Cancellation service #1 in Nigeria
Rebtel is a voice and mobile top-up service that offers pay-as-you-go calls and subscription calling plans for international numbers, including Nigeria.
The service runs via mobile apps and a web account, and may bill directly or through app stores depending on how you subscribed.
Users place international calls, buy calling minutes, or subscribe to monthly minute bundles for destinations such as Nigeria (mobile and fixed lines).
Payments can be made with cards or through app-store billing; billing method affects how cancellations and refunds are handled.
When you cancel a subscription it remains usable until the end of the paid period or billing cycle.
After that date the subscription will not renew and you will lose access to any included minutes or features tied to the plan.
Deleting or uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription or delete your account by itself.
To fully close the account you must log in on Rebtel’s website, go to My Profile, and select Delete Account.
Refund requests must be submitted in writing in English to [email protected] within 90 days of the charge.
After 90 days charges are generally final and non-refundable under Rebtel’s Terms of Service.
Below are representative plan names, approximate prices and core features for calling Nigeria. Use the app or website to see exact prices for your account.
Prices shown are approximate and may vary by currency, VAT, promotions and checkout display. Check the app or site while logged in for final amounts.
| Plan | Price (approx.) | Period | Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pay-as-you-go (per-minute) | approx. €0.13/min | Pay-as-you-go | Calls to Nigeria (mobile and fixed), per-minute rates |
| Subscription - 140 minutes/month | approx. €9.00/month | Monthly | 140 minutes calling Nigeria (mobile or fixed) |
Nigerian consumers are protected by local consumer-protection laws and agencies that address unfair practices and defective services.
If a service provider fails to honour terms, you can raise the issue with the relevant consumer-protection authority or regulator in Nigeria.
Deleting or uninstalling the Rebtel app does not stop billing. Users who only remove the app often continue to be charged.
Always cancel subscriptions inside the app, on my.rebtel.com, or via the app-store subscription manager used at purchase.
Waiting past the 90-day window can forfeit your right to request a refund under Rebtel's terms.
Also, relying on unverified external refund timelines (for example a claimed 14-day rule) may lead to disappointment if it conflicts with Rebtel’s official policy.
The table below compares common cancellation routes, refund likelihood and important notes to help you choose the correct method.
Use the Rebtel app or my.rebtel.com for direct control. Use App Store/Google Play if that is where you subscribed.
| Method | How to cancel | Refund likelihood | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rebtel app (iOS/Android) | Account → Your Subscriptions → Select → Deactivate | Possible if requested within 90 days | Subscription remains active until period end |
| Rebtel website | Log in at my.rebtel.com → Account → Service → Deactivate | Possible if requested within 90 days | Use for account management and deletion |
| Apple App Store | Cancel via App Store subscriptions | Refunds governed by Apple policies | Rebtel cannot process App Store refunds directly |
| Google Play | Cancel via Google Play > Subscriptions | Refunds governed by Google Play policies | Uninstalling app does not cancel subscription |
| Deleting the app | Not a valid cancellation method | No refund; subscription continues | Must cancel in-app, on website, or via app-store |
Confirm you received an in-app or email confirmation of Deactivate and keep that as proof of cancellation.
Monitor your bank or card statement to ensure no further renewals occur and report unexpected charges promptly.
