Cancellation Photolab: Easy Method
What is Photolab
Overview
Photolab is a subscription-based photo-editing app that offers filters, effects and enhancement tools for transforming images on mobile devices and the web.
The service provides free features plus paid premium tiers that unlock additional filters and capabilities for regular users.
Key features
Photolab includes creative filters, AI-enhanced effects and standard editing tools aimed at casual and social users.
Subscriptions unlock premium filters, remove ads and grant extended access to advanced options.
How to cancel Photolab
Cancel on mobile stores
- App Store (iOS): Open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → find PhotoLab → Cancel Subscription. Do this at least 24 hours before renewal; you cannot cancel a subscription inside the Photolab app.
- Google Play (Android): Open Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → PhotoLab → Cancel. Do this at least 24 hours before renewal; cancellation must be done via Play Store, not inside the app.
Cancel web or direct purchases
- Web/direct purchases: Contact Photolab by email at enquires@photolabdigital.com to request cancellation.
- Postal requests: You may send a postal letter to the developer address if you prefer written correspondence (see Address section).
What happens when you cancel
Access after cancellation
After you cancel, you typically retain access to premium features until the end of the paid billing period.
Features will stop working only after the current subscription period expires; cancelled subscriptions generally do not end immediately.
Billing and renewal
No new recurring charges should occur after a successful cancellation, but verify your store/subscription screen for confirmation.
If renewal occurs despite cancellation, gather receipts and evidence and contact the store (Apple/Google) or Photolab support promptly.
Will I get a refund?
App Store and Google Play purchases
App Store purchases: refunds are handled by Apple. Refunds for unused periods are generally not guaranteed and requests must go through the App Store support process.
Google Play purchases: refunds are handled by Google. Google Play may process refund requests (often within about 14 days); Photolab cannot track Google refunds before Play processes them.
Web purchases and special cases
Web/Stripe purchases: Photolab processes web refund requests via its billing system. Photolab states refunds are not guaranteed and eligibility may depend on timing.
Photolab indicates web refund requests should be made within 7 days of the last payment and, if approved, are typically processed within about 10 days.

Your consumer rights in India
Applicable law
Indian consumer protection law (Consumer Protection Act, 2019) provides rights against defective goods or services and misleading or unfair trade practices.
Standard store policies (Apple/Google) apply, but statutory consumer rights under Indian law may still protect you.
How it may affect refunds and cancellations
Photolab’s stated no-refund-for-unused-period policy may be overridden if a service is defective, misrepresented or otherwise violates consumer protection rules.
If you believe you have been misled or charged incorrectly, consider contacting your payment provider, Apple/Google support, and consumer grievance channels in India.
Customer experiences
Positive feedback
Many users praise Photolab for its creative and unique photo effects, ease of use and usefulness for social sharing.
Several reviews note high satisfaction and strong design, often reflected in ratings above four stars.
Common complaints
Frequent negative reports include app crashes, difficulty accessing features, and frustration with subscription management or perceived charges after stopping use.
Other complaints reference limited free features, perceived poor value, and concerns about some filters not meeting expectations for diverse users.
Documentation checklist
What to collect
- Subscription confirmation email or app store receipt (transaction ID and date).
- Screenshot of your subscription status showing cancellation or active renewal.
- Bank or card statement showing the charge.
How to present your case
- Provide a concise timeline: purchase date, renewal date, cancellation attempt date.
- Include any error messages, screenshots of attempts to cancel, and correspondence with support.
Common mistakes
Typical errors users make
Trying to cancel the subscription inside the Photolab app instead of via the App Store or Google Play is a frequent mistake.
Another common error is assuming cancellation triggers an immediate refund or immediate loss of access.
How to avoid them
Always cancel through the store where you subscribed (Apple ID or Google account) and confirm cancellation on the subscription screen.
Keep receipts and take screenshots of cancellation confirmation; contact the correct support channel (store or Photolab) if charges continue.
