Cancellation Leetcode: Easy Method
What is Leetcode
LeetCode is an online platform that offers programming problems, coding practice, interview preparation tools and a paid Premium subscription that unlocks additional features such as company-tagged problems, mock interviews, priority judging and advanced editor tools. It is widely used by students and software engineers preparing for technical interviews.
The service operates on an account/subscription model where Premium access is purchased for a period (monthly or annual) and is managed through the user's account or through the platform used to purchase (web, Apple App Store, Google Play). LeetCode's public Terms of Service state a no-refund policy for paid subscriptions.
How to cancel Leetcode
- Web (recommended): Sign in to your LeetCode account, go to your profile settings and open the "Manage Subscription" page. Cancel the Premium subscription before the renewal date; cancellation typically prevents future renewals but keeps Premium access until the end of the current billing period. See LeetCode's Terms and support page for details: LeetCode Terms and LeetCode cancellation policy.
- App Store / Google Play purchases: If you purchased via Apple or Google, manage and cancel the subscription through your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings. LeetCode's documentation points users to the Manage Subscription page but purchases made through a mobile store are typically controlled by that store's subscription management and refund processes.
- If web or in-app cancellation does not resolve the issue, open a support ticket with LeetCode and keep all correspondence. For formal/legal notices you can send a registered letter to corporate contact details (see Address section below) and retain proof of delivery.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a LeetCode Premium subscription through the Manage Subscription page or via the app store, recurring billing is stopped for future periods and you retain Premium access until the end of the current paid billing cycle. LeetCode's policy states that cancellation does not entitle you to a refund or pro-rated credit.
Your LeetCode account and submitted content (problems, discussions, solutions) typically remain on the service after cancelling; canceling a subscription does not necessarily delete your account or submissions. If you need data removed, follow LeetCode's account deletion procedures or contact support for guidance.
Will I get a refund?
LeetCode's published Terms of Service state that all fees paid are non-refundable and subscriptions are not prorated on early termination. That means, per LeetCode policy, refunds are not provided as a routine matter. The support documentation likewise does not promise refunds and refers users to manage subscriptions via account settings or the purchasing platform.
Exceptions may exist outside the company policy due to platform (Apple/Google) refund rules, payment provider chargebacks, or statutory consumer rights in your jurisdiction. LeetCode does not publicly reference a specific Canadian statutory right (for example a 14‑day automatic cancellation right) in its Terms; if you believe a statutory consumer right applies, you can pursue remedies through your payment provider, dispute channels, or provincial/federal consumer protection agencies.
Leetcode plans and pricing
| Plan | Price (approx., CAD) | Period | Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly Premium | C$47.25 (approx.) | Monthly | All Premium features (company tags, explore cards, debugger, autocomplete, mock interviews, priority judging, etc.) |
| Annual Premium | C$214.65 (approx.) | Annual | All Premium features (same as monthly) at ~60% effective discount |
Note: LeetCode accepts payments in USD; the CAD prices above are approximate conversions using an assumed exchange rate (1 USD ≈ 1.35 CAD). Your bank or card issuer may apply a different exchange rate and may charge foreign transaction fees.
Your consumer rights in Canada
Canadian consumers have protections that may apply to digital subscriptions and automatic renewals, including requirements for clear disclosure of renewal terms and consent for recurring charges. LeetCode's explicit no-refund policy and no‑prorating language in its Terms may be inconsistent with certain provincial consumer protection rules, depending on the circumstances and how the subscription was sold or disclosed.
If you believe LeetCode's billing or cancellation practices violate Canadian consumer protection laws you can: (1) request a refund or remedy from LeetCode and document all communications; (2) contact your card issuer about a dispute or chargeback within their time limits; and (3) file a complaint with a relevant agency such as the Competition Bureau or your provincial consumer protection office. This is general information and not legal advice - if you need legal certainty, consult a lawyer familiar with Canadian consumer law.
Customer experiences
Public reviews are mixed. Many users praise LeetCode for its wide problem library and usefulness for interview preparation, and some report positive interactions with customer support. At the same time, other users report issues with unexpected auto-renewals, difficulty obtaining refunds, and challenges cancelling (especially when purchases were made through different platforms). Some complaints indicate that resolving billing disputes sometimes required contacting banks or filing chargebacks.
Because experiences vary, keep clear records of purchase receipts, cancellation confirmations, and all support correspondence to improve the chances of a favorable outcome if a dispute arises.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and username, order confirmation or receipt, and subscription ID (if shown).
- Screenshots of the Manage Subscription page showing subscription status and any cancellation confirmation.
- App store or Google Play receipt if the purchase was made through those stores.
- Payment method details and a copy of the bank/credit card statement showing the charge.
- All correspondence with LeetCode support (dates, ticket numbers, message text).
- If sending a hard-letter, print a copy of your request and send by registered mail (proof of posting and delivery). Keep the tracking/receipt.
Common mistakes
Common errors include cancelling or deleting the LeetCode app but not the subscription in the Apple or Google account (which continues to auto-renew), assuming cancellation always triggers a refund, failing to cancel before the renewal date, and not saving proof of cancellation or receipts. Other mistakes are contacting support too long after a renewal without documentation and using multiple accounts (cancelling the wrong account).
To avoid problems, verify the subscription shows as canceled in the exact account used to purchase, save screenshots or confirmation emails, and check your card statement after the expected billing date.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Web (Manage Subscription) | No (LeetCode policy: no refunds; access until period end) | Low - straightforward to cancel; refunds not provided |
| App Store / Google Play | Depends on platform - refunds handled by Apple/Google policies | Medium - cancellation via store is simple; refunds require platform process |
| Contact Support / Registered Letter / Chargeback | Possible only at LeetCode's discretion, via platform, or via bank dispute/chargeback | High - may require escalation, documentation, or payment-provider dispute |
After cancelling
After you cancel, keep copies of the cancellation confirmation and monitor your card statement for any unexpected charges. If you are charged after cancellation, open a support ticket with LeetCode immediately and attach your documentation. If you purchased through Apple or Google, follow their refund request flows in addition to contacting LeetCode.
