Cancellation Hubspot: Easy Method
What is Hubspot
HubSpot is a cloud-based platform that combines CRM, marketing, sales, service, CMS, and operations tools to help businesses attract, engage, and retain customers. It is offered in multiple tiers (free, Starter, Professional, Enterprise) and can be purchased directly from HubSpot or through app stores and third-party providers.
How to cancel HubSpot
- If you purchased directly on the HubSpot website: sign in to your HubSpot account, go to Account > Billing, and turn off Auto-renewal. You cannot generally cancel mid‑term; turning off auto‑renewal means the subscription will stop at the end of your current committed term (monthly or annual). For HubSpot guidance see HubSpot renewal help.
- If you subscribed via Apple App Store (iOS): cancel through your Apple ID Subscriptions (device Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions). HubSpot does not manage App Store in‑app subscriptions; Apple handles billing and cancellations.
- If you subscribed via Google Play (Android): cancel in the Google Play app or at play.google.com/store/account under Subscriptions. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription; you retain access until the paid period ends.
- For Marketplace purchases (themes, modules, etc.) contact the marketplace provider for refunds or cancellations - HubSpot generally does not process refunds for third‑party marketplace items.
- If you want a formal written cancellation, send a signed notice that includes your account email, portal/portal ID, subscription plan, purchase date, and a clear statement that you request cancellation or that you are turning off auto‑renewal. Send this by registered mail (raccomandata A/R) to HubSpot’s Canadian address (see Address section below) and retain the tracking/receipt for your records.
What happens when you cancel
When you turn off auto‑renewal or otherwise cancel under HubSpot’s normal processes, your subscription remains active until the end of the paid or committed term. You keep access to your HubSpot account and features for the remainder of that billing period. After the term ends, your paid features will no longer be available; your account may revert to a free tier and HubSpot may retain data according to its data retention policies. It’s recommended to export any data, reports, or backups you need before the end of the term.
Will I get a refund?
HubSpot’s publicly available Terms of Service specify that prepaid or unused subscription fees are generally non‑refundable at the end of your current term unless termination is for cause. In limited cases where termination is for cause, HubSpot may issue a prorated refund for unused time. There is no general 14‑day cooling‑off refund right shown in HubSpot’s public policy for Canada. For Marketplace purchases, refunds are handled by the item provider where the provider’s refund policy applies.

Your consumer rights in Canada
Canadian consumer protection for digital goods and subscription services generally permits consumers to use paid services until the end of the paid term; merchants are not automatically required to offer a 14‑day cooling‑off period unless they expressly provide one. HubSpot’s practices - no mid‑term cancellations and no general refunds - are consistent with common industry practice. If you believe HubSpot’s conduct is misleading or unfair under provincial consumer protection laws (for example, if auto‑renewal terms were not clear or were misrepresented), you can pursue remedies through the relevant provincial consumer protection office or small claims court.
Customer experiences
Users in Canada report a mix of experiences. Positive feedback highlights HubSpot’s all‑in‑one CRM and Service Hub functionality, the helpfulness of HubSpot Academy training, an intuitive CRM interface, and the value of the free tier for small teams. Negative feedback reported on public review sites centers on billing issues, perceived aggressive upselling, difficulties with cancellations or unexpected automatic renewals, and inconsistent customer support experiences. These mixed reviews indicate strong product utility for many users but also real risks around billing clarity and support responsiveness.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and portal/portal ID; subscription plan name and purchase date.
- Invoices or receipts showing payment dates and amounts.
- Proof of purchase source (HubSpot web invoice, Apple receipt, or Google Play receipt).
- Screenshots of billing settings showing Auto‑renewal status and any cancellation confirmation.
- Copies of any correspondence with HubSpot or the marketplace provider regarding billing or cancellations.
- Registered mail tracking/receipt if you send a written cancellation to HubSpot’s Canadian address.
Common mistakes
Common errors include assuming uninstalling the mobile app cancels a subscription (it does not for Google Play), failing to turn off auto‑renewal in the account billing settings, not confirming whether you purchased via HubSpot directly or through a third party (App Store/Google Play/marketplace), and neglecting to export data before the end of the billing term. Another frequent mistake is relying on verbal confirmation from support without written confirmation; always request written confirmation of cancellation or auto‑renewal being turned off.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Purchased via HubSpot website (web) | Generally no mid‑term refunds; prorated refund only for termination for cause | Moderate - must turn off Auto‑renewal; cancellation takes effect end of term |
| Purchased via Apple App Store (iOS) | Refunds handled by Apple (rare, subject to Apple policy) | Low - cancel through Apple ID Subscriptions |
| Purchased via Google Play (Android) | Refunds handled by Google Play (subject to Google policy) | Low to moderate - cancel via Google Play; uninstalling app does not cancel |
| Marketplace purchases (themes/modules) | Refunds managed by the provider according to provider policy | Variable - contact the marketplace provider for resolution |
After cancelling
Export important data, contacts, reports, and website assets before your paid term ends. Keep copies of invoices and any written cancellation confirmation. Monitor your bank/credit card statements after the term end to ensure no unexpected renewals. If you need to escalate billing disputes, refer to HubSpot’s Terms of Service and gather your documentation before contacting HubSpot support or your provincial consumer protection office.
