Cancellation Fox News: Easy Method
What is Fox News
Fox News is a U.S.-based news and opinion network that offers television channels, on-demand streaming content, and a subscription streaming product (Fox Nation) with original shows, on-demand clips, and archived programming. In Canada, Fox News content is most commonly available as a channel add-on through Canadian TV providers rather than as a standalone Canadian streaming service.
How to cancel Fox News
- If you subscribed directly via Fox Nation (website): log into foxnation.com → My Account → Subscription → Cancel Subscription. You should receive a confirmation email and keep access through the current billing period. See Fox’s help article: Fox Nation: Cancel Subscription.
- If you subscribed via Apple App Store (iOS): on your device go to Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → select Fox Nation → Cancel Subscription. Access continues until the billing period ends. See Apple-specific steps: Cancel via Apple.
- If you subscribed via Google Play (Android): open the Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Fox Nation → Cancel Subscription and confirm. See Google-specific steps: Cancel via Google Play.
- If you subscribed through Roku: on your Roku device go to Home, highlight Fox Nation, press * (options), choose Manage Subscription → Cancel Subscription; or sign in at my.roku.com → Manage Subscriptions → Cancel. See Roku steps: Cancel via Roku.
- If your Fox access is billed through a Canadian TV provider (Bell, Rogers, TELUS/Mascon etc.), cancel through that provider’s account portal or customer service - Fox cannot cancel provider-billed subscriptions for you.
- If you prefer written notice, send a cancellation request by registered mail (for proof of delivery) addressed to Fox News Viewer Services at the postal address given below and include your account details (see Documentation checklist).
- Important: deleting a Fox account or uninstalling apps does NOT cancel an active subscription; you must cancel through the subscription platform or provider first. See: Deleting a FOX Account.
What happens when you cancel
When cancellation is processed through the correct platform, your subscription will not renew at the next billing date; you will retain access to Fox Nation (or the channel) through the end of the current paid period. You should receive a confirmation email or on-screen confirmation - keep that for your records. If you cancel via a third-party provider (Apple, Google, Roku, or your TV provider), that provider controls billing and renewal; Fox’s systems may not show the cancellation until the provider communicates it.
Cancelling does not automatically delete your account or stored data. If you want your Fox account removed across apps, cancel the subscription first and then follow account deletion steps separately.
Will I get a refund?
Fox Nation’s stated policy is that subscription fees are non-refundable, including unused portions of a billing period; you typically retain access until the period ends but will not receive a pro rata refund. Refunds are discretionary - customer support may consider goodwill refunds in exceptional cases, but there is no guaranteed refund entitlement. If you subscribed through Apple, Google, Roku, or a TV provider, refund rules and processes are governed by that platform or provider, not Fox. See Fox Nation terms: Terms of Use.

Your consumer rights in Canada
Canadian consumer protections for streaming subscriptions do not currently mandate a universal “click-to-cancel” requirement after proposed rules were blocked in mid-2025. Industry norms apply: automatic renewals are common and refunds are not guaranteed. If a company engaged in misleading auto-renewal practices or failed to disclose key terms, you may have recourse under provincial consumer protection laws; however, there is no broad statutory right to a 14‑day refund for digital streaming the way there can be for some physical goods. If you believe a renewal was deceptive, document communications and consider a complaint to your provincial consumer protection office or, if applicable, your payment provider (bank or card issuer).
Customer experiences
Reviews are mixed. Some subscribers appreciate discounted rates offered to eligible veterans and first responders and enjoy certain shows or personalities. Common negative feedback includes complaints about unexpected auto-renewals and lack of refunds for unintended charges, app reliability problems (logouts, navigation issues, crashes), and difficulty reaching live customer support. Several users report billing glitches where cancellations did not stop future charges, so keeping confirmation records is important.
Documentation checklist
- Account email and username; subscription ID or plan name
- Date of the charge(s) and the last transaction receipt or bank statement showing the charge
- Screenshot or copy of the subscription management screen or cancellation confirmation (if any)
- Name of platform used to subscribe (FoxNation website, Apple App Store, Google Play, Roku, or TV provider)
- If sending mail: a printed cancellation request including the above details and a copy of ID; send by registered mail and keep the tracking/return receipt
Common mistakes
Common errors include: deleting the Fox app or account without cancelling the subscription at the billing platform (this does not stop charges); attempting to cancel via Fox when the subscription is actually billed by Apple, Google, Roku, or a TV provider; and failing to keep confirmation evidence after cancelling. Another frequent issue is assuming a pro rata refund will be issued - Fox’s policy generally does not provide refunds for unused time. To avoid rebilling, confirm cancellation via the platform’s confirmation message or email and monitor your next billing cycle.
Comparative recap
| Method | Refund | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Direct via Fox Nation (foxnation.com) | No (non-refundable; discretionary exceptions) | Low |
| Apple App Store (iOS) | Refunds handled by Apple (case-by-case) | Low |
| Google Play (Android) | Refunds handled by Google (case-by-case) | Low |
| Roku | Refunds handled by Roku (case-by-case) | Low - Medium |
| TV provider billing (Bell, Rogers, TELUS/Mascon) | Refunds handled by provider; policies vary | Varies |
After cancelling
After you cancel, keep the confirmation (email, screenshot, or registered mail receipt) and monitor your bank or card statement to ensure the subscription does not rebill. If a charge occurs after a confirmed cancellation, contact the billing platform or your card issuer immediately and provide documentation. For additional help and relevant support pages see Fox’s resources: Fox Nation cancellation help (Cancel Subscription), platform-specific guides for apps (App Store/Google/Roku steps), and Fox account deletion info (Delete FOX Account).
