What happens when you cancel

Account access and data

Deleting backups removes your stored data from Backblaze; this action is irreversible unless you have local copies. Make sure to download any needed files before deleting backups.

If you cancel a subscription but keep backups until deletion, you may still access data until account deletion is completed per the web interface steps.

Billing, renewal and licenses

Removing backups and licenses via the web stops further billing. Subscriptions purchased through app stores must be cancelled via the store to stop renewals.

Monthly subscriptions will not be refunded after cancellation as per Backblaze policy (see next section).

Restores and restore drives

You can restore files after cancelling only if the backups still exist and the account allows access. If you ordered a USB restore drive, return and refund rules apply (see refunds).

Large web restores may be less reliable for some users; the USB drive is an alternative but has return conditions.

Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable. Cancelling a monthly plan does not trigger a pro-rata refund even if you cancel mid-period.

USB restore drive returns
