Cancellation Teachable: Easy Method
What is Teachable
Overview
Teachable is an online platform that lets creators build, host, and sell courses and digital products. It provides course authoring tools, student management, and payment processing through native gateways.
Who uses it
Creators (schools) use Teachable to publish and monetise courses; students use it to purchase and access course content. Businesses, educators, and independent instructors commonly adopt the platform for digital education delivery.
How to cancel Teachable
App Store (Apple)
- Open your Apple device and go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions.
- Find the Teachable subscription and choose Cancel Subscription.
- Note: Teachable cannot cancel App Store subscriptions for you; you must cancel via your Apple ID.
Google Play (Android)
- Open the Google Play Store app and tap your profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
- Select the Teachable subscription and tap Cancel subscription.
- Note: Teachable cannot cancel Google Play subscriptions for you; cancel through your Google Play account.
Web (Teachable creator plans)
- Sign in to your Teachable admin account and go to Settings > Billing.
- Use the cancellation option there; your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period.
- For plan changes or written refund requests, follow the instructions in Settings > Billing and contact Teachable or the school owner as required.
What happens when you cancel
Access and content
If you cancel a creator (school) subscription on the web, the subscription typically remains active until the current billing period ends.
Course content and student progress are usually retained by the school owner; students lose access according to the school’s access settings after cancellation or subscription expiry.
Billing and renewal
Recurring charges stop after the current paid period unless you cancel through the correct channel (App Store, Google Play, or Teachable web admin).
Keep cancellation confirmations or screenshots as proof in case of billing disputes.
Will I get a refund?
Student course purchases via Teachable native gateways
- Eligible for a full refund within 14 days of purchase in many cases, when the school processes refunds per policy.
- Refunds after 14 days may be possible if the school has a positive balance, subject to a daily cap of USD 10,000.
- Generally no refunds after 180 days from purchase, except at the school owner’s discretion.
Creator (school) subscription refunds and fees
- Creators have a full, no-questions-asked refund within 30 days of signing up or upgrading, if requested in writing after cancelling via Settings > Billing.
- Stripe processing and platform transaction fees are not returned when processing refunds (change effective November 6, 2025).
- To request a refund, cancel in Settings > Billing and submit the refund request in writing to the appropriate contact as required by Teachable or the school owner.

No official INR prices are published publicly for India. Plan prices above are in USD and should be converted to INR using current exchange rates.
Local taxes, payment processor fees, or platform surcharges may apply at checkout depending on your payment method and country.
Your consumer rights in India
Relevant laws
India’s Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and related rules provide rights such as the right to refund and grievance redressal for deficient services or unfair trade practices.
Indian consumers retain statutory protections even when using global platforms; these laws allow complaints to local consumer forums when reasonable expectations are not met.
How to seek redress
- First, follow Teachable’s cancellation and refund process as applicable to your purchase channel.
- If unsatisfied, escalate to the school owner, then to Teachable using the procedures in their terms of use.
- If local remedies fail, you may file a complaint with the appropriate Indian consumer forum or consumer court under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Customer experiences
Positive feedback
- Many users find Teachable user-friendly and intuitive for creating courses quickly.
- Several reviewers report helpful and understanding customer service interactions when issues are resolved satisfactorily.
Common complaints
- Frequent comments about slow customer service and heavy reliance on automated/AI support rather than rapid human responses.
- Complaints about pricing increases, feature removal from cheaper plans, technical issues accessing content, and occasional payout holds or delays.
Documentation checklist
For cancelling a subscription
- Account email and username used on Teachable.
- Subscription receipts or order IDs from App Store, Google Play, or Teachable billing.
- Screenshot of active subscription in App Store/Google Play or Teachable Settings > Billing.
For refund requests or disputes
- Proof of purchase (transaction ID, payment method, date).
- Correspondence with the school owner or Teachable support (timestamps, case numbers).
- Any evidence of service deficiency (access errors, missing content screenshots).
Common mistakes
Cancelling via the wrong channel
Many users try to cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription through Teachable’s web admin; these platform purchases must be cancelled through Apple or Google.
Example: Cancelling on teachable.com will not stop App Store billing; you must cancel via your Apple ID subscriptions.
Expecting instant refunds or access changes
Expect delays: refunds often require school owner approval or Teachable processing and may be subject to caps and fees.
Also, cancelling does not always remove access immediately; access often remains until the paid period ends or per the school’s settings.
