Cancellation Easywp: Simple Process
What is Easywp
Overview
EasyWP is Namecheap’s managed WordPress hosting product designed to simplify creating, running and restoring WordPress sites without deep technical setup. It provides tiered plans with varying storage, performance features and bundled tools (for example Brizy on some annual plans) and is aimed at users who want a streamlined WordPress experience managed through Namecheap’s interfaces.
How to cancel Easywp
- Turn off auto-renew in your Namecheap account: Sign in to your Namecheap account, go to Apps → Subscriptions, find the EasyWP subscription and disable auto-renew. The subscription will remain active until the paid period ends; content may be deleted after the subscription expires.
- Request immediate cancellation from EasyWP Support: Contact EasyWP / Namecheap Support (live chat or ticket) and ask for immediate cancellation. Note that immediate cancellation, once processed by support, can remove the site and its content permanently.
- If you purchased via an app store (App Store or Google Play): follow the store’s subscription and refund procedures. EasyWP documentation does not cover mobile-store subscriptions and refunds directly.
What happens when you cancel
If you only disable auto-renew, your EasyWP site remains active for the remainder of the billing period and will not renew at the next cycle. After the paid period ends, the site and associated hosting content may be deleted or made inaccessible; backups or exports you did not create before expiry could be lost. If you request an immediate cancellation through support, the site and its content can be removed permanently as soon as the support team processes the request.
Will I get a refund?
Namecheap/EasyWP’s refund practice allows refunds in certain circumstances: you may be eligible for a refund if you cancel within the first 30 days of initial sign-up (this excludes free trials). A refund may also be available if you cancel within 24 hours after a renewal. Refunds do not apply to free trial subscriptions, SSL certificates, domain-registration fees, or add-on products. If you subscribed through an app store, refund and cancellation rules are governed by that store’s policy rather than EasyWP’s web refund terms.

Your consumer rights in Canada
There is no specific 14-day statutory “cooling-off” right stated in EasyWP’s terms. EasyWP provides a 30-day refund window for initial sign-ups which is generally more generous than many basic e-commerce windows, but that is a contractual policy rather than a Canada-wide statutory entitlement. If you purchased via Apple App Store or Google Play, cancellation and refund rights may be governed by those stores’ policies rather than by Namecheap’s web-based refund rules. For complex disputes or if you believe a statutory consumer protection applies, consider contacting your provincial consumer protection office or the Competition Bureau for guidance.
Customer experiences
Public reviews are mixed. Many users praise EasyWP’s support staff for being helpful and responsive via live chat and find the platform user-friendly and easy to set up and restore websites. However, negative reports mention intermittent technical issues such as 504 Gateway Time-out errors, SSL problems (especially when using Cloudflare), caching conflicts, lack of free SSL/CDN on entry plans, absence of automatic backups on some plans, performance and database concerns, confusing interface elements, and occasional downtime. These mixed experiences suggest the service can be very convenient for simple sites, while more complex or high-traffic sites may encounter limitations.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and username; subscription or order ID; domain name (if applicable); date of purchase/renewal; screenshots of billing or subscription pages; exported backup of WordPress content (XML export, full file/DB backup) and any plugin/license keys; support ticket/chat transcript (if you already contacted support).
Common mistakes
A frequent mistake is assuming turning off auto-renew triggers an immediate refund or immediate deletion - turning off auto-renew preserves service until the period ends but does not refund the current period. Another common error is failing to back up your site before cancellation or expiry and then losing content. Expecting refunds for free trials, SSL certificates, domain registrations or add-ons is another pitfall; those items are typically non-refundable under EasyWP/Namecheap rules. Also note that if you subscribed through a mobile app store, contacting EasyWP support may not resolve store-based billing issues - you must use the store’s refund process.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Web (EasyWP Dashboard) | May qualify if within 30 days of first signup or within 24 hours after renewal; otherwise no refund | Easy |
| Web (Immediate cancellation via Support) | Same refund windows apply; immediate cancellation can remove site content permanently | Medium (requires contacting support) |
| App Store / Google Play | Refunds follow the app store’s policies; not covered by EasyWP web refund rules | Varies (depends on store) |
After cancelling
Before cancelling, export your WordPress content using the built-in export tool and create a full backup of files and database. After cancellation, if you need support or want to check refund eligibility, contact Namecheap support through their support hub: Namecheap Support, or consult EasyWP product documentation: EasyWP product page. For exporting content and re-importing into another host, see WordPress guidance: Exporting content (WordPress.org). If you intend to send a formal cancellation letter by registered mail, address it to the postal address below and include clear account and subscription identifiers.
