Cancellation Evernote: Easy Method
What is Evernote
Overview
Evernote is a cloud-based note-taking and organisation app that stores notes, documents and to-do lists across devices.
It offers a Free tier plus paid plans that add upload limits, syncing and premium features for productivity and organisation.
Core features
Core capabilities include note creation, search, sync across devices and basic organisation with notebooks and tags.
Paid plans add higher upload caps, task features, templates and offline access depending on the tier.
How to cancel Evernote
Web (credit card, PayPal, SEPA)
- Sign in to your Evernote account on the web.
- Go to Account Settings → Billing → Manage or Cancel plan.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to cancel; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
Mobile purchases (Apple App Store / Google Play)
- If you subscribed via Apple App Store, cancel via your Apple ID / App Store subscription settings; Evernote cannot cancel App Store subscriptions for you.
- If you subscribed via Google Play, cancel from Google Play > Subscriptions; Evernote cannot cancel Play Store subscriptions for you.
- For Apple subscribers, see the Evernote App Store listing: Evernote on the Singapore App Store.
What happens when you cancel
Access and features
After cancellation your account remains active until the end of the paid billing period.
When the paid period ends the account reverts to the Free tier and paid features are removed or limited.
Data and continuity
Your notes and data remain associated with your account on the Free tier unless you delete them.
Export any critical notes before downgrading if you need local copies or full exports for archive purposes.
Will I get a refund?
Direct purchases via Evernote
- Monthly subscriptions: refundable if you request a refund within 20 days of payment for direct web purchases.
- Annual subscriptions: refundable if you request a refund within 60 days of payment for direct web purchases.
- No prorated refunds are given outside these windows; these are the standard direct-purchase rules.
Purchases via app stores and exceptions
- Purchases made through Apple App Store or Google Play are subject to those platforms’ refund policies; Evernote may be unable to issue refunds for those transactions.
- Evernote may grant discretionary refunds or credits in exceptional cases (policy changes, major outages), but only at its sole discretion and subject to applicable law.

Your consumer rights in Singapore
Refund expectations under local norms
Singapore consumer protection expects clear refund windows and reasonable customer support for digital subscriptions.
Evernote’s 20‑day (monthly) and 60‑day (annual) refund terms for direct purchases are explicit, but platform purchases are governed by app store terms.
How to escalate a dispute
If you believe terms were misrepresented or refunds denied unfairly, you can contact the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) for guidance and dispute resolution.
Keep receipts, timestamps and correspondence to support any complaint or claim.
Customer experiences
Positive reports
Some users report that Evernote remains reliable for core note-taking, sync and search, with near real‑time syncing across devices.
For user comments on reliability see community posts such as: Reddit: Evernote positive reports.
Negative reports
Other users report issues including aggressive pricing, unexpected charges, sync problems and difficult support or refund experiences.
Wider consumer complaints and reviews can be found at: Trustpilot: Evernote reviews and Reddit: support & billing complaints.
Documentation checklist
Before contacting Evernote support
- Subscription receipt or invoice showing charge date and amount.
- Account email/username and subscription ID (if available).
- Screenshots of billing page, subscription status and any error messages.
If you escalate to CASE or your payment provider
- All correspondence with Evernote support, including timestamps and case numbers.
- Bank or card statements showing the charge and any refunds or attempted refunds.
- Records of steps you took to cancel (screenshots of Account Settings → Billing).
Common mistakes
Cancelling via the wrong channel
Example: trying to cancel an App Store subscription through Evernote web settings. That will not stop App Store renewals.
Always cancel through the platform where you originally subscribed (Apple ID/App Store or Google Play for mobile purchases).
Assuming automatic refunds or immediate downgrades
Example: expecting a prorated refund the moment you cancel. Evernote’s direct-purchase policy limits refunds to specific windows and typically does not prorate beyond those windows.
Also avoid deleting your account before exporting content if you need copies of notes.
