Cancellation Truecoach: Easy Method
What is Truecoach
TrueCoach is an online coaching platform used by fitness and health professionals to deliver programs, communicate with clients, collect payments, and track progress. It is primarily sold to coaches on a subscription basis and includes coach- and client-facing features for workout delivery, messaging, and billing.
How to cancel Truecoach
Who can cancel and how depends on your role: only coaches can cancel a client’s subscription, while coaches can also cancel their own TrueCoach account. If you purchased through Apple or Google, platform-level rules apply and cancellations/refunds are handled through those stores.
- Cancel a client subscription (coach only): Sign in to TrueCoach, go to Payments → Subscriptions (or the client’s billing area) and select Cancel for the client; choose immediate cancellation or end‑of‑billing‑period. This stops future billing but does not change the client’s active status or access to workouts. See the Help Center: Canceling subscriptions.
- Cancel your coach account: Sign in, go to Account Settings → Plan → Cancel plan. Your account stays functional until the end of the current billing cycle and data is retained. See: Cancel a coach account.
- Purchases via app stores: If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, open your App Store/Play account and follow their cancellation/refund process; TrueCoach does not control those platform refunds.
What happens when you cancel
Cancelling a client’s subscription stops future billing but does not automatically remove the client’s active status or revoke access to workouts and content; coaches control client access separate from the billing state. When a coach cancels their coach account via Account Settings, the account continues to work until the end of the billing cycle and stored data is retained after cancellation. If you cancel via an app store, access and data handling will follow the store’s rules and TrueCoach’s integration with that platform.
Will I get a refund?
TrueCoach offers a 90‑day money‑back guarantee for new customers (those who haven’t used TrueCoach in the prior 12 months) for recurring service charges up to the selected plan. To claim it you must email support before the 90th day, request the “money back offer” and include your User ID; some fees (set‑up, processing, hardware, international, third‑party) are excluded and refunds can take up to two weeks to process. For coach-issued refunds to clients in Canada, coaches can issue manual (including partial) refunds from the Payments → Subscriptions area; coaches must bear any processing fees and refunds typically post to the client in about 5 - 10 business days. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play must follow those stores’ refund processes, not TrueCoach’s guarantee. See the guarantee terms: TrueCoach guarantee terms and issuing refunds: Issuing refunds.
Truecoach plans and pricing
| Plan | Price (monthly, approximate) | Features |
|---|---|---|
| Starter (approx up to 5 clients) | US$19 - 25.99 (≈ C$25 - 35) | Up to 5 active clients |
| Standard (approx up to 20 clients) | US$49 - 63.99 (≈ C$66 - 85) | Up to 20 active clients, custom branding, TrueCoach Payments (coming soon) |

| Custom / Mid‑tier (user‑reported) | ≈ US$80/month (user reports) | Between 20‑ and 50‑client capacity (custom) |
Note: TrueCoach lists prices in USD. The CAD equivalents above are approximate conversions (mid‑2025 estimates) and Reddit/user reports suggest custom mid‑tier pricing may exist. For exact Canadian pricing see the checkout or contact TrueCoach support.
Your consumer rights in Canada
Canadian consumer protection laws vary by province and typically provide cooling‑off rights only for specific contract types (for example, some provinces have short cooling‑off periods for fitness club memberships). There is no general statutory 14‑day right to cancel digital subscription software across Canada; TrueCoach’s 90‑day money‑back guarantee is a company promotional policy, not a federally mandated right. If you purchased through Apple or Google, refunds and cancellations are subject to those stores’ policies and processes.
Customer experiences
User reviews are broadly positive on business software review sites: TrueCoach has strong ratings on Capterra Canada (around 4.8/5) with praise for ease of use, customer service, and value for money. Negative feedback, shown on Trustpilot, commonly concerns clients losing access to data when a coach becomes inactive or unsubscribes and limited client control over exporting or deleting data. These experiences highlight the importance of coaches managing billing and data export for their clients if continuity is needed. See reviews: Capterra Canada and Trustpilot Canada.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and User ID (include the User ID when contacting support for the 90‑day guarantee)
- Subscription invoice(s) or billing dates showing the charge(s) you want refunded
- Payment method and last four digits of the card (if applicable)
- Clear statement of what you want (cancel subscription, cancel coach account, refund request) and preferred resolution
- Any relevant screenshots or correspondence with the coach or TrueCoach support
Common mistakes
Clients often try to cancel their own subscriptions; only coaches can cancel client subscriptions from the dashboard. Other frequent errors include contacting support without the User ID (which is required for the 90‑day money‑back request), assuming a cancellation automatically deletes or exports data, and expecting a statutory 14‑day refund for a digital subscription in Canada. Coaches issuing refunds sometimes forget they will be charged processing fees and must account for that cost when refunding clients.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Coach cancels a client subscription (dashboard) | Refunds are not automatic; coach can issue manual refunds (5 - 10 business days) and may use the 90‑day guarantee procedure if eligible; coach bears processing fees. | Low - requires coach action in Payments → Subscriptions. |
| Coach cancels their coach account (Account Settings → Plan → Cancel) | Account remains active until billing period end; refunds depend on 90‑day guarantee eligibility and timing - contact support. | Low - self‑service via Account Settings. |
| Purchase or subscription via Apple App Store / Google Play | Refunds are handled by the platform per their policies (you must request via Apple/Google). | Medium - must follow platform procedures and timelines. |
| Written cancellation by registered mail to corporate address | May confirm cancellation request but unlikely to speed refunds; still advisable to cancel in‑app and contact support for refunds. | High - slower and less direct than in‑app cancellation. |
After cancelling
After you cancel, confirm in the TrueCoach dashboard that billing has stopped and keep a copy of any confirmation or cancellation date. If you expect a refund under the 90‑day guarantee, email support before day 90 with your User ID and include the phrase “money back offer.” For coach‑issued refunds check Payments → Subscriptions and retain refund transaction IDs. If your purchase was through Apple or Google, open the respective store’s support or purchase history to request a refund.
