Cancellation Skool: Easy Method

What is Skool

Overview

Skool is an online community and course platform that combines forums, courses, and group membership features into a single interface. Creators and organizations run paid or free groups that provide course content, community discussion, live streams, and member management tools. Skool lists its pricing in USD and uses third‑party payment processors for transactions.

How to cancel Skool

  • Inside the group: Open the group, go to Settings → Billing (or the subscription area) and cancel the subscription there. Cancelling in Billing stops future renewals but does not automatically issue refunds.
  • Contact the group admin/support: After cancelling or if you want a refund, message the group admin via Skool Chat or email the group’s support contact to request cancellation and a refund (refunds are discretionary by the group admin).
  • If you cannot reach the admin in Skool: Send a written request by postal mail to the corporate address (see Address section below). If sending from Canada, you may choose raccomandata A/R to the U.S. address for proof of delivery.
  • Keep confirmations: Save screenshots or copies of cancellation confirmations, chat logs, receipts and any responses from the admin or support.

What happens when you cancel

Cancelling a subscription or leaving a Skool group generally stops future billing and may remove your access to paid group content according to the group’s settings. Access, course availability and data retention are controlled by the group admins - some groups may allow continued access until the end of a paid period, others may remove access immediately. Cancelling does not automatically remove payment methods from the group; you may need to manage payment methods inside the group’s Billing settings. Export or save any important files or records before leaving.

Will I get a refund?

Refunds are not automatic upon cancellation. Refunds are issued at the discretion of the group admins and governed by each group’s refund policy. If a refund is approved, refunds are typically processed to the original payment method and take approximately 7 - 10 business days to appear. Confirm times and eligibility with the group admin. Skool plans and pricing

Plan Price Period Features
Hobby US$9.00 per month (equivalent in CAD depends on current FX rates) Monthly All core features, unlimited members/courses/videos, live‑streaming, custom URL, advanced analytics, 1 admin, 10% transaction fee
Pro US$99.00 per month (equivalent in CAD depends on current FX rates) Monthly All core features, unlimited members/courses/videos, live‑streaming, custom URL, advanced analytics, unlimited admins, tiered transaction fees - 2.9% + $0.30 (≤ US$900) or 3.9% + $0.30 (≥ US$901)

Skool lists pricing in USD only; the actual cost in CAD depends on the exchange rate used by your card or payment processor at the time of billing. Payouts and merchant processing use Stripe Express or the payment processor chosen by the group.

Your consumer rights in Canada

Skool’s cancellation and refund practice is primarily governed by the group admin’s policies rather than an automatic statutory cooling‑off period. There is no publicly disclosed universal 14‑day cooling‑off right on Skool purchases; eligibility for refunds is handled by group admins. If you believe you were charged in error or face problems obtaining a refund, you can contact your card issuer or payment processor to dispute a transaction, and you may contact your provincial consumer protection office for guidance. This is general information, not legal advice - check provincial rules (for example, Ontario, British Columbia or Quebec consumer protection offices) for specific rights in your province.

Customer experiences

Reviews are mixed. Some users praise Skool’s simple, clean UI and say it helps with engagement (notably some people with ADHD report it is easier to focus in Skool). There are also success stories from creators reporting significant revenue growth using Skool communities and funnels. Conversely, a number of reviews on Trustpilot and posts on Reddit describe problems such as revoked “lifetime access” claims, difficulty cancelling and obtaining refunds, being charged despite cancellation attempts, and unsatisfactory customer support. These mixed experiences suggest results depend heavily on individual group admins and seller practices.

Documentation checklist

  • Receipt or proof of payment (transaction ID, date, amount)
  • Subscription or order ID shown in Skool Billing
  • Screenshots of the group’s Billing page and any cancellation confirmations
  • Copies or screenshots of communications with the group admin or support (Skool Chat logs, emails)
  • Bank or card statement entries showing the charge

Common mistakes

Assuming cancellation equals an automatic refund is common - cancelling a subscription or leaving a group does not guarantee a refund. Another frequent error is not contacting the group admin or support to request a refund and instead relying solely on cancelling within Billing. Failing to save proof of cancellation, receipts and communications makes disputes harder to resolve. Some users also miss where to manage payment methods inside the group settings, so charges continue if payment details aren’t removed or subscriptions not formally cancelled.

Comparative recap

Method Refund Difficulty
Contact group admin via Skool Chat or email Possible if admin approves; refunds (if approved) processed ~7 - 10 business days to original payment method Medium - depends on admin responsiveness
Cancel inside group Billing (stop renewals) No automatic refund; prevents future charges but refund requires admin approval Easy - quick in the Billing settings
Postal mail to SKOOL.COM, Inc. (written cancellation/refund request) Possible but slower; still subject to admin policy and discretion Hard - slower and requires proof of delivery (use raccomandata A/R if sending from Canada)

After cancelling

After you cancel, keep copies of all confirmations and communications, monitor your card or bank statement for any further charges, and follow up with the group admin if you requested a refund. If a refund was approved, expect it to post to the original payment method in about 7 - 10 business days. If you are unable to get a satisfactory response from the group admin, consider disputing the charge with your card issuer or payment processor and contact your provincial consumer protection agency for next steps.

Helpful resources: Skool’s help pages and support center, your payment processor (e.g., Stripe) support pages, and your bank or card issuer’s dispute/chargeback guidance. For Skool support and articles, visit Skool. For payment disputes, see your card issuer’s website or Stripe support.
