Cancel Photomyne: Simple Process
What is Photomyne
Overview
Photomyne is a mobile and web service for scanning, saving and organising printed photographs and albums. It offers automated batch scanning, basic enhancements, cloud backup and multi-device access.
Who uses it
Users who want to digitise large collections of printed photos, add dates/locations, and keep scans synced across devices commonly use Photomyne.
Service delivery
Subscriptions are sold via the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and directly on Photomyne’s website. Each platform may manage billing and cancellations differently.
How to cancel Photomyne
Cancel via App Store (iOS)
- Open your iOS Account Settings (Apple ID > Subscriptions).
- Find Photomyne and select Cancel Subscription.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid renewal.
- Note: Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.
Cancel via Google Play Store (Android)
- Go to play.google.com and sign in to the account used for purchase.
- Click your profile picture > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
- Select the Photomyne subscription and follow Cancel.
- For refund requests use: select the order > click "Report a problem" and submit your request.
Cancel web purchases (Photomyne website)
- Email Photomyne at support@photomyne.com requesting cancellation; include your account email and order details.
- Do not assume stopping use or deleting the app will cancel a web subscription.
- Keep records of your support request for follow-up.
What happens when you cancel
Access after cancellation
After you cancel, access typically continues until the end of the paid period. You keep account data and scans unless you delete your account.
Renewal and billing
Auto-renewal will stop after cancellation takes effect. If you miss the 24‑hour App Store cutoff you may be billed for another period.
Data retention
Your uploaded photos and metadata remain tied to your account. Deleting the app does not remove your cloud-stored images - delete the account or contact support to remove data.
Will I get a refund?
Apple App Store refunds
Refunds for App Store purchases must be requested through Apple's system; Photomyne cannot issue refunds for purchases billed by Apple.
Use Apple's report-a-problem flow or Apple Report a Problem to request a refund.
Google Play Store refunds
Refunds must be requested via Google Play's system (select order > "Report a problem").
Google's refund decisions and timeframes vary by jurisdiction and Google policies.
Web purchases (Photomyne website)
- Photomyne states no partial or full refunds once a subscription period has started, except at their discretion.
- First-time subscribers may have a 14-day cooling-off period if the service has not been used.
- If you purchased on the website, email support@photomyne.com to request a refund and provide account/order details.

Your consumer rights in New Zealand
Cooling-off and refunds
Under New Zealand consumer protection rules, online purchases may have a 14‑day cooling-off period for web purchases if services have not been used.
Platform purchases (Apple/Google) are governed by the platforms' refund mechanisms but consumer protection laws may still apply.
Misleading practices and auto-renewal
Auto-renewal without clear notice or difficult cancellation processes could conflict with the NZ Fair Trading Act's rules on misleading conduct.
If you believe conduct was misleading, you may raise the issue with the Commerce Commission or seek dispute resolution.
Digital service quality
Digital subscriptions must meet reasonable quality and performance expectations under NZ consumer law.
If the service is significantly defective, you can seek remedies and escalate through platform dispute tools, your bank (chargeback), or the Commerce Commission.
Customer experiences
Positive feedback
Many users praise Photomyne for fast batch scanning and the ability to split a single photo of multiple prints into individual files.
Users also appreciate adding dates and locations and the convenience of decluttering physical albums.
Negative feedback
Common complaints include pushy promotional pop-ups, variable image quality in poor lighting, and unexpected auto-renewal charges.
Other reported issues are difficulty exporting photos, separate metadata text files, download throttling, slow exports, and poor customer support responses.
Trust and refunds
Trustpilot reviews in New Zealand show a low average score with frequent refund and support complaints.
Several users reported refunds denied after cancelling trials or experiencing unresolved technical/export problems.
Documentation checklist
Before contacting support
- Payment receipt or App Store/Google Play order ID.
- Account email used with Photomyne.
- Subscription type and purchase date.
- Screenshots of subscription screen, billing charge, or error messages.
For refund or dispute
- Bank/credit card statement entry showing the charge.
- Copies of any cancellation attempts and support conversations.
- Export logs or evidence of failed exports (if relevant).
Common mistakes
Assuming uninstall cancels subscription
Uninstalling the Photomyne app does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions must be cancelled through the App Store, Google Play, or Photomyne support for web purchases.
Missing cancellation windows
For App Store subscriptions, failing to cancel at least 24 hours before renewal can result in an unexpected charge for the next period.
Contacting the wrong support channel
Asking Photomyne to refund an App Store or Google Play purchase will often fail; refunds for platform-billed purchases must be requested through Apple or Google.
