Cancel ResumeNerd: Easy Method

What is ResumeNerd

Overview

ResumeNerd is an online resume and career-document service that offers resume building, templates and related coaching tools via a web portal and related apps.

Service model

Subscriptions are managed through ResumeNerd’s website and support channels. The company’s terms list a Cayman Islands business address and reserve certain rights on cancellations and refunds.

How to cancel ResumeNerd

Cancel via web (recommended)

• Log in to your ResumeNerd account on the web.
• Click the user icon, choose "Manage Account".
• Click "Cancel Subscription" and follow prompts to confirm.
• Check your email for a cancellation number; keep it for records.

Cancel via email or phone

• Email: Send a cancellation request to [email protected]. You should receive a cancellation number by email.
• Phone: ResumeNerd lists phone support for US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia only. No Nigeria-specific phone number is provided; phone cancellation may not be available from Nigeria.
• App stores: The company provides no guidance for cancelling via the App Store or Google Play - follow Apple/Google subscription cancellation if you subscribed in-app.

What happens when you cancel

Access and renewal

After cancellation your subscription will generally stop future renewals. Access to paid features may continue until the end of the current billing period.

Data and account status

Your account data (resumes, templates) may remain available unless you delete it. Retain copies of important files and screenshots before cancelling.

Will I get a refund?

Refund policy overview

Refunds are not guaranteed by ResumeNerd. Any approved refund will be credited to the original payment method used for the purchase.

Exceptions and practical steps

• If you believe a charge is erroneous, contact [email protected] and provide evidence (screenshots, dates, cancellation number).
• If the company refuses and you paid by card, you may contact your bank or card issuer to request a charge dispute or reversal; keep all correspondence.

ResumeNerd plans and pricing

Pricing sources

ResumeNerd’s web pricing is typically in USD on the site. Some app store listings (for a related "Resume Builder+" app) show Euro prices in Nigeria.

Your consumer rights in Nigeria

Local consumer protection

ResumeNerd’s terms do not explicitly reference Nigerian statutory rights. Nigerian consumers can seek help from the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) for complaints against traders.

Practical steps under Nigerian context

• Keep written records of purchase, cancellation attempts and communications with ResumeNerd.
• If you paid by card or bank transfer, contact your bank to discuss charge disputes or reversals if you cannot obtain a satisfactory company response.

Customer experiences

Positive feedback

• Many users praise the easy interface, helpful templates and AI features that improved resumes.
• Some reviewers report good, responsive customer service and positive job-search outcomes after using the product.

Negative feedback

• Frequent complaints concern unexpected recurring charges after trials and unclear auto-renewal notices.
• Users report difficulty cancelling before being charged, login issues, and occasional multiple charges or unclear billing practices.

Documentation checklist

Essential items to collect

• Order confirmation and payment receipts (screenshots or PDFs).
• Emails exchanged with support and the cancellation number you received.
• Date/time stamps showing attempts to cancel and any error messages.

Optional supporting items

• Bank or card statements showing charges and amounts.
• Account screenshots showing subscription status and billing cycle.

Common mistakes

Missing cancellation confirmation

Users often believe cancellation is complete without checking for a confirmation email. Without a cancellation number, it is harder to prove you cancelled before a renewal.

Using the wrong channel

Some customers expect App Store or Google Play guidance from ResumeNerd. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, cancel through the store settings; emailing ResumeNerd may not cancel an in-app subscription automatically.
