Cancellation Transkriptor: Easy Method
What is Transkriptor
Transkriptor is an online service that converts audio and video into text using AI-powered transcription, plus tools for translation, summarization and integrations with common productivity platforms. It offers free and paid plans (monthly and annual) and also provides team accounts for collaboration.
How to cancel Transkriptor
- On the Web (recommended): Sign in at transkriptor.com, go to Settings → Billing → Change Plan, select the "Free - 90 Minutes" option and confirm. This stops future renewal; you keep access until the end of your current paid period.
- Via App Store / Google Play: If you subscribed through Apple or Google, you must cancel in your Apple ID / App Store or Google Play account settings; Transkriptor cannot cancel those store-managed subscriptions for you. See the App Store / Google Play subscription management screens for steps.
- Formal/legal cancellation: if you need to send a formal cancellation notice, use registered mail (raccomandata A/R) to the company’s official postal address (see Address section below) and keep proof of posting/delivery.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a paid subscription in the Transkriptor web account, the subscription will not renew at the next billing date. You generally retain access to paid features until the end of the current billing period; after that your account falls back to the Free / Trial tier. If you cancel an App Store/Google Play subscription through the store, access follows Apple/Google timing rules. Transkriptor’s terms govern how long account data and transcripts are retained - if you need copies of transcripts, download them before deleting your account or after your access ends.
Will I get a refund?
Transkriptor’s refund rules follow a European‑style cooling‑off approach: you may cancel an order within 14 days of placement without giving a reason if the service has not yet commenced. If the service has already started, cancellation is possible only to the extent Transkriptor’s incurred costs have been covered. If Transkriptor cancels an order (for example because of file discrepancies), a full refund is issued if work has not started, or a partial refund is issued proportional to work completed; reimbursements are processed within 7 working days of the cancellation email. If you subscribed via Apple or Google, refund requests are handled by those stores under their policies. See Transkriptor’s terms for details: Terms & Conditions.

Your consumer rights in Canada
Under Canadian consumer protection rules for distance contracts, consumers typically have a 14‑day cooling‑off period for remotely‑formed contracts; Transkriptor’s 14‑day rule for cancellations before service commencement aligns with this. Refund processing within 7 working days is reasonable and consistent with common expectations. Subscriptions purchased through Apple or Google are governed by those stores’ refund policies, which may differ. If you encounter unauthorized charges or an inability to cancel, contact your payment provider (bank, credit card issuer) first; you may also file a complaint with your provincial consumer protection agency or seek guidance from the Competition Bureau.
Customer experiences
Many users praise Transkriptor’s user‑friendly interface and the speed and accuracy of AI transcription, including its ability to handle background noise and a range of accents; translation, summarization and integrations are also commonly noted as useful. Support is often described as responsive and helpful, including assistance with cancellations and refunds. On the other hand, reviews report inconsistent accuracy for some languages (for example Brazilian Portuguese), occasional issues with multi‑speaker or very noisy audio, a limited refund window in some cases, and occasional account or user‑interface frustrations. A number of customers have reported difficulty cancelling free trials or accidental annual purchases when subscriptions were managed via app stores.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and username
- Order date, plan name and billing receipt or invoice
- Payment method details (last 4 digits of card or payment ID) and transaction ID
- Screenshot of your subscription page or the “Change Plan → Free - 90 Minutes” confirmation
- If subscribed via Apple/Google: App Store / Google Play order ID or receipt
- Any support ticket numbers, emails, or confirmation of cancellation
- If sending registered mail: proof of posting and the registered mail tracking number
Common mistakes
Trying to cancel inside the Transkriptor web app when the subscription was purchased through Apple or Google is a frequent error; those store subscriptions must be cancelled through the store account. Another common mistake is failing to switch to the Free - 90 Minutes plan (Settings → Billing → Change Plan → Free - 90 Minutes) and assuming the subscription has been cancelled without confirming. Users sometimes delete the app or stop using the service without confirming cancellation and later discover renewal charges. Finally, some users expect an automatic refund after cancelling a trial or annual plan; refunds are subject to the terms described above and may require contacting support or the store.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Web account (Settings → Billing → Change Plan) | No automatic refund for already‑used service; cancellation stops renewal. Refunds follow Transkriptor terms (14‑day cooling‑off if service not started). | Easy |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | Refund requests handled by Apple/Google under their policies; Transkriptor cannot directly refund store charges. | Medium - requires using store support and receipts |
| Registered mail / formal notice to company address | Used for formal/legal cancellation or disputes; refund subject to Transkriptor terms and any verified work completed. | Harder - requires proof of delivery and may involve legal timelines |
After cancelling
After you cancel, keep copies of confirmations and receipts. If you need to request a refund or escalate an issue, contact Transkriptor support through the website and include the documentation checklist items above. For plan and pricing details see Transkriptor Pricing, and for full contract and refund terms see Terms & Conditions. For independent user reviews and community feedback see Trustpilot and Capterra. If a store purchase is involved, use Apple or Google support pages to request refunds. If problems persist in Canada (unauthorized charges or inability to cancel), contact your payment provider and consider filing a complaint with your provincial consumer protection office or seeking guidance from the Competition Bureau.
