How to cancel Hitfilm
Cancel - before the platform shutdown rules changed
- Write a clear cancellation statement (for example: “Please cancel my HitFilm subscription and do not renew.”).
- Send that statement to FXhome Customer Support at least 14 calendar days before the next automatic renewal, per FXhome Terms.

What happens when you cancel
Access to software
If you cancel before renewal your paid subscription remains active until the end of the paid period in most cases.
After the paid period ends you will lose paid features and may revert to the free/Creator tier, retaining any local project files.
Data, projects and settings
Your local project files and exported media remain on your computer; cancelling a subscription does not delete local files.
Account-stored settings or cloud-saved items depend on FXhome policies - export or backup everything you need before losing paid features.
Will I get a refund?
Change-of-mind refunds (web subscriptions)
FXhome Terms allow a full refund if you cancel within 14 days of order acceptance (the “Cancellation Period”).
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 14 calendar days after acceptance of the refund request.
Technical problems, exceptions and free plans
- Refunds outside the 14-day cancellation period may be available under statutory consumer rights if the product is defective; FXhome evaluates these cases.
- Free-plan users are not entitled to refunds.
- Keep evidence of defects, error messages and correspondence to support a technical/refund claim.
