Cancellation Umzu: Easy Method
What is Umzu
Umzu is a U.S.-based company that sells dietary supplements, personal-care products and related subscription services. Customers can buy one-time orders or enroll in recurring subscriptions for products; the company also offers a 60-day money-back guarantee on qualifying first purchases and operates customer support and subscription management through its website and third-party app stores.
How to cancel Umzu
- Via the UMZU website: Log in to your UMZU account, go to "Manage Subscriptions," and either "Reschedule" or "Skip" the next order. Make changes at least 24 hours before the scheduled charge. If an order has already been charged but is still in the fulfillment window (not shipped), email help@umzu.com to request cancellation. No changes can be made once the order has shipped.
- Via iOS / Apple App Store: If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, cancel on your device: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → select the UMZU subscription → Cancel Subscription. UMZU cannot cancel App Store subscriptions for you.
- Via Android / Google Play Store: If you subscribed through Google Play, open the Google Play app → profile → Payments & Subscriptions → Subscriptions → select the UMZU subscription → Cancel subscription. UMZU cannot cancel Google Play subscriptions for you.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a UMZU subscription through the appropriate channel, future recurring charges for that subscription are stopped. Cancellation typically prevents the next scheduled renewal but does not reverse charges that have already been processed. Access to any subscription benefits or account features may continue until the end of the current paid period, depending on how UMZU manages account access.
Cancelling does not automatically cancel or return physical orders that have already entered the fulfillment or shipping process; once an order has shipped, UMZU states no changes can be made. UMZU may retain account and order data for business, legal or tax purposes in accordance with its policies.
Will I get a refund?
Refund rules vary by situation. If an order was charged but is still within UMZU’s fulfillment window (not yet shipped), you can request cancellation and a refund by emailing help@umzu.com; refunds typically begin processing within 48 hours but may take up to 7 business days to post depending on your financial institution. Pending transactions may simply drop rather than appear as a credit.
UMZU offers a 60-day money-back guarantee on a first purchase of a product after at least two weeks of use. Refunds under that guarantee are issued to the original payment method minus shipping charges. The guarantee is limited to up to three distinct products per 12‑month period; multiple purchases of the same item are limited (only one purchase of the same item is eligible for a cash refund; others may receive store credit). Certain exceptions apply.
Certain items are non-refundable: books, supplements (with exceptions only as described above), personal care, food items (unless covered by the first-purchase guarantee), discounted/discontinued items, items bought with rewards points or gift cards, clothing/accessories, gift cards, or wholesale/resale orders. Importantly for Canadian customers, UMZU’s policy states that orders shipped outside the USA - including Canada - are not eligible for returns or refunds.

Your consumer rights in Canada
Canadian consumer protection varies by province. There is no single federal 14‑day automatic "cooling‑off" rule that applies uniformly to all online purchases; some provincial rules or specific circumstances (for unsolicited goods or misrepresentation) may provide cancellation or return rights. UMZU’s publicly stated policies focus on their 60‑day guarantee for first purchases and do not expressly provide a statutory 14‑day cancellation right for Canadian customers.
If a product is defective, misrepresented, or otherwise not as described, Canadian consumers may have remedies under provincial consumer protection laws or under federal law for unsafe or misrepresented products. Protections for digital content or subscription services can also differ by province. If you believe your statutory rights have been breached, consider contacting your provincial consumer protection office or seeking independent legal advice.
Customer experiences
Online reviews are mixed. Some customers report positive outcomes: product effectiveness and straightforward subscription management on desktop have been noted by reviewers who experienced timely service and good results. Example: a Trustpilot reviewer reported no issues and said their products worked well.
Other reviewers report significant problems: complaints include difficult or confusing cancellation processes, poor or slow customer support (email-only), alleged deceptive practices, delivery or tracking failures, denied refunds, and confusion around loyalty/rewards systems. Some customers in Canada reported being told refunds or returns were not available for international orders. These mixed reports suggest you should document communications and act early if you need to cancel or request a refund.
Documentation checklist
- Order number(s) and date(s)
- Account email or username used to place the order
- Subscription ID or product SKU (if available)
- Proof of charge (bank or card statement screenshot)
- Tracking number or shipping confirmation (if order shipped)
- Photographs or other proof of product use (for 60‑day guarantee) and dates of first use
- Copies/screenshots of any correspondence with UMZU (emails, chat), and the date/time sent
Common mistakes
Waiting too long is a frequent error: changes must generally be made at least 24 hours before a scheduled charge, and once an order ships, UMZU says it cannot be changed. Relying on UMZU to cancel subscriptions purchased through app stores is another common mistake - Apple and Google require you to cancel through their systems, and UMZU cannot do it for you.
Not keeping records (order numbers, screenshots of subscription pages, or copies of emails) reduces your leverage when disputing charges. Sending a cancellation letter without certified mail or failing to document delivery can make it harder to prove you requested cancellation. Finally, assuming international orders (including those shipped to Canada) are eligible for returns under UMZU’s policy is risky - UMZU’s published policy states such orders are not eligible for returns or refunds.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Web (UMZU website) | Possible if order is still in fulfillment window (email help@umzu.com); refund timing typically 48 hours up to 7 business days. | Moderate - must act ≥24 hours before charge for changes; email required if already charged but unshipped. |
| App Store (iOS) | Refunds handled by Apple per App Store policies; UMZU cannot process App Store refunds directly. | Higher - must cancel through device settings and request refunds via Apple. |
| Google Play (Android) | Refunds handled by Google Play per their policies; UMZU cannot process Google Play refunds directly. | Higher - must cancel through Google Play app and follow Google’s refund process. |
After cancelling
After you cancel, save confirmation screenshots, any confirmation emails and transaction records. If you requested a refund, monitor your payment method for the credit; allow up to 7 business days depending on your bank. If you encounter problems, follow up by email to help@umzu.com and keep a written record of all communications.
