Cancellation Doodle: Easy Method
What is Doodle
Overview
Doodle is an online scheduling tool that helps individuals and groups arrange meetings, polls and bookings. It offers a free plan and paid tiers (Pro, Team, Professional) with additional features such as ad‑free use, booking pages, calendar integrations and admin controls.
Scope for Canada
This guide explains how to cancel Doodle subscriptions bought directly from Doodle (web) or via third‑party app stores, and what to expect in Canada regarding refunds and consumer rights.
How to cancel Doodle
- Via Doodle Parent Dashboard (web): Log in to your Parent Dashboard → My Account → Subscriptions → click “Cancel subscription” (or “Cancel free trial” if in trial). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. See Doodle's steps: How to cancel (web).
- Via online cancellation form or email/post (web‑direct customers): You may also cancel by submitting Doodle’s online cancellation form or by sending an email. For postal cancellation send a registered letter to the legal head office (address at the end of this guide). See cancellation policy: Cancellation policy.
- If you subscribed through Google Play (Android): Open the Google Play Store on your Android device → Menu → Subscriptions → select the Doodle app → Tap “Cancel subscription” and follow on‑screen instructions. See: Cancel on Android.
- If you subscribed via the Apple App Store or other third‑party app stores (Google Play, Amazon): You must cancel through that provider’s account/subscription settings. Doodle cannot cancel third‑party app store subscriptions for you. For information about refunds after the Doodle mobile app change see: Mobile app changes.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a Doodle subscription that was taken out directly through Doodle (web), the cancellation will take effect at the end of the current paid billing period: you keep access to paid features until that date and you will not be charged again. Doodle cannot retroactively stop charges already processed before the cancellation takes effect.
If you cancel a subscription purchased through an app store, the provider’s terms determine access and renewal; Doodle cannot stop or refund those charges directly. Your account and any polls or bookings you created remain in Doodle; paid features will stop when your subscription ends. Data retention and deletion follow Doodle’s privacy and data policies.
Will I get a refund?
If you bought your subscription directly from Doodle (web), Doodle offers a 14‑day cooling‑off period starting from the first payment (trials excluded). If you cancel and request a refund within that 14‑day window you are entitled to a full refund, which is processed within 14 days back to the original payment method with no fees. See: Cancellation policy.
Outside the initial 14‑day period: annual web‑direct subscriptions remain active until the end of the paid year but are generally not refundable for the unused portion. Monthly web‑direct subscriptions are not refunded outside the cooling‑off window. Doodle Professional annual purchases may be refunded if requested within 14 days; Doodle Professional monthly subscribers may be eligible for prorated refunds in accordance with statutory rights. For subscriptions purchased through Apple or Google Play, refunds must be requested from Apple or Google under their refund procedures; Doodle cannot issue those refunds directly.

Your consumer rights in Canada
Canada does not have a single, nationwide consumer cooling‑off rule identical to the EU; consumer protection is largely governed by federal and provincial/territorial statutes and by the terms of the contract you accepted. Doodle’s 14‑day web‑direct cooling‑off/refund offer is a contractual right it provides to customers (excluding trials) and aligns with common consumer protections in many regions.
If you believe Doodle has not honored its stated refund policy, you can contact your payment provider or card issuer about disputing a charge, and you can raise the matter with your provincial/territorial consumer protection office. For purchases through Apple or Google Play, Apple and Google set refund and cancellation rules; contact them first for those purchases.
Customer experiences
Public reviews show a mix of opinions. Many users (including Canadian reviewers) praise Doodle’s simplicity and efficiency for scheduling group meetings, highlighting ease of creating polls and useful integrations. These positive reviews note time saved and value in paid features.
Conversely, some reviewers - particularly on platforms like Trustpilot - criticize the app and service for confusing navigation, heavy advertising on the free tier, glitches, and difficulties with cancellation and support. These negative experiences often reflect frustration with app store purchases and expectations around in‑app vs web functionality.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and username used with Doodle
- Order number or receipt and date of first payment
- Payment method details (card, PayPal) and last four digits if applicable
- Screenshots of subscription page or billing statement
- If purchased via app store: proof of purchase from Apple/Google/Amazon
- Copies of any emails or support messages and proof of registered mail (if used)
Common mistakes
Common errors include trying to cancel a web subscription inside the mobile app when the subscription was bought through Apple/Google (or vice versa). Users sometimes expect an immediate refund outside the 14‑day window or do not realize that cancellation only prevents future renewals while leaving the paid period active until it expires. Another frequent mistake is sending ordinary (unregistered) mail when Doodle’s postal cancellation recommendation specifies registered delivery for proof; keep receipts and confirmation screenshots.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Parent Dashboard (web‑direct) | Full refund if requested within 14 days; otherwise no refund for annual/monthly (access until period end) | Low |
| Online form / Email / Registered post (web‑direct) | Same web‑direct refund rules apply (14‑day cooling‑off for full refund) | Low - Medium (registered post adds steps) |
| Google Play (Android) | Refunds handled by Google Play according to its policy; Doodle cannot directly refund. | Medium |
| Apple App Store | Refunds handled by Apple; request via Apple; Doodle cannot directly refund App Store purchases. | Medium - High |
After cancelling
Keep a copy of your cancellation confirmation, receipts and any refund correspondence. Useful links: Doodle cancellation policy (help.doodlelearning.com), how to cancel on Android (Google Play instructions), and Doodle’s mobile app change page for App Store issues (doodle.com).
If you do not receive an expected refund within the stated processing window, contact Doodle support via their help pages and retain transaction records; if the issue remains unresolved, consider contacting your card issuer or the relevant provincial consumer protection office.
