Cancellation Airtable: Easy Method
What is Airtable
Airtable is a cloud-based collaboration platform that combines spreadsheet and database features to manage projects, content, inventories, and custom workflows. It is used by individuals and teams to create flexible, relational bases with views, automations, attachments and integrations.
How to cancel Airtable
- Web (recommended): Sign in at airtable.com, go to the Workspace Settings → Billing area and either downgrade the paid workspace to the Free plan or remove the payment method. Cancellation or plan downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing term and you retain access until then. See the official deletion/cancellation guidance: Airtable support - deleting your account.
- Account deletion (web or desktop): Before deleting an account you must remove payment methods and transfer ownership of any workspaces you own; then confirm deletion. Note that the Android app does not support account deletion. Details: Airtable support - deleting your account.
- iOS: The iOS app supports account deletion via Profile → Delete user account, but you must first remove payments and transfer workspace ownership. See: Airtable support - deleting your account (iOS).
- App stores: There is no official process documented for cancelling Airtable subscriptions directly through the App Store or Google Play; mobile cancellation via those channels appears unsupported - follow the web/Workspace Billing steps above.
- Postal/correspondence option: If you prefer to send a written cancellation, use registered mail (raccomandata A/R) to Airtable’s corporate address (see Address section below) and keep tracking and a copy of the letter for your records.
What happens when you cancel
If you downgrade a paid workspace or remove the payment method, cancellation or downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you will retain access to paid features until that date. After the term ends the workspace will revert to Free plan limits (reduced records, attachments, and feature access). Data remains in your workspace after downgrade unless you or an owner delete it; therefore export any important bases or attachments before deleting the account or workspace. When you delete an account (after removing payments and transferring owned workspaces), the account and its access are removed according to Airtable’s deletion flow documented in support materials.
Will I get a refund?
Airtable’s Terms state that if you cancel you will not receive a refund for the current subscription term except where required by applicable law. Airtable’s Terms do provide a 14‑day right to a full refund for residents of the EU and Turkey only; that specific right does not extend to Canada under Airtable’s published Terms. For reference, see Airtable’s Terms: Airtable Terms of Service.

Your consumer rights in Canada
Under Airtable’s Privacy Policy, Canadian users have rights to access and correct personal data and may submit a Canadian Privacy Rights Request as described in the policy: Airtable Privacy Policy. Airtable’s Terms do not create a statutory 14‑day refund right for Canadian customers - the 14‑day refund provision in Airtable’s Terms applies specifically to EU and Turkey residents. If you believe a legal consumer protection right applies in your province (for example, in a billing dispute), consider contacting provincial consumer protection authorities or your payment provider for remedies beyond Airtable’s stated policies.
Customer experiences
Canadian reviews on platforms such as Capterra often praise Airtable for its flexibility, intuitive interface, templates and collaborative features, calling it a "game changer" for customized workflows. At the same time, public reviews (including Trustpilot) report challenges: performance issues on large datasets, occasional glitches, and negative experiences around billing and refunds - such as unexpected charges and slow or unsatisfactory customer support responses. These mixed reports suggest Airtable is powerful for many use cases but requires attention to billing, data limits and backup practices.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and workspace name(s); recent invoices or billing screenshots; proof of payment method removal (if applicable); names and recipients for any transferred workspace ownership; exported backups or CSVs of important bases and attachments; copies of correspondence with Airtable support; and registered mail tracking number and copy of any cancellation letter if you send one.
Common mistakes
Common errors include expecting an immediate refund after cancelling (Airtable’s Terms reserve refunds only as required by law), failing to transfer workspace ownership before attempting account deletion (which prevents deletion), forgetting to export data prior to downgrade or deletion, and attempting to cancel via App Store/Google Play when Airtable’s documented cancellation flows require web-based workspace billing changes. Also, not keeping records (invoices, screenshots, support messages, registered mail tracking) can make dispute resolution harder if billing issues arise.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Web - downgrade workspace / remove payment method | No refund for current term except as required by law | Low |
| Account deletion (web/desktop, after transfers) | No refund for current term | Medium (must transfer workspaces and remove payment) |
| iOS - profile → Delete user account (after transfers/payments removed) | No refund for current term | Medium |
| App Store / Google Play (attempted cancellation) | Not supported by Airtable documentation - refunds handled by store policies if applicable | High / Unsupported (follow web billing flow) |
| Postal cancellation letter (registered mail) | No refund for current term | Medium (requires proof of delivery and supporting documentation) |
After cancelling
After you cancel or delete an account, export and locally store any bases, attachments and data you need, and keep copies of invoices and correspondence. Monitor your bank/credit card statements for unexpected charges and contact your payment provider if an unauthorised charge occurs. Helpful resources: Airtable support on deleting accounts (support article), Airtable Terms (Terms of Service), and Airtable Privacy Policy (privacy). Retain any registered mail tracking and copies of letters as evidence if you need to escalate a billing dispute.
