Cancellation Sweat: Easy Method
What is Sweat
Sweat is a fitness app offering guided workouts, training plans and tracking for users who subscribe to its premium content. It is available as a native app on iOS and Android and as a web service through join.sweat.com, with recurring subscription plans that grant access to the app’s full library and features.
How to cancel Sweat
- App Store (Apple/iOS): You must cancel through Apple Subscriptions. Open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Sweat → Cancel. Cancelling stops renewal at the end of the current billing cycle; deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. See Sweat support for details.
- Google Play (Android): You can cancel either inside the Sweat app (if offered) or from the Google Play Store app via Menu → Subscriptions → Sweat. Follow the on-screen prompts and any cancellation survey. See Sweat support.
- Web (via Sweat website): Log in at join.sweat.com, go to your profile → Edit subscription → Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts. You should receive a confirmation email after completion. See Sweat support for the web process.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a Sweat subscription it will stop future auto-renewal; you typically retain access to paid content until the end of the current billing period. Cancellation initiated through third-party stores (Apple or Google) is controlled by those stores and follows their renewal rules. Deleting the app does not terminate your subscription. Your account data and progress are generally retained by Sweat according to its privacy policy, but you should review the app’s settings or contact support if you want data removed.
Will I get a refund?
Sweat’s stated policy is that there are no refunds or prorations for unused subscription periods, accidental purchases, or change of mind unless required by applicable law. Subscriptions cancelled on the website are not refunded according to Sweat’s terms. For Apple in‑app purchases, refunds must be requested directly via Apple Support and Apple’s refund policies apply. In Canada, statutory consumer rights may create exceptions (see next section); if you believe provincial consumer protection rules require a refund, pursue that route and consider raising the issue with the payment platform (Apple/Google) as applicable. See Sweat’s refund information at Sweat refunds and returns and the Sweat terms at join.sweat.com terms.
Sweat plans and pricing
| Plan | Price | Period | Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly Subscription | C$24.99 | Monthly | Full access to Sweat app content; auto-renews monthly |
| Annual Subscription | C$134.99 | Annually | Full access for one year; billed annually |
Prices were updated in October 2024 for Canadian users; App Store or in‑app pricing may display slightly different amounts depending on taxes and store rounding - always check your local store before purchasing.
Your consumer rights in Canada
Canadian consumer protection laws can provide more rights than a commercial “no refund” policy. Many provinces provide a cooling-off period (commonly 14 days) for certain online purchases of digital goods or goods and services where the service has not been fully performed, which may entitle you to a full refund. If you purchased via Apple or Google, those platforms also have their own refund and dispute mechanisms you may use. Because rules differ by province (for example Ontario or British Columbia), check your provincial Consumer Protection Act and consider contacting your provincial consumer protection office if you believe Sweat’s stated policy conflicts with statutory rights.
Customer experiences
Public reviews are mixed. Positive feedback highlights motivational features such as walking tracking and value for long-term users, plus occasions where support interactions were successful. Negative reports commonly cite frequent ads, low perceived value of rewards, difficulty redeeming gift cards, technical problems (for example step-tracking accuracy or account linking issues) and frustrating customer support experiences. These patterns suggest cancellations are straightforward but some users report friction around refunds and support responsiveness.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and username used to subscribe
- Order ID or receipt (from App Store/Google Play email or Sweat web receipt)
- Date of purchase and billing period
- Screenshot of active subscription in your device’s subscription list or web account
- Confirmation email(s) of cancellation (if received)
- Any correspondence with Sweat or platform support (support ticket numbers)
Common mistakes
Users commonly assume deleting the app cancels the subscription; it does not. Another frequent mistake is cancelling but not keeping the confirmation email or screenshot, which makes disputes harder. Expecting an automatic refund after cancellation is another source of frustration - Sweat’s policy denies refunds except where the law requires otherwise. Some users accidentally cancel the wrong account (for example, a family member’s Apple ID) or use a different device/store than the one used to purchase, which can delay resolution.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| App Store (Apple/iOS) | Refunds must be requested via Apple Support; Sweat does not issue Apple in-app refunds directly. | Low to Medium - cancelling is simple via Settings; Apple refund requests can take additional steps. |
| Google Play (Android) | Refunds handled under Google Play policies; cancellations performed in-app or in Google Play. | Low - cancellation via Play Store or app is typically straightforward; refunds subject to Google review. |
| Web (via Sweat website) | Sweat states web subscriptions are not refunded (except where required by law). | Low - cancel via your account on join.sweat.com; obtaining a refund may be difficult. |
After cancelling
After you cancel, keep a copy of the cancellation confirmation and any related receipts or screenshots. If you need a refund or further assistance, first use the platform you purchased through (Apple Support for iOS purchases, Google Play for Android purchases, or Sweat web support for web purchases). If you choose to send a written notice or dispute by mail, send it to the company address and use certified mail (raccomandata A/R) to ensure delivery confirmation.
