term; the subscription will not renew thereafter. See Cookidoo cancellation article for details.
- App Store (iOS in‑app purchase): Subscriptions and refunds are handled by Apple. Request cancellations or refunds through Apple’s subscription and refund process; Cookidoo cannot cancel or refund App Store charges directly. See Vorwerk’s guidance at service.thermomix.com.
- Google Play (Android in‑app purchase): Subscriptions and refunds are handled by Google Play. Use Google Play’s subscription management and refund process for cancellations and refund requests.
- Email (Canada support): You can send a cancellation or refund request to the Canada support email: service@thermomix.ca. Include your full name, Cookidoo® account email, subscription details or customer identifier (e.g. CDID) and date of purchase.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel an annual Cookidoo® subscription through the website, your access typically continues until the end of the current 12‑month subscription term and the subscription will not renew after that term. Canceling does not always delete your Cookidoo® account or saved recipes, but changing region/language settings or switching accounts can affect visibility of saved cookbooks and translated recipes. For in‑app purchases, cancellation and access timing follow Apple or Google Play policies.
Will I get a refund?
Cookidoo® states there is no refund given for a standard web cancellation after the subscription term (cancellations prevent renewal but do not prorate or refund the existing term). Separately, Vorwerk voluntarily provides a 14‑day withdrawal right for the initial annual subscription purchase: if you send an email from the account‑associated email to Vorwerk within 14 days of first purchase, the subscription fee will be refunded. This 14‑day right does not apply to renewals. Refunds for App Store or Google Play purchases must be requested through Apple or Google and are subject to their policies.
Cookidoo plans and pricing
| Plan | Price | Billing / Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Annual subscription (website) | Varies | 12‑month term; access continues until end of term after cancellation |
| Monthly subscription (where offered) | Varies | Varies by country and offer |
| In‑app subscriptions (Apple / Google) | Varies | Managed and billed by Apple App Store or Google Play; refunds via store |
Your consumer rights in Canada
Canadian law does not provide a universal 14‑day right of withdrawal for digital services, but consumer protection rules vary by province and by case. Vorwerk/Cookidoo voluntarily offers a 14‑day refund right for the initial purchase when the request is made from the account‑associated email; this is a company policy rather than a general statutory right in Canada. If you believe a charge was incorrect or the vendor’s policy is not followed, you may also contact your card issuer or bank to discuss a dispute under applicable payment rules.
Customer experiences
Public feedback is mixed. App analysis and some App Store reviews rate the Cookidoo app highly and consider it legitimate and safe. However, many users (particularly on community forums) report frustrations: limited search/filter functions, missing translations, region‑locking or cross‑region recipe access problems, duplicate charges or billing issues when switching offers, and difficulties resolving certain problems with customer service. Bilingual Canadian users sometimes report loss of cookbook versions or saved recipes when switching language/region.
Documentation checklist
- Account email (the email tied to your Cookidoo® account)
- Full name and customer identifier (CDID or order ID, if available)
- Date of purchase and subscription start
- Payment method and screenshots of charges or subscription receipts
- Platform (Website, iOS App Store, Google Play) and device details
Common mistakes
Common errors include: attempting to get a refund from Cookidoo for an App Store/Google Play purchase (those must go through Apple or Google), expecting a refund after the 14‑day voluntary withdrawal window, cancelling but forgetting to stop an in‑app subscription through the store (which can lead to automatic renewal), and changing region/language without backing up saved recipes which can cause loss or invisibility of some cookbook content. Also, sending cancellation requests from an email address not associated with the Cookidoo account can delay or prevent a prompt refund under the 14‑day rule.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Website (Cookidoo.ca) | No general refund on cancellation; refund possible within 14 days of initial purchase if requested from account email | Low - self‑serve for cancellation |
| App Store (iOS) | Refunds handled by Apple via their refund process; subject to Apple policy | Medium - requires Apple process |
| Google Play (Android) | Refunds handled by Google Play via their refund process; subject to Google policy | Medium - requires Google process |
| Email support (service@thermomix.ca) | Possible refund for initial purchase within 14 days when requested from the account email; otherwise case‑by‑case | Medium - depends on support response |
After cancelling
After you cancel, keep a copy of your cancellation confirmation and any support correspondence. If you cancelled an in‑app subscription, verify the subscription status in your App Store or Google Play account and check future statements to ensure no further billing occurs. For refund requests or more information, refer to Vorwerk’s subscription support pages: cancellation guidance at service.thermomix.ca and the Cookidoo subscription overview at support.vorwerk.com. If your purchase was through Apple or Google, use their respective refund centers to submit a request.
