Cancellation Dialpad: Easy Method
What is Dialpad
Dialpad is a cloud-based business communications platform that provides VoIP phone service, messaging, meetings and AI-powered features such as voicemail transcription and call summaries. It integrates with common business tools (CRM and workspace platforms) and is used by teams for desk and mobile calling, contact centre functions, and unified communications.
How to cancel Dialpad (Canada)
- Free trial: while your free trial is active you can cancel directly from the Billing Summary page in Admin Settings - see Dialpad's guide at Cancel your Dialpad account.
- Paid accounts with 5 licenses or fewer: sign in as an admin, go to Admin Settings → Billing (Billing Summary) and follow the on‑screen cancellation flow to stop automatic renewal.
- Paid accounts with more than 5 licenses: Dialpad requires you to contact the Customer Success Team to cancel; use your account admin contact channel or support portal to request cancellation.
- App Store / Google Play cancellations: Dialpad's Help Center documents web cancellations only; there is no official in‑app cancellation guidance - if you subscribed through an app store, check your Apple/Google subscription management and the app store's refund policy.
- If you need written/legal notice, send a signed cancellation letter by registered mail to Dialpad's Canadian office (see Address section below) and keep the proof of delivery.
What happens when you cancel
Cancelling prevents future billing and typically stops automatic renewal. Unused calling or international credits expire on cancellation and will not be carried forward. Account access, phone numbers and stored data are governed by Dialpad’s terms - export or back up any recordings, messages, contacts or reports you need before completing cancellation. After cancellation, service access and data retention are subject to the contract and Dialpad’s policies, so confirm timing and any post‑termination access with support.
Will I get a refund?
Dialpad's published policy is generally no refunds: unused calling or international credits expire on cancellation and Dialpad does not provide prorations or refunds for unused licenses or unused portions of annual plans. An exception exists for credit card charges (monthly or annual) if you cancel within 3 days of the transaction - Dialpad will process a refund in that narrow window. Separately, under the Master Services Agreement (MSA) a customer may be entitled to a prorated refund if Dialpad commits a material breach; consult the MSA and Dialpad support for details.
Dialpad plans and pricing
Representative Canadian pricing (per user) and common plan features - check your account or Dialpad sales for the latest, region‑specific offers.
| Plan | Price | Billing period | Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard (annual billing) | C$20.00 per user/month | Monthly (billed annually) | Unlimited Canada/US calls, AI call transcription, messaging, Google Workspace integration |
| Standard (monthly billing) | C$35.00 per user/month | Monthly (billed monthly) | Same as annual Standard, higher monthly price |
| Pro (annual billing) | C$30.00 per user/month | Monthly (billed annually) | Everything in Standard, plus CRM integrations, 24/7 support, multi‑office management |
| Pro (monthly billing) | C$40.00 per user/month | Monthly (billed monthly) | Same as annual Pro, higher monthly price |

Your consumer rights in Canada
Canadian consumer protections for distance contracts can include a 14‑day cooling‑off period for some online purchases, but digital subscription services where performance begins immediately are commonly exempt. In practice, Dialpad’s own published policies - including the limited 3‑day refund window for credit card transactions - are the practical limit for most individual consumers (B2C). Provincial rules (for example Ontario's Consumer Protection Act) may apply in specific circumstances, but digital SaaS subscriptions are usually governed chiefly by the service terms unless a statutory right overrides them. If you believe a statutory consumer right applies to your case, consider seeking local consumer protection advice.
Customer experiences
Public reviews from Canadian users are mixed. Positive feedback highlights Dialpad's ease of use, modern interface, AI features (voicemail transcription, call summaries), multi‑device experience and generally good call quality and responsive support. Negative reports commonly cite billing problems (unexpected charges or troubles cancelling), unpredictable auto‑renewals, occasional dropped calls or SMS issues, and instances of slow or unhelpful support responses. For firsthand accounts see review platforms such as Trustpilot and software review sites like GetApp/Capterra.
Documentation checklist
- Admin account login and email used for the Dialpad admin console
- Billing account details and last payment date (credit card transaction date)
- Number of licenses/users and the plan type (monthly vs annual)
- Copies/screenshots of billing page showing current plan and renewal date
- Invoices or receipts for recent charges
- Exported backups of recordings, messages, contacts and reports you will need
- Support ticket IDs or confirmation emails relating to your cancellation request
- Postal mailing copy of signed cancellation letter if you plan to send registered mail
Common mistakes
Common errors include assuming cancellation through an app store will cancel the Dialpad account (Dialpad documents web cancellations only), waiting until after an automatic renewal to cancel and losing eligibility for the 3‑day refund window, failing to back up recordings or contacts before service termination, and not confirming cancellation in writing or via a support ticket. Another frequent issue is trying to cancel a large account via the admin billing UI when a Customer Success contact is required - that delays completion.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Cancel from Admin Settings (≤5 licenses) | No refund generally; 3‑day credit card exception may apply | Easy |
| Cancel free trial (Billing Summary) | N/A (no charge) - cancel while trial is active to avoid conversion | Easy |
| Contact Customer Success Team (>5 licenses) | No refund generally; 3‑day exception and MSA breach exception possible | Moderate - High (requires direct engagement) |
| App Store / Google Play subscription | Undocumented by Dialpad; follow store refund/subscription rules | Unknown - High (depends on app store processes) |
| Registered mail (formal notice) | No refund generally; used for legal certainty or disputes | High (formal/legal process) |
After cancelling
After you cancel, confirm cancellation with a support ticket and retain any confirmation or cancellation ID. Export any recordings, voicemails, contact lists and reports you want to keep before losing access. For official guidance and to start the process, use Dialpad’s help pages: Cancel your Dialpad account and Cancellation and refund FAQs. If you consider a legal notice or need proof of delivery, send a signed letter by registered mail (raccomandata A/R) to the Vancouver office and keep the receipt as evidence. For contractual questions about refunds under material breach, consult the MSA or seek legal advice.
