Cancellation Djay: Easy Method
What is Djay
djay is a DJ app and music-mixing tool from Algoriddim that runs on iOS, macOS, Android and Windows platforms. It offers a free tier and PRO features via subscriptions or a one‑time purchase (for macOS Pro), including auto‑mixing, effects, sample decks and integrations with streaming or local libraries.
The app is distributed through platform stores (App Store, Google Play, Microsoft Store) and subscription management and purchases are handled by those stores in most cases rather than directly by Algoriddim.
How to cancel Djay
- App Store (iOS/macOS): Open Settings on your device → tap your Apple ID → Subscriptions, find the djay subscription, and tap Cancel. You keep PRO access until the end of the current billing period or trial. See the official guidance: djay iOS/macOS cancellation help.
- Google Play (Android): Open the Google Play app → Menu → Subscriptions → select djay → Cancel subscription. Google handles refund requests and subscription effects. Reference: Algoriddim EULA (platform purchases handled by the store).
- Microsoft / Web / direct (Windows & others): Manage subscriptions through the Microsoft Store or the store where you purchased: open your profile → Manage account & devices → Subscriptions → Cancel. Algoriddim cannot directly cancel or refund purchases made through Microsoft or other stores; see community guidance: Microsoft / community note.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a subscription through the platform store you used to purchase, renewal of the subscription stops at the end of the current billing period. If you cancel during a free trial, cancelling before the trial ends will generally prevent later charges; if you cancel after the trial has converted, you retain PRO access until the current billing period expires.
After the subscription period ends, the app reverts to the free version and PRO features are locked. Cancelling a subscription does not normally delete your local music files, settings or account; it only removes paid feature access. Algoriddim’s ability to change subscriptions, delete accounts, or issue refunds is limited when purchases were made through platform stores - the store’s account controls are authoritative.
Will I get a refund?
Refunds for in‑app purchases are handled by the platform where you purchased djay (Apple, Google, Microsoft). Algoriddim does not directly issue refunds for purchases made through those stores; see the EULA for details: Algoriddim EULA. The EULA also notes a 14‑day statutory withdrawal right only for consumers in the EU, UK or Switzerland, and that right ends if the app is used during the withdrawal period.
Timing for refunds varies by platform and payment method: Apple refunds may appear immediately to within about 5 business days, Google Play refunds may take up to about 7 business days, credit/debit cards can take 5 - 7 working days, and PayPal refunds around 3 - 5 working days. For Canadian users there is no automatic 14‑day statutory withdrawal for digital goods unless the vendor offers it; you must request refunds through the platform’s support channels and follow their policies.
Djay plans and pricing
| Plan | Price (CAD) | Period | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| djay Pro (Mac - one‑time purchase) | C$69.99 | One‑time | Full djay Pro features for Mac (lifetime use, no subscription) |
| djay Pro (Subscription - iOS/Android/Windows) | Varies | Monthly / Yearly | Subscription prices in CAD vary by platform and region; check the store (Apple App Store / Google Play / Microsoft Store) for exact local pricing. |
Your consumer rights in Canada
In Canada there is no automatic 14‑day statutory withdrawal right for digital goods unless the vendor explicitly offers it. Algoriddim’s EULA applies a 14‑day withdrawal right only to users in the EU, Switzerland and the UK; Canadian users should rely on the refund and cancellation policies of the platform where they purchased the app (Apple, Google, Microsoft).
If you believe the app is defective or the service was misrepresented, provincial consumer protection laws or federal legislation such as The Competition Act may provide remedies. These processes vary by province and situation; keep receipts, order IDs and records of communications with the store and Algoriddim when making a complaint or seeking a remedy.
Customer experiences
User reports are mixed. Many users praise aspects of the app such as voice‑over accessibility and improved keyboard control on iOS and macOS, calling it strong for accessibility use cases. Other users report functional issues - examples include unstable beat‑matching, looping that slips even on owned tracks - and concerns about customer support responsiveness. Several users have also objected to features that were previously one‑time purchases being moved behind subscription paywalls.
Documentation checklist
- Order confirmation / receipt (from the App Store, Google Play, or Microsoft Store) including order ID and date
- Account email used for the purchase (Apple ID, Google account, Microsoft account)
- Screenshots of subscription status or billing charges
- If requesting a statutory withdrawal or sending a formal cancellation to Algoriddim, the completed withdrawal form from the EULA and proof of registered mail (recommended where applicable)
- Any correspondence with Algoriddim or platform support (support ticket numbers, emails)
Common mistakes
Common errors include deleting the app but not cancelling the subscription in the platform store (subscriptions are managed in your store account, not by uninstalling the app); cancelling under the wrong Apple/Google/Microsoft account; expecting Algoriddim to refund purchases made through a store (refunds must be requested from the store); and waiting until after a billing period has renewed before attempting to cancel or request a refund. Example: a user deletes djay from an iPhone but the Apple ID subscription remains active and continues to renew until cancelled inside Settings → Subscriptions.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| App Store (iOS / macOS) | Refunds handled by Apple (request via Report a Problem or Apple Support); typical timing immediate to ~5 business days | Easy - cancel in Settings → Subscriptions; request refund via Apple Support |
| Google Play (Android) | Refunds handled by Google Play; timing typically immediate to ~7 business days depending on payment method | Medium - cancel via Google Play app → Subscriptions; request refund via Google Play Help |
| Microsoft / Web / other stores | Refunds handled by the store where purchase was made; policies and timing vary by store | Medium - manage subscription in the relevant store account; contact store support for refunds |
After cancelling
After you cancel, confirm your subscription status in the store account where you purchased and keep the cancellation confirmation or a screenshot showing the subscription will not renew. If you want a refund, submit a request to the platform’s support channels and provide the documentation listed above. For EULA details and platform guidance see Algoriddim’s EULA (Algoriddim EULA), the djay iOS/macOS cancellation article (help.algoriddim.com), and community notes for Windows or other store issues (community.algoriddim.com). For refund timing estimates see a general summary: refund timing guide.
