Cancellation Omnisend: Easy Method
What is Omnisend
Overview
Omnisend is a SaaS marketing automation platform built for e-commerce businesses to run email, SMS and automation campaigns.
It operates on a subscription model (Free tier plus paid Standard/Pro tiers) and integrates with popular storefronts and apps.
Primary uses
Merchants use Omnisend for automated welcome flows, cart recovery, segmentation and multi-channel campaigns.
Billing is handled in USD and conversion to INR is performed by the customer's bank or card issuer.
How to cancel Omnisend
Cancel from the Web (admin interface)
- Sign in to your Omnisend account and open the admin (billing/subscription) area.
- Choose to downgrade, cancel to the Free plan, freeze, or delete your account.
- Cancellation to the Free plan takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle; data is preserved and reactivation is possible.
- Freezing costs a one-time $50 fee, preserves data up to 12 months, and cannot be reused within 12 months.
- Deletion removes all account data immediately (or within 48 hours if requested).
- See Omnisend's instructions: Downgrade, cancel or freeze your Omnisend subscription.
Cancel via mobile app stores
- If billed through Apple App Store (iOS), manage and cancel the subscription in your Apple ID / App Store subscriptions settings.
- If billed through Google Play, manage and cancel via Google Play subscription settings.
- Omnisend’s help pages indicate these are handled by the stores and do not document in-app cancellation inside Omnisend: support article.
Cancel SMS subscription (separate)
- SMS credits/subscription are managed separately in Store Settings → Pricing and usage → SMS credits → Change SMS subscription → Cancel.
- Cancelling SMS does not cancel your Standard or Pro plan.
- See Omnisend's SMS management guide: Manage your Omnisend SMS credits subscription.
What happens when you cancel
Access and feature changes
When you cancel to the Free plan, paid features stop at the end of the billing period and your account reverts to the Free tier capabilities.
If you delete the account, access ends immediately and campaigns, automations and contacts are removed per the deletion process.
Data retention and freeze
Freezing preserves account data for up to 12 months after payment of a one-time $50 freeze fee.
Deletion removes all data immediately or within 48 hours upon request; reactivation after deletion is not possible without creating a new account.
Will I get a refund?
Standard refund policy
Omnisend states that charges for paid Standard and Pro plans are generally non-refundable because subscriptions are prepaid and auto-renewing.
To avoid renewal charges, cancel before the next billing cycle starts.
Possible exceptions
- Refunds may be considered in limited cases, for example if you did not use any paid features during the charged period.
- Exceptional situations include failed cancellation (you cancelled but were still charged), system malfunctions preventing use, or account compromise.
- Refunds, if issued, may be partial and not exceed the amount paid minus vendor costs; SMS credits and add-ons are not refundable.
- See Omnisend's refund policy: Omnisend refund policy.
Omnisend plans and pricing
Pricing availability
Omnisend does not publish official INR pricing on its public help pages; billing is presented in USD with bank/card conversion for INR customers.
For exact current USD amounts and available tiers contact Omnisend sales or check your account billing page.
Contact for pricing
| Plan | Period | Price / Note |
|---|---|---|
| Free | N/A | Free tier available - check account for limits |
| Standard | Billing cycle | Contact for pricing (billed in USD) |
| Pro | Billing cycle | Contact for pricing (billed in USD) |
| SMS credits / Add-ons | Per credit / Periodic | Purchased separately - non-refundable |
Your consumer rights in India
Relevant law
The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and related rules provide general protections for consumers in India, including rights to redress for deficient services.
There is no universal EU-style 14-day digital withdrawal right specified for India; entitlement depends on the contract and applicable consumer law.
Practical steps for Indian consumers
- Request cancellation and a written confirmation from Omnisend support via your account or Help Center.
- If refund requests are refused and you believe local law supports your claim, you may escalate to the local consumer forum or seek legal advice.
- Keep copies of receipts, billing statements and support correspondence as evidence.
Customer experiences
Positive feedback
Reviews commonly praise reliability, ease of use, ready templates, automation and responsive onboarding support.
High ratings are visible on review pages such as the Shopify App Store and Trustpilot.
See merchant feedback: Omnisend on Shopify.
Negative feedback
Some users report integration issues with certain platforms, slow or inconsistent support response times, and occasional system glitches.
These issues appear in public reviews and should be weighed when deciding to continue or cancel. See: Omnisend reviews on Trustpilot.
Documentation checklist
Before you request cancellation
- Account email and account ID or company name used for Omnisend account.
- Latest invoice(s) and payment receipts showing charged amounts and dates.
- Screenshots of subscription settings showing current plan and billing cycle.
If you need a refund or dispute
- Support ticket IDs and copies of all correspondence with Omnisend support.
- Date and time of attempted cancellation and evidence of any service failure.
- Bank/transaction statements showing any unexpected charges.
Common mistakes
Missing the billing cutoff
Many users forget to cancel before the renewal date and are charged for the next cycle. Always cancel at least one full day before renewal to be safe.
Confusing SMS and plan cancellations
Users sometimes cancel SMS credits but leave the paid plan active, or vice versa. SMS subscriptions are managed separately and do not auto-cancel your Standard/Pro plan.
Comparative recap
Quick comparison overview
| Aspect | Omnisend | Typical outcome | Period |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cancel via Web | Downgrade, freeze, delete or cancel to Free from admin | Free downgrade effective end of billing; data preserved unless deleted | End of billing cycle |
| Cancel via App Store / Play | Managed by Apple/Google - not via Omnisend UI | Store cancels next renewal; Omnisend may require separate action for account deletion | Store billing cycle |
| SMS subscription | Cancelled separately in Store Settings | SMS stops but plan remains unless separately cancelled | Immediate or next credit period |
| Refund likelihood | Generally non-refundable; rare exceptions considered | Refunds possible only in limited, documented cases | Case-by-case |
After cancelling
Immediate actions
Export your contacts, reports, and any important campaign data before deletion or freezing where possible.
