Cancellation Verotel: Easy Method
What is Verotel
Verotel is an online payment and recurring-billing processor commonly used by merchants to sell digital subscriptions and membership services. It handles authorization and rebilling for merchants and publishes its own Terms & Conditions that govern how subscriptions are created, billed and terminated.
Verotel acts as the payment gateway/processor for participating sites; some merchants integrate Verotel directly into their checkout while others bill through platform storefronts (e.g., App Store or Google Play) or via third-party partners.
How to cancel Verotel
- Review your billing source first: check whether the charge appears as billed by Verotel or billed through Apple/Google/another platform - if billed through Apple/Google cancel the subscription there as well as contacting Verotel or the merchant.
- Contact the merchant or Verotel to request cancellation. Under Verotel’s Terms & Conditions, a Member may terminate a subscription “at any time” by electronic or conventional mail, telephone, or fax. When contacting them, include your full name, membership or account email, transaction ID(s), last 4 digits of the card, date of most recent charge and a clear statement that you request termination of recurring billing.
- If you use conventional mail, send a signed cancellation letter by registered delivery (e.g., raccomandata A/R) to the company address: Yoursafe B.V., Danzigerkade 23D, 1013 AP Amsterdam, Netherlands. Keep the registered-mail receipt for your records.
- Save copies/screenshots of your cancellation request, any confirmation messages, and the date/time you submitted the request. If the merchant shows a “discount offer” popup on cancel, remember that accepting the offer typically continues rebilling at a reduced rate; declining or closing the page generally proceeds with cancellation (the merchant may process it within ~15 - 30 minutes).
- Follow up if you do not receive confirmation within a few business days. If charges continue after you have sent a clear cancellation request, use the documentation to dispute the charge with your card issuer or payment provider.
- Reference Verotel’s Terms & Conditions for the company’s formal cancellation language: Verotel Terms & Conditions.
What happens when you cancel
Per Verotel’s Terms & Conditions, members remain liable for charges incurred until termination. Depending on how the merchant has set up billing, your access to the service may continue until the end of the already‑paid billing period or it may end immediately - this is determined by the merchant/site rather than Verotel alone.
After cancellation, the merchant or Verotel may retain transaction records and account data for operational and legal purposes. If you need copies of invoices or want data removed, request those specifically in writing from the merchant and Verotel and retain any responses as proof.
Will I get a refund?
Verotel’s publicly posted policy states that subscription fees are not refundable when termination is requested and that any refund is discretionary. If Verotel or the merchant grants a refund, it will be issued to the original payment method only. The Terms do not reference a statutory 14‑day automatic right to cancel; refunds are therefore not guaranteed by Verotel’s policy.
If you believe a charge is unauthorized or you qualify under statutory consumer protections in your province, you can raise the matter with your card issuer to request a chargeback, contact provincial consumer protection authorities, or seek legal advice. Keep in mind that a chargeback or legal remedy is separate from Verotel’s stated refund policy and may take time to resolve.

Your consumer rights in Canada
Canadian consumer-protection laws vary by province. In some provinces a consumer who buys a digital subscription online may have a short “cooling‑off” right if the service is not fully performed, but applicable rights depend on provincial statute and the specific facts of the purchase. Verotel’s published Terms do not reference a 14‑day automatic right to a refund and declare refunds discretionary.
If you are in Canada and believe you have a statutory right to cancel or a misrepresentation has occurred, you can contact your provincial consumer protection office and the Competition Bureau for guidance. You can also contact your card issuer to explore a dispute or chargeback if you believe charges are unauthorized. This guide is general information and not legal advice - consult a lawyer or a consumer protection agency for authoritative guidance.
Customer experiences
Public reviews are mixed. Some merchants report long-term positive usage of Verotel for processing membership payments and payouts to international bank accounts, while noting fees can be high (a reported ~15% merchant cost). On the consumer side, public complaint platforms (including Trustpilot Canada and payment-review sites) contain multiple negative reports describing refusal of refunds, slow or unhelpful customer service, account suspensions, and problems with FX conversions for Canadian cardholders.
These public reviews indicate both merchant-level satisfaction for processing needs and consumer-level concerns about support, refunds and billing accuracy. Use documented evidence and seek confirmation in writing when you cancel.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and username used with the service
- Subscription or membership ID (if available) and merchant/site URL
- Transaction receipts and dates of recent charges (screenshots or PDF receipts)
- Last 4 digits of the payment card used and billing descriptor as it appears on your statement
- Copy of your signed cancellation letter or email and proof of delivery (registered-mail receipt or sent-email delivery receipt)
- Any confirmation messages from the merchant/Verotel and screenshots of cancellation popups/offers
Common mistakes
Consumers commonly assume that cancelling on the merchant site is enough when a charge is billed through Apple or Google; you should cancel both with the merchant/processor and through your App Store/Google Play subscriptions if applicable. Another common mistake is relying on a single verbal request - always get written confirmation and keep proof of any sent cancellation.
Expecting an automatic refund despite Verotel’s stated “no refunds” policy is another frequent issue. If you accept a merchant’s on‑page “discount” when attempting to cancel, that often results in continued billing at a reduced rate rather than termination - be explicit when you mean to stop all recurring charges.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Contact via Verotel/merchant (email or website) | No (refunds discretionary; issued to original method) | Moderate (depends on response time) |
| App Store / Google Play subscription (if billed through platform) | Varies (Apple/Google may have their own refund processes) | Easy - Moderate (cancel in platform settings; follow up with merchant) |
| Conventional mail (registered letter to company address) | No (policy still applies; useful as proof of request) | Moderate (requires delivery time and proof) |
| Phone or fax (as permitted in Terms) | No (refunds discretionary) | Varies (depends on customer-service availability) |
| Merchant “discount offer” on cancellation page | No (accepting offer continues billing; declining proceeds with cancel) | Easy (but watch for continued rebills if you accept) |
After cancelling
After you submit a cancellation request, monitor your bank and card statements for at least one full billing cycle to confirm rebilling stops. Keep all documentation of your cancellation request and any responses. If charges continue after a clear written cancellation, you can escalate by disputing the charges with your card issuer, contacting provincial consumer protection, or filing a complaint with the Competition Bureau if you suspect unfair practices.
