Cancellation Cleeng: Easy Method
What is Cleeng
Cleeng is a subscription and pay-per-view commerce platform used by broadcasters and publishers to sell access to live streams and video-on-demand. Cleeng handles billing, access control and (in some cases) merchant-of-record payment processing on behalf of publishers; however, many subscriptions are managed directly by the broadcaster or by third-party app stores.
How to cancel Cleeng
- Web (via broadcaster’s website): Sign in on the broadcaster’s website → go to My Account/Profile → click “Unsubscribe.” Cancellation usually takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle; payments already taken are treated as final and non‑refundable unless otherwise eligible under refund rules.
- Google Play (Android): Open the Google Play app → Account → Subscriptions → find the subscription → Cancel (you may also cancel via the Google Play website). Note Google asks that you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. For details see Google Play subscriptions help.
- App Store (Apple/iOS): Subscriptions and in‑app purchases bought through Apple are managed by the App Store - you must cancel and request refunds through Apple directly. See Apple subscriptions help for steps and Apple refunds for requests.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a subscription purchased through a broadcaster’s website, cancellation normally prevents future renewals but does not typically provide a pro‑rata refund; access usually remains until the end of the current billing period. For subscriptions purchased via app stores (Apple/Google), cancellation stops future renewals according to the app store rules and access is normally retained until the paid period ends.
If Cleeng or the publisher issues a refund, access may be revoked immediately or billing may be stopped depending on the refund type (full or partial) and the publisher’s choice. Your account data and billing records are retained according to the publisher’s and Cleeng’s data policies.
Will I get a refund?
Refund eligibility depends on where and how you purchased content and the reason for the request. For web purchases where Cleeng acts as merchant of record, a self‑service refund option may be available within roughly 30 days via the dashboard (full or partial refunds, processed via Adyen or PayPal); refunds of this type typically revoke access if issued. For refunds on behalf of the broadcaster, Cleeng will accept requests and forward them to the broadcaster after review; acceptable reasons commonly include duplicate purchases, cancelled pay‑per‑view events, major stream failure (for example >80% failure as specified by some publishers), missing or unavailable VOD, or misleading event descriptions. Change‑of‑mind or accidental purchases are generally not eligible.
Purchases made through Apple, Google Play or other app stores must be refunded through the respective store - Cleeng cannot process those refunds. If you believe a charge is unauthorized, you can also contact your payment provider or card issuer to dispute the transaction.

Your consumer rights in Canada
Canadian consumer protection requires clear disclosure of cancellation and refund terms for digital subscriptions and gives consumers rights where services are defective or misrepresented. While businesses are not required to provide refunds for change of mind unless specified, they must be fair and transparent about terms. For app-store purchases, the store’s policy governs refunds. If you encounter refusal of a lawful refund or persistent unauthorized charges, you may contact your provincial consumer protection office or pursue a payment dispute with your bank or card issuer.
Customer experiences
Public reviews retrieved for Cleeng show many negative reports, including customers describing problems cancelling subscriptions, continued charges after cancellation, difficulties obtaining refunds, and poor or unresponsive support. Trustpilot listings for Canada and globally include numerous complaints characterizing support responses as unhelpful and noting long unresolved disputes. There are fewer positive reviews available in the retrieved data; therefore it is prudent to keep careful records when you subscribe and when you cancel.
Documentation checklist
- Purchase receipt or order confirmation (email/screenshots), subscription ID or order number, account email used for purchase, date(s) and amount(s) charged, screenshots of the subscription page and billing, any correspondence with broadcaster, Cleeng or app store support, bank or card statement lines showing the charge, event or VOD details (title, date/time).
Common mistakes
Common errors include attempting to cancel in the wrong place (for example cancelling on Cleeng when the subscription is managed by Apple or Google), missing the 24‑hour Google Play cancellation window, assuming Cleeng can refund purchases made via the App Store, and failing to keep proof of purchase or communication. Many reported problems stem from unclear publisher instructions or from not following the publisher’s or app store’s cancellation flow exactly.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Web (via broadcaster’s website) | Possible (Cleeng may allow web refunds within ~30 days or publisher may issue refunds; subject to conditions) | Medium - High (publisher-dependent; some users report difficulty) |
| Google Play (Android) | Handled by Google Play (refunds via Google policies); cancel at least 24 hours before renewal | Medium (standard Google process; time limits apply) |
| App Store (Apple) | Handled by Apple App Store (request via Apple) | Medium (managed by Apple; follow Apple’s refund flow) |
After cancelling
After you cancel, retain all documentation and monitor your payment method for further charges. If a charge continues after confirmed cancellation, first contact the broadcaster and Cleeng support (see Cleeng support) and document the interaction. If unresolved, request a refund through the payment method or app store, and consider contacting your provincial consumer protection agency or disputing the charge with your bank.
