Cancellation Sendgrid: Easy Method
What is SendGrid
Overview
SendGrid is a cloud-based email delivery platform used to send transactional and marketing emails at scale. It provides an Email API, templates, analytics, delivery tools and marketing campaign features for businesses.
Primary use cases
Common uses include transactional notifications, bulk marketing campaigns, and programmatic email sending integrated via APIs or SMTP. It is used by startups and enterprises worldwide, including customers in India.
How to cancel SendGrid
Cancel via web console (recommended)
- Sign in to your SendGrid account at the web console.
- Go to Settings > Account Details > Your Products.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Your Products page and click “Cancel Subscription”.
- Follow the on-screen confirmation steps to complete cancellation.
- See official instructions: Cancel or downgrade a Twilio SendGrid paid subscription.
App Store / Google Play subscriptions
- SendGrid subscriptions cannot be cancelled inside the iOS App Store or Google Play console; the web console must be used.
- If you subscribed via an app store and cannot cancel from SendGrid’s web console, contact SendGrid Support and your app store billing support to ensure termination.
- Third-party guidance summarising this policy: Postclic - cancel SendGrid.
What happens when you cancel
Access and feature changes
After cancellation, your paid features stop at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated during checkout.
You will retain access to account data until SendGrid’s data retention policy or account removal steps take effect.
Automatic renewals and account deletion
Cancelling stops future renewals of the subscription but does not automatically delete your SendGrid account or data.
Deleting an account is a separate action; deletion may not terminate billing unless cancellation was completed first.
Will I get a refund?
General refund policy
SendGrid’s refund policy is strict and limited. Prorated refunds for mid-cycle cancellations are not provided in normal circumstances.
Refunds are generally only considered for the most recent month’s subscription charge and under tight conditions.
Exceptions and Indian GST context
- Refunds may be considered only if, in the current calendar month, you had zero usage, zero overages, and no contacts stored in Marketing Campaigns.
- India B2B customers with a valid GST number may request a credit (refund of GST) within 90 days; for closed accounting periods the GST credit may be applied to the next invoice. See the SendGrid GST note: Twilio SendGrid Goods and Services Tax in India.
- If cancellation via the web console fails and charges continue, escalate to Support and retain invoices and screenshots for disputes.

Your consumer rights in India
GST and taxation rights
- B2B customers with a valid GST registration have the right to request GST credit/refund within 90 days under SendGrid’s India GST handling policy.
- If the GST refund window is closed, SendGrid may issue the GST amount as a credit toward a future invoice.
- Reference: SendGrid GST in India.
Consumer protection and digital subscriptions
If a subscription cannot be cancelled via the web console or billing continues after cancellation, Indian consumers can use statutory remedies under the Consumer Protection Act for unfair trade practices.
For app-store purchases, Apple/Google refund and cancellation processes apply; disputes may require escalation to the app store or consumer forums.
Complaint channels
- Raise a support ticket with SendGrid and keep ticket IDs, emails and screenshots.
- If unresolved, consider lodging complaints with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH) or the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
Customer experiences
Positive feedback
Indian reviewers (Capterra) praise SendGrid for reliable delivery, solid API integration, customizable templates and good UI for many users.
Businesses often cite affordability at high volumes and quality deliverability as major benefits.
Negative feedback
Trustpilot and other review outlets report recurring issues: unclear cancellation steps, billing surprises, poor support responsiveness and occasional account suspensions.
Other sources (JoinSecret, Reddit summaries) mention UX problems, limited design features and restrictive refund policies as pain points.

Documentation checklist
Before you contact Support
- Account email and SendGrid customer ID.
- Latest invoice(s) and billing transaction IDs.
- Screenshot of subscription page showing plan and billing cycle.
- Screenshot of cancellation attempt and any error messages.
For GST / refunds
- Valid GSTIN and GST registration documents (for B2B GST credit requests).
- Dates and evidence showing zero usage in the refund month (if requesting a refund under policy).
Common mistakes
Assuming account deletion cancels subscription
Some users delete their account but forget to cancel subscriptions in Settings; deletion does not always stop billing. Always cancel the paid plan explicitly via Your Products.
Relying on app-store cancellation
Users who subscribed through app listings may assume the app store cancels SendGrid billing. SendGrid requires web-console cancellation and may require support intervention if app-store billing persists.
