Cancellation Mcqueens Dairies: Easy Method
What is Mcqueens Dairies
Service overview
Mcqueens Dairies is a UK-based milk and grocery doorstep delivery service that operates on a subscription model and supplies fresh dairy and related products directly to customers' doors.
The company manages recurring deliveries, billing and customer accounts through its UK website and customer service team.
Why this guide for South Africa
This guide explains how to cancel Mcqueens Dairies if you are a South African customer or resident dealing with a UK supplier, and what to expect about refunds, record-keeping and local consumer options.
It combines the company's published cancellation rules with practical steps relevant to customers in South Africa.
How to cancel Mcqueens Dairies
Primary cancellation method
- All cancellations must be made by telephone: call 0330 555 5588.
- Phone cancellations must meet the company timing rules (see next subsection).
- The company does not accept cancellations through app stores or via in‑app automated cancellation.
Timing rules and practical steps
- Call 0330 555 5588 by 9:00 am on the day before your scheduled delivery (Monday - Friday).
- For deliveries scheduled for Monday, call by 9:00 am on the preceding Friday.
- When you call, ask the agent for a cancellation reference or confirmation and note the agent’s name.
Why you must phone (important)
Mcqueens requires phone cancellation so an agent can check and settle any outstanding account balance before ending deliveries.
The company states it does not support online cancellation via the app; phone contact is the official route.
Official cancellation information: Mcqueens Dairies - Cancel account.
What happens when you cancel
Account and deliveries
Once cancelled, regular deliveries should stop and no further subscription deliveries should be scheduled.
Confirm the date of the final delivery and whether a final payment will be taken.
Billing and outstanding balance
An agent may settle any outstanding charges on your account before closure; ask for written confirmation of any final amounts.
Keep a copy of the cancellation confirmation for your records in case deliveries continue after cancellation.
Data retention and communication
The company will retain account records for billing and regulatory purposes; ask if you want account data deleted or kept.
Request confirmation in writing by email or ask the agent to confirm the cancellation reference you can store.
Will I get a refund?
Standard refund rights (company policy)
- You may cancel goods within 14 days after delivery and receive a full refund subject to lawful deductions for handling or return costs.
- Refunds must be issued within 14 days of the company receiving returned goods, or within 14 days of notice of cancellation if the goods have not been collected or redelivered.
Non-delivery and account credit
- Report non-delivery within 48 hours to be eligible for a refund.
- Refunds for non-delivery are typically applied as account credit in the following week.
Perishable, defective or incorrectly described goods
- Defective, faulty or incorrectly described perishable goods should be reported before expiry or within 3 working days of delivery.
- Approved refunds for defective perishable goods are issued back to the original payment method.
Direct Debit and immediate refunds
- If your Direct Debit is taken in error you can ask your bank or building society for a full and immediate refund under the Direct Debit Guarantee.
- Company explanation of the Direct Debit Guarantee: Direct Debit Guarantee - Mcqueens Dairies.

Your consumer rights in South Africa
General protections
South African consumers are protected by the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), which provides rights relating to fair value, quality and safety of goods and services.
The CPA also covers direct marketing and certain cooling-off rights for transactions concluded away from business premises or by direct marketing.
If you buy from an overseas supplier
Buying from a UK supplier can complicate enforcement of South African consumer law; jurisdiction and practical remedies may be limited.
Keep all written records, receipts and communication to support any cross-border complaint or bank chargeback claim.
Bank and payment protections in South Africa
If a payment is taken in error, contact your South African bank or card issuer promptly to ask about chargeback or reversal options.
For recurring payments, you can also instruct your bank to stop future payments and notify the supplier in writing.
Customer experiences
Positive reports
- Some customers praise the freshness and quality of products and the convenience of doorstep delivery.
- There are accounts of smooth phone cancellations where overcharges were quickly waived and no fuss was made; see an example review: Customer review on Reviews.io.
Negative reports and common complaints
- Multiple customers report problems such as unsolicited deliveries, continued billing after cancellation, and difficulty cancelling.
- Some complaints mention aggressive or confusing door‑to‑door sales and pushy customer service when trying to cancel; see community reports: Customer comments.
How to interpret these experiences
Customer experiences vary; take steps to document every contact and insist on written confirmation to reduce the chance of disputes.
If problems persist, escalate with your bank or local consumer authorities and retain all records.
Documentation checklist
Essential items to collect
- Order number, delivery date(s) and product list.
- Photographs of delivered goods (or lack of delivery) and packaging showing dates.
- Bank or card statements showing payments or debits.
Communication records
- Phone call date, time, agent name and cancellation/reference number.
- Copies of emails, SMS, screenshots of account pages and any written confirmation of cancellation.
Common mistakes
Relying only on verbal cancellation
Example: cancelling by phone but not asking for a reference - this can leave you without proof if deliveries continue.
Always request and save a cancellation confirmation reference and the agent’s name.
Missing the cut-off time
Example: calling after the 9:00 am cut-off for a next-day delivery - the delivery may still be scheduled and billed.
Check the day-before or Friday (for Monday deliveries) deadline and act earlier where possible.
Assuming app or store cancellations work
Example: attempting to cancel via an app store or Google Play subscription - Mcqueens requires a telephone cancellation instead.
Do not rely on third-party app store actions to stop deliveries without confirming with Mcqueens by phone.
