Cancellation Stl Tones: Easy Method
What is Stl Tones
STL Tones is a company that offers digital guitar tones, amp plugins, and a subscription service (ToneHub) providing access to thousands of presets, tone libraries, and related software. Their products are delivered digitally and billed through their website, with pricing displayed in US dollars.
The service includes monthly and annual ToneHub subscriptions as well as outright licenses and expansion packs; account management and subscription controls are handled primarily via STL Tones' website and support channels.
How to cancel Stl Tones
- Cancel via the STL Tones website: Log into your account, go to "Manage My Subscriptions" and follow the prompts to cancel. Access typically continues until the end of your current billing period. See the subscription policy at stltones.com/subscription-policy.
- Email support: Send a cancellation request to support@stltones.com. Include your account email, order number and the reason for cancellation.
- Online chat: Use the Chat button on the bottom-right of the STL Tones website to request cancellation or ask for help from support.
- App Store / Google Play purchases: STL Tones does not document cancellation guidance for these platforms in their Help Center or Subscription Policy; if you subscribed via an app store you may need to manage or request refunds through that store (STL's published guidance does not cover this). See the subscription policy at stltones.com/subscription-policy for the website-managed route.
What happens when you cancel
When you cancel a subscription via the website or by contacting support, your subscription will stop renewing after the current billing period. You should retain access to ToneHub and any included content until the end of that paid period; after that access will end unless you resubscribe.
Cancelling prevents future charges but does not automatically issue refunds under STL Tones' standard policies (see next section). Your account, purchase history and any licensed downloads ordinarily remain associated with your account unless otherwise stated by support.
Will I get a refund?
STL Tones' stated policy is that digital products and subscriptions are generally non-refundable and all sales are final. An exception exists for annual subscriptions: you may request a refund if you cancel within 72 hours of being charged, but refund approval is discretionary. Free trials auto-convert to paid subscriptions if not cancelled before the trial ends, and refunds are not typically available for missed trial cancellations. For details see STL Tones' return policy at stltones.com/return-policy and their help article at stltones.gorgias.help.

Your consumer rights in Canada
In Canada, there is generally no automatic statutory cooling-off period for digital goods or online services; refunds and cancellation rights are usually governed by the vendor's own terms unless provincial law provides otherwise. Digital content that is delivered immediately (as with STL Tones' downloads and ToneHub access) commonly falls outside any 14-day distance-selling cancellation rights that might apply to physical goods. For more information on Quebec consumer rules see the Office de la protection du consommateur at opc.gouv.qc.ca.
Customer experiences
Customer feedback is mixed. Some users praise STL Tones' amp tones and preset libraries, calling the plugins a valuable set of high-quality emulations. Others have reported problems including double billing, charges continuing after attempted cancellation, slow or absent support responses, authorization and device-switch issues, and technical problems on some systems (especially on Mac). Several reviewers have also reported difficulty obtaining refunds when they felt products were unusable. See user reviews for examples at Trustpilot.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and username
- Order number / receipt and date of charge
- Last four digits of the card used (do not share full card number publicly)
- Screenshots of billing entries or subscription page showing renewal
- Any cancellation confirmation emails or chat transcripts
Common mistakes
Common mistakes include assuming an app-store subscription is cancelled through the website (App Store and Google Play subscriptions are often managed through those stores), waiting until the trial ends and expecting a refund, and not saving cancellation confirmations or receipts. For example, a user who closes the browser without completing the "Manage My Subscriptions" flow may assume cancellation occurred when it did not, or a user who subscribed on iOS may attempt to cancel on the STL website while the App Store still controls billing.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Website - Manage My Subscriptions / Account | Generally no; annual refunds may be requested within 72 hours (discretionary) | Low to Medium (self-serve; follow prompts; keep confirmation) |
| Email support / On-site chat | Generally no; support may evaluate exceptions (annual 72‑hour window) | Medium (depends on response time and documentation provided) |
| App Store / Google Play | STL does not document refunds for store purchases; refunds are typically handled by the store | Variable to High (store policies differ; STL Help does not provide store-specific guidance) |
After cancelling
After you cancel, keep your confirmation email or chat transcript and monitor your bank or card statements for any unexpected charges. If you believe you were charged in error after cancelling, contact STL Tones support at support@stltones.com and provide the documentation from the checklist above. Review STL Tones' subscription and return policies at stltones.com/subscription-policy and stltones.com/return-policy. If your purchase was made through an app store, contact Apple or Google support for store-specific refund and cancellation procedures.
