Cancellation Reframe: Easy Method
What is Reframe
Reframe is a digital program and app that offers community support, science-based content, readings, meetings and coaching tools aimed at reducing or ending substance use and improving well-being. Memberships are provided as recurring subscriptions through different purchase channels (App Store, Google Play, or direct web purchases).
How to cancel Reframe
- iOS (App Store): Open the App Store on your iPhone/iPad, tap your profile, go to Subscriptions, find Reframe and cancel before the next billing period. Apple processes App Store cancellations and any refund requests; Reframe does not directly cancel App Store subscriptions. For details, see Reframe’s FAQ: Reframe FAQ.
- Web (direct subscription via Reframe): Sign in to your Reframe account on the website and cancel from your subscription or account settings. Subscriptions remain active until the end of the paid term; Reframe’s terms explain refund and cancellation rules: Terms of Service.
- Google Play / other third-party stores: Manage and cancel via the store where you purchased (Google Play console, etc.). Refunds and cancellations for third-party purchases must be handled through those platforms, not directly by Reframe.
- By mail (if you prefer paper notice): Send a clear written cancellation request (include account email, order ID or receipt, and date) to ReFrame Ministries, PO Box 5070 STN LCD 1, 3475 Mainway, Burlington, ON L7R 3Y8, Canada. Send by registered mail ("raccomandata") or similar tracked service to ensure proof of delivery.
What happens when you cancel
If you cancel a subscription purchased directly on the web, the subscription typically remains active until the end of the already-paid term; it will not renew after that period. If you unsubscribe in the App Store or via Google Play, those platforms will stop future renewals according to their policies - Reframe itself does not directly process or stop App Store or Google Play renewals. Your Reframe account and any data tied to it may remain according to Reframe’s data and retention policies; deleting the app from your device does not automatically cancel subscriptions or remove account data.
Will I get a refund?
Reframe’s terms state that subscription charges are generally non-refundable and there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods. Exceptions may apply if requested within 14 days or where required by applicable law. Refunds for purchases made through third-party platforms (App Store, Google Play) must be requested through those platforms; Reframe cannot directly issue refunds for those transactions. Note that simply deleting the app or your account does not stop billing or entitle you to a refund unless you have cancelled through the original purchase channel.
Reframe plans and pricing
| Plan | Price (approx.) | Period | Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly Subscription | ≈ US$14.00 / month (converted to CAD at App Store checkout) | Monthly | Full app access |
| Annual Subscription | ≈ US$140.00 / year (≈ US$11.60/month equivalent; converted to CAD at checkout) | Annual | Full app access with cost savings |
Your consumer rights in Canada
Under Canadian consumer protection frameworks, many online consumer transactions have a 14-day cooling-off or right-of-withdrawal period for distance sales. However, digital services and subscriptions are often exempted from this right once you start using the service immediately (for example, by downloading or accessing content), and your right to cancel or obtain a refund may be limited. Regardless of consumer-rights nuances, you must cancel through the original purchase channel (App Store, Google Play, or Reframe website) to stop future billing. For guidance on provincial consumer protections, see official consumer resources such as: Nova Scotia Consumer Rights.
Customer experiences
User reviews are mixed. Many customers praise the supportive community, science-based content, daily readings, meetings, and coaching tools, with some describing Reframe as highly beneficial to sobriety and well-being. Other users report problems such as unexpected charges after trial periods, difficulty cancelling or confusion about which platform controls billing, and instances where charges continued despite attempted cancellations. These mixed reports highlight the importance of confirming cancellation through the correct purchase channel and keeping documentation of your actions and receipts. See community reviews for context, e.g. Trustpilot and public discussion threads like Reddit.
Documentation checklist
- Order receipt or confirmation email showing purchase date and plan
- Subscription ID, order number or transaction reference
- Account email used to sign up (App Store/Google account or Reframe account)
- Screenshots of subscription settings or billing statements showing charges
- Any cancellation confirmation emails or in-app confirmation screenshots
- Dates and details of any contact with support (tickets, messages)
Common mistakes
Common errors include deleting the app while assuming the subscription was cancelled, cancelling the wrong account or Apple/Google account, failing to confirm cancellation in the store, and assuming an automatic refund will be issued after cancelling. Examples: a user deletes the app but keeps the App Store subscription active and continues to be billed; another user cancels on the website but actually purchased via the App Store so billing continued because the App Store subscription remained active.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| App Store (iOS) | Refunds handled by Apple; contact Apple for requests | Low - Medium (manage in App Store settings) |
| Web (Direct via Reframe) | Generally no refunds for partial periods; exceptions per terms or law | Low (cancel in account settings or contact support) |
| Google Play / Other third-party | Refunds handled by the store (Google Play); request through store support | Low - Medium (manage in Google Play / third-party account) |
| Registered mail cancellation | Refunds follow original purchase platform policy; mail provides proof of notice | Medium - High (requires time and proof of delivery) |
After cancelling
After you cancel, keep copies of confirmation screens or emails and monitor your bank or card statements for any unexpected charges. If you need a refund for an App Store or Google Play purchase, request it through the relevant platform: Apple support for refunds (Apple refund requests) and Google Play refunds (Google Play refund policies). For Reframe’s own guidance and policy, consult Reframe’s FAQ and Terms: Reframe FAQ and Terms of Service. If you believe you have been wrongly charged and cannot resolve the issue with the merchant or platform, consider contacting your card issuer and your provincial consumer protection office for next steps.
